2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Xlt Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l Lifted 33" Tires on 2040-cars
Eldridge, Iowa, United States
This sport trac runs great it has never failed to start even when it's been -40 in the winter. It has just had it's regular maintenance items replaced and it's ready to go. Things that were just done were new plugs, wires, fuel filter, battery, idle air control, k&n air filter, oil change and filter. The truck runs, shifts and 4x4 work great. The truck also had a. 3" body lift installed to accommodate the 33" nitro terra grappler tires and the 18x9 fuel contrast cut wheels. The tires have about 3000 miles on them and have tons of life left. Also installed was a Reese towing package that is heavy duty. The truck came loaded from the factory and also came with the aluminum flip out bed extender and hard flip able tonneau cover. An in dash Sony touch screen DVD player has replaced the factory stereo. As for things this truck needs it is minor but feel they should be addressed. The trucks A/C does work great however when the body lift way installed the company cut a line and it needs replaced. Worked great up until that though. It's not a big deal at all. The front tie rods need replaced as they are worn and rattle a bit when hitting bumps on the road. And lastly the rear window switch stopped working. I never rolled down back window anyway so I didn't replace it. Everything else on the truck to my knowledge works great and has no issues. As for exterior, the truck does have normal little scratches that would be expected on a used vehicle. The rear bumper has a gash in it next to the hitch from previous owner and windshield has a rock chip on passenger side which has been repaired so it won't crack or anything. If you have any questions feel free to ask.. Thanks

Woman reunited with stolen Mustang after 28 years
Sun, Dec 28 2014An enthusiast Christmas story: Salinas, California resident Lynda Alsip bought a 1967 Ford Mustang in 1984 when she was 17 years old, having saved $800 after a summer of toil at a grocery store. She got a vanity plate that read "LYNDA67," for the year she was born, but she only got to enjoy the car for two years: in 1986, after a night out, someone stole it from her apartment complex. She hadn't seen it since. Then a man – another Salinas resident – tried to register the car at the DMV this year. He said he bought it as a project car in 1991, yet the DMV couldn't find any record of it. The DMV office sent the case of the untraceable car to the California Highway Patrol, where Officer Christopher Menchen dug into the records, and his search paid off. The officer located Alsip's stolen record report from 1986 and connected the Mustang to it's registered owner in 1986, who was Alsip's mother. The CHP found the forest green Mustang in the man's garage, and they figure it's been there since 1991. After waiting through the still-ongoing three-month investigation, the CHP reunited Alsip – now a wife and a mother of two – with her car on December 22. It's undriveable, but her original vanity plate is back on and she plans to restore it. The video above has the story. 11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching
Fri, 26 Sep 2014This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. Still, scroll down for our list of what we think will be the most interesting vehicles at the upcoming auction.
Ford could post best-ever profits in Q1 2013
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Analysts are saying that Ford Motor Company may have earned a record $2.7 billion pretax profit in North America during the first quarter of 2013, a number that represents its highest first quarter profit ever. The impressive earnings are further proof that the American automaker is making a solid comeback as the economy begins to recover.
Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase are estimating that Ford's first quarter North American profit may have topped 12 percent. The firm cited the automaker's fresh lineup, but noted that CEO Alan Mulally needs to uphold the pace as the company works to gain ground in the car and utility segments.
Ford's success has been led by increased demand for its F-Series pickup, the best-selling vehicle in the US for 31 years, and by the Fusion sedan that recently recorded its best-ever quarterly sales in the domestic market. Ford is expected to release its first-quarter revenue on Wednesday, of this week.
