You are bidding on a 1994 Ford Explorer Sport. I am the 2nd owner and it has spent the majority of its time in the Southwest (New Mexico and Southern California) and is virtually rust-free. The previous owner was a stickler for maintenance as I am, so it has been well maintained with the exception of the A/C. The compressor locked up last year, and because it is a secondary vehicle for me and I don't use the A/C that often anyway, I didn't spend the money to have it repaired. The only other mechanical defect that I can think of is with the rear wiper motor - the teeth that engage the arm are stripped and the motor will need to be replaced to remedy that. It was that way when I bought it and I didn't care so I didn't replace it. Aside from those two issues, it is an EXCELLENT vehicle. I drove it from Baltimore Maryland to my home here in Kentucky and averaged 26 mpg...I couldn't believe it! It starts and drives well. It is a 5-spd manual transmission and shifts well. The tires are in very good condition and should last for many more thousands of miles. It does have a small dent above the passenger side rear wheel opening. The paint is not broken so it may be able to be repaired without requiring repainting. I have represented it to the best of my ability. Please ask any questions before bidding. If you're able to test-drive it before bidding, I would welcome it. You won't be disappointed. Bid to WIN!

Ford to build next F-150, outgoing model concurrently?
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Ford is rumored to be considering concurrent production for old and new F-150 models in a bid to minimize supply chain disruptions and inventory. Automotive News is reporting that the Blue Oval will build both the current F-150 and its replacement, which we showed you testing just last month, side by side for about half a year before switching over entirely to next-generation production.
As IHS Automotive analyst Mike Jackson told AN, "In order to ramp up, you have to retool...and that means you have to take capacity offline." Building both models alongside could allow Ford to cope with the still strong demand for the current F-150, while populating dealer supplies and working out supply chain kinks for the new model before making a full-time switch.
A loss of capacity when demand is so strong, even for a short period, could spell bad news for Ford, which nets an estimated 90 percent of its global profit on pickups and large SUVs. As AN states, Ford produces the F-150 in both Kansas City, Missouri and Dearborn, Michigan, which allows it to maintain some degree of flexibility in production. The new F-150 is expected to arrive at the 2014 North American International Auto Show as a 2015 model, with a design inspired by the Atlas Concept first shown at the Detroit Auto Show last January.
Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow
Wed, Mar 16 2016Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:
