Nicely Lifted 1998 Ford Expedition Xlt Sport Utility 4-door 5.4l on 2040-cars
Newville, Pennsylvania, United States
Well as much as i hate to do it, I have decided to part with my beloved Expedition...
i bought this about 2 years ago and 2 days after i bought i started ordering parts heres the list of bought and installed parts New Fabtech 6" lift kit not just a little box of cheap stuff either, it came ups freight in 8 large heavy boxes! $3500 just for the lift from fabtech new rotors new hub assemblies new calipers new rubber brake lines new steel lines (front to back) new upper and lower ball joints new 20" pinnacle wheels the tires i bought used but the still have tread on them new tail lights new headlights & bulbs new hoodscoops the 4 wheel drive is freakin awesome in this thing!!!!!!! i drove it through 3 foot snow banks and never even spun! 20" chrome pinnacle wheels wrapped in procomp 35x13.50r20 currently pa inspected leather interior with the third row we used this to go to the beach once a year and i drove it a few times to go hunting... the tires are a little too wide for the vehicle and if not inflated properly the steering is EXTREMELY sensitive it could use a cleaning but its not hateful there is one thing i noticed the other day when i was greasing the ball joints i had never installed the new extended bump stop on the passenger side...i do still have it... but then again the lift came with alot of different parts that werent used because some expeditions have 8.8 rears and some with 9.75 and different trannies to some had the E4od and others the 4r100 so it came with parts to do both types so you get a box of alot of extra peices too! i have set a very low reserve for this...and i hope that someone will love this vehicle the way i did and i also hope it goes far away cause if i sell it i never want to see it again we have 8 kids so i needed the vehicle at the time to handle all of them now most of them have graduated school ,off to college married,or have children of their own so our little explorer will have to do..... also when it was time for inspection the speedo quit working and i had to install one from the local salvage yard it is noted with the inspection station that it was changed the old odometer had 124xxx and the new one had 164xxx and we have driven it around 2000 miles in 2 years...... i hope there is someone out there that will take this and understand the amount of legitimate blood and sweat and money that i put in this vehicle!!... i have almost $9000 invested in it! On Nov-14-13 at 17:17:07 PST, seller added the following information: winning bidder will also recieve a hitch carrier with the vehicle....i used it to haul coolers on and when i used it for hunting i put my game on it cause i didnt want anything inside On Dec-03-13 at 14:36:41 PST, seller added the following information:Relisting do to a buyer that cannot be contacted and decided he didnt want to pay for the item ...either way he decided to not even come out..... if you dont plan on paying for it and picking it up than please dont bid and waste both of our time BTW its going to need an alignment i wouldnt recommend driving it long distance either...i can personally deliver it for a fee....contact me directly on a delivery fee 717-609-7391 Alan K. |

Alan Mulally talks about why Ford's Falcon had to die
Tue, 20 Aug 2013When Ford made the decision to end production of the Falcon sedan and Territory CUV in Australia, it wasn't a popular move Down Under. The large, four-door Falcon had been in production for 50 years, and while Ford has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market, it's understandable that some people still aren't all that crazy about the Blue Oval's decision.
Speaking to CEO Alan Mulally after Ford's Go Further event in Sydney, Australian site Go Auto reports that the decision was not one made lightly, and that the automaker is doing everything possible to respect the Falcon and Territory's "stakeholders." It's an interesting piece that shows a softer side of a corporation, while demonstrating that Ford is doing everything in its power to make the end of production as smooth as possible for all parties.
Head over to Go Auto for the full series of remarks from Mulally, and then let us know what you think of Ford's handling of the Falcon and Territory discontinuations, in Comments.
Production of Shelby GT350 is coming to an end
Fri, 26 Jul 2013One Autoblog staffer who drove the limited-edition Shelby GT350 wrote it probably was the best Mustang he'd driven, but, at some point, the fun had to come to an end: December 31 is the last day the GT350 will be available to order.
The GT350's option list has evolved much like it did for the original 1965-67 GT350. For 2011, the 45th Anniversary edition only came in coupe form and was painted white with blue stripes, just as with the 1965 car. The 2012 GT350 was offered as a coupe or convertible, and three colors were added to the option list, just like the 1966 model. For 2013, more colors and options were added in addition to equipment and styling updates, which resulted in Wilwood instead of Baer brakes. No major changes were made for the 2014 model. From the first car in 2011, customers have been able to choose between three different configurations for their 5.0-liter V8: naturally aspirated with 440 horsepower, supercharged with 525 hp (with warranty) or supercharged with 624 hp (without warranty).
"When we unveiled this latest version of the Shelby GT350, we promised it would be built for a limited time to preserve its collectability and value," states John Luft, president of Shelby American. He may have a point, because the original GT350, which also had a limited production run, is among the most valuable muscle cars in the world.
Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars
Sun, Sep 24 2017Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry.
