2005 Ford Expedition Xlt on 2040-cars
Dover, Florida, United States
Car has about 172k miles on it mostly highway miles to Memphis, TN but since I've had it, 2 years, it has been everyday back road driving. Has been in a few accidents. Engine shakes under heavy load. Have replaced injectors, gas tank, spark plugs, and checked valves. Most likely a bad sensor. Shows up on reading as cylinder 7 misfire. If you undo the battery cable and put it back on, it runs fine until check engine light comes on. Once check engine light comes on it is somewhat sensitive to medium-heavy acceleration. As long as you undo the battery cable and don't hit the accelerator really hard, it runs perfectly. Right rear tire went flat yesterday and I'm replacing it today. Car has a cracked windshield and front end damage. Paint is fairly good. Waxed regularly. Shows some signs of wear on hood and a significant amount of wear with scratches on roof. 2 dents on top of each front fender. Head lights are very clear. Brand new battery. Replacing oil this weekend, air filter is new and brakes have maybe 5,000 miles on them. Rims look decent. A little bit of wear but not noticeable from far away if cleaned. However, one rim had the cover come off and the other(both on right side) I think is coming off. Car has usual amount of carpet stains for a 9 year old vehicle. Aftermarket leather seats, 3rd row seats with power fold, 3 TVs, 1 fold down and 2 headrests, DVD players for each one. Navigation System with DVD/CD, carbon fiber interior panels. Also has a 1200 watt amp for a 10" subwoofer that is in the center console in a box. The sub sounds pretty good but with the 1200 watt amp you can easily upgrade to some more subs or more speakers. I love the truck, but I've come to the point where I can no longer afford it. For someone who can afford this truck and has a big family, this is the perfect vehicle. Also with little upgrades, this would be an awesome car to show off especially since 1 10" sub makes the mirrors rattle. Message me for any questions regarding this vehicle. I'll be happy to answer anything and thanks for looking!

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch
Tue, 16 Jul 2013A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.
Next-gen Ford Cobra Jet development underway, but will it be a Mustang?
Wed, 09 Oct 2013Ford might be stepping away from the NHRA, but it isn't abandoning drag racing altogether. Hot Rod says that Ford confirmed a next-gen Cobra Jet factory drag racer is in the works, but the report also speculates that a new Cobra Jet could switch away from the Mustang nameplate.
Even though talk of a new Cobra Jet coincides with the all-new 2015 Mustang, the lack of confirmation for the dragster's platform leaves Hot Rod to guess that the car might switch to another platform - specifically a front-drive-based, unibody car like the Fusion or Taurus. We'd hate to think of a world with a NASCAR-ized dragster from Ford Racing, but it's also highly unlikely that the Mustang Cobra Jet would step away from its quarter-mile rivals like the Chevy COPO Camaro and Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.
