For sale is a 2013 Ford Explorer SPORT 4WD, 3.5L Twin Turbocharged Ecoboost V-6 Engine (365 HP, 350 ft/lbs), 6 speed Automatic Transmission with Select Shift in Tuxedo Metallic Black. This Explorer is in excellent condition. There are no mechanical problems and all maintenance has been completed. I am the second owner, and I have only used Amsoil Synthetic Oil. This Explorer has always been garage kept. It has every option except sunroofs. Vehicle options include: Tuxedo Black (Metallic) paint, 4 Wheel Drive with Terrain Management System, Leather Power Heated & Cooled Front Seats, Voice Activated Navigation with in-dash touch screen, Factory In-Headrest Dual DVD Players with wireless headphones, 2nd row Captain's Chairs, Sony 12 speaker Audio System, 3rd row (fold flat) seats, Class III Hitch Receiver, 20" Black Sport Wheels, Hankook Optimo 255/50R20 Tires, LED Taillights, 402A Equipment Group package that includes BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert, Back Up Camera (in Navigation screen), Inflatable Rear Seatbelts for 2nd row, Power Liftgate, Adjustable Pedals, Power Tilt & Telescoping Steering Wheel, Heated Front Seats, Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, Remote Start, Ambient Lighting Universal Garage Door Opener, Memorized Driver Seat Settings, 110V Power Outlet, Sirius XM Radio, Media Hub with USB ports, SD card reader and all-weather floor mats. I have owned this Explorer since December of 2013. It has the remainder of the factory Ford Warranty until 36K miles or September 5, 2015 (9/5/2012 - In Service Date). I am only selling because I now have a take home car thru work and rarely drive this Explorer. I still keep the Explorer garage kept. I keep this Explorer in immaculate condition inside and out and always have it clean with a fresh coat of wax. I had the front windows tinted to 30% and added the Ford rear bumper protector. The Ecoboost motor is an great engine. I have been averaging 18 mpg in city driving and 22+ mpg on highway driving. It has never been raced or taken off-road. I'm going to hate to see it go, but financially I can no longer keep it. There are no door dents or noticeable paint flaws. The tires and brakes have far more than 50% life remaining. There are currently 19,450 miles. I still drive it occasionally, so mileage may go up a little during this listing. I prefer payment by bank wire transfer or cashier's check. The title and vehicle will be released to the buyer once the transaction/funds clear the bank. A $500.00 deposit within 48 hours via Paypal is required. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for transportation. Thank you for viewing. I will review/consider all reasonable offers. Please ask any questions. I have 100% eBay Feedback, and I have sold 5 other vehicles on eBay.

Next Ford F-150 delayed for aluminum body panel issues?
Wed, 11 Dec 2013The timetable for next-generation Ford F-150 may be in trouble if a report from The Truth About Cars is true. The next F-150 is slated to make extensive use of weight-saving aluminum in its body, but the aluminum alloy provided by suppliers hasn't met Ford's requirements in the earliest phases of pre-production, according to the report.
The F-150 represents a huge portion of Ford's profits and is the best-selling truck in the US, even in the face of increased pressure from cross-town rivals General Motors and Ram. While the current truck is treading water against its competition, we'd be lying if we said the F-150 weren't growing quite long in the tooth.
If production of the next-generation of the Ford cash cow, said to be based on the Atlas Concept from the 2013 Detroit Auto Show (pictured above), is delayed, it could be bad for Ford. Production at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant is already set to be delayed six to ten weeks, missing an internal on-sale deadline of Memorial Day.
Weekly Recap: Hackers demonstrate auto industry's vulnerability
Sat, Jul 25 2015There's always been a certain risk associated with driving, and this week cyber security came into focus as the latest danger zone when researchers demonstrated how easily they could hack into a 2014 Jeep Cherokee from across the country. The incident raised concerns over the vulnerability of today's cars, many of which double as smartphones and hot spots. During the now-infamous experiment, Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller infiltrated the Jeep's cellular connection and were able to control the infotainment system, brakes, and other functions. The hackers told the Jeep's maker, FCA US, of their findings last year, the company devised a software fix. Though Valesek and Miller hacked a Cherokee (like the one shown above), several FCA products, including recent versions of the Ram, Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango, and Viper were also affected, illustrating potentially wide exposure that could reverberate across the sector. "For the auto industry, this is a very important event and shows that cyber-security protection is needed even sooner than previously planned," Egil Juliussen, senior analyst and research director for IHS Automotive, wrote in a research note. "Five years ago, the auto industry did not consider cyber security as a near-term problem. This view has changed." Hours after the Cherokee hacking incident was publicized on Tuesday, Sens. Ed Markey (D-Mass) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) introduced legislation to direct the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Federal Trade Commission to establish national standards for automotive cyber security. The bill also would require vehicles to have a cyber-rating system to alert consumers how well their cars' privacy and security are defended. "Drivers shouldn't have to choose between being connected and being protected," Markey said in a statement. "We need clear rules of the road that protect cars from hackers and American families from data trackers." Though FCA and its Jeep Cherokee were in the spotlight this time, they were just the latest to showcase how automotive technology has advanced faster than safety and regulatory measures. IHS forecasts 82.5 million cars will be connected to the internet by 2022, which is more than three times today's level. "Cyber-security will become a major challenge for the auto industry and solutions are long overdue," Juliussen said.
Shelby to auction 2012 GT350 No. 1 in Vegas
Thu, 19 Sep 2013With Shelby preparing to wind down production of its brutal GT350, a 624-horsepower Mustang that's meant to go up against the Roush Stage 3 in the world of tuned Ford ponycars, the Las Vegas-based tuner is looking to give back to one lucky customer. It'll auction off the very first GT350 ever produced, at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas, a three-day event that runs from September 26 through September 28.
The GT350 is a monster, with a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 that's been tuned well past 600 horsepower in a time when Ford's own Shelby-branded GT500 barely reached 550 horsepower. The GT350 is much louder than Ford's effort, too, both visually and audibly. The wide body look isn't what we'd call conventional, but on a car that sounds and goes like this, something extreme is needed. According to Shelby American's vice president of production, Gary Davis, "Carroll was very excited about the new wide body option, so that was included on this car. It's the first 2012 GT350 serial number from our anniversary year. It is a very special car." Wilwood brakes, a massaged suspension, and some very fat, sticky tires add to the Shelby experience.
This particular GT350 will be lot number 750, and will cross the Barrett-Jackson stage on Sunday, September 28.
