2002 Ford Explorer Sport
| There is no doubt that one can find a less expensive Explorer Sport on eBay Motors but there is always a reason for a vehicle's value. The Explorer listed is in absolute wonderful condition and has been cared for much as one would care for their own child since it came off the assembly line in 2002. Not only is this SUV loaded with equipment but it has also been loaded with love its entire life ... and it shows! Another great point for this Explorer is that it is equipped with the high-priced rear climate control system to ensure the comfort of those in the rear seats. The vehicle being offered is a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport in the most popular dark green color with leather interior. There have been no accidents with this vehicle and both the interior and exterior have been very well maintained since new. No paint work has ever been done on the truck. And, although it has four wheel drive and the towing package, the vehicle has never been used off-road nor has it ever towed a trailer. The engine has been serviced at every recommended interval and everything works exactly as designed. The air-conditioning system was recently serviced with all new parts as needed. One will not find a smoother riding Explorer Sport regardless of the price paid for the SUV. This Explorer has very few miles and every one has been carefully driven. The Michelin tires are in excellent condition as are the brakes, exhaust system, transmission, transfer case, etc. All gauges read accurately, all power equipment works as it should, the stereo and CD system sound great, the exhaust is quiet, there are no oil leaks from the power train ... all in all, a wonderful vehicle that will serve one's needs well for many years and many miles to come. - We must receive a deposit of $150.00 within 3 business days of the auction end time. This amount must be paid to our PayPal account which is rhsherm@comcast.net. This amount represents our dealership fee to cover the cost of this listing and will not be applied to the purchase price. The deposit is fully refundable as per the terms of this listing.
- The purchase price must be wire transferred to our bank account or paid in person via bank check or cash. Wire instructions will be provided following the receipt of the deposit.
- You or your personal representative must inspect the vehicle within 5 business days of the auction end time. If not satisfied with the results, you may cancel the transaction and receive a refund of your deposit in full.
- At the end of the 5-day inspection period you will lose your deposit if the inspection is not performed and you fail to consummate the transaction for any reason deemed to be unacceptable by us.
- Please plan on taking delivery of the vehicle within 7 business days of the auction end time. We will assist with transportation, if desired, but will not participate in the cost thereof.

What you see in the above image is a rendering of the Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon. What is that? It's a "mobile fabrication and hacking unit" that includes tools for metal- and woodworking, 3D and electronics fabrication, a three-axis CNC machine called "The Fabber," a video projector and screen, an air compressor, an 84x48-inch work surface that folds out like a Murphy bed and oh so much more. When not in use, all of the implements fold neatly into the back of Ford's award-winning van.
But perhaps the more important question is why is that? Because Make Magazine held an Ultimate Maker Vehicle Challenge in conjunction with Ford in which ten teams created were charged with creating "the ultimate Ford Transit Connect Wagon for the do-it-yourself enthusiast." Team Twin Cities Maker won the competition with the Hackmobile, and in addition to winning $10,000, Ford has declared it's actually going to build the thing - which is great, because if they can actually engineer a road-legal Hackmobile Transit Connect Wagon as envisioned, the inevitable A-Team movie reboot might need to think about including it.

Ford's European operations are celebrating a milestone of sorts as the Mondeo, the Blue Oval's bread-and-butter D-segment sedan in the old country, celebrates its 20th anniversary. The mid-sizer, which was sold in the US for a short time as the Contour, has been a far more popular vehicle in Europe - even receiving regular praise from one Jeremy Clarkson.
Narrated by Cockney actor Ray Winstone, the video goes through the Mondeo's years and how it's evolved from 1993 to the as-yet-unreleased fifth-generation model, which is essentially the same as the Ford Fusion that's sold in America. Take a look below for the full video from Ford of Europe.

The Basics: Ford is conducting a recall for roughly 830,000 models. The affected vehicles include the 2013 to 2015 Ford C-Max, 2012 to 2015 Ford Focus, 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape, 2015 Lincoln MKC, 2015 Ford Mustang, and 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect. The recall is focused primarily in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, Washington, and Oregon as the problem mostly affects cars in states with warm weather. The Problem: The pawl spring tab in the side door latch in the affected vehicles could break, preventing the door from latching and could even cause the door to open while driving. Injuries/Deaths: There is one reported injury and one reported accident. The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected cars' side door latches. If you own one: Reach out to your local Ford dealer to schedule a service.
