2000 Expedition Eddie Bauer on 2040-cars
Farmingville, New York, United States
up for auction is our 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition. We have owned the truck for 13 years purchased in 2001 with 22K . The car has been driven locally and as a result has only 110K (avg under 8,000 miles per year). The car is in excellent condition and has never been in an accident It has leather interior, full power, sunroof, full time 4 wheel drive, running boards, windshield visor, toe hitch ( never used), factory mag wheels with tires in excellent condition ( replaced at 83K) Everything functional and in original factory condition Have 10K in maintenance receipts from date of original purchase. Can tell you what has been done and when we did it. All my cars have records of maintenance. Have original manuals Not unusual for me to own cars for 10-20years. My wife drove a 1988 Cherokee Laredo until 2001 when we bought the Expedition. Kept that truck for over 20 years I'm a car guy. It means cars are more than just means of transportation Bought new Pilot and have no room or desire to pay insurance on a car that will now sit around Also not good for cars to sit Body in excellent condition. No dent's however has scratches on hood and passenger sides My son clearing snow off the hood with a shovel, duh!!!, the side casualties of 13 years in shopping center parking lots No rust . Been on the beach once .Had to run out keys to my Jeep before high tide. My son locked the keys in.it All in all great vehicle Currently nothing wrong with vehicle. Wind shield recently replaced. Passenger side door lock works intermittently Car is going to be sold in," in as is condition". There is no warranty offered. Although the car currently has nothing wrong with it ,it is still a 14 year old vehicle that from time to time will need maintenance The reserve is set at a fair value. it is way less than you will pay for a less expensive vehicle that will need a ton of work The car is for sale locally and can be removed from auction at any time. I have represented the truck accurately and to the best of my ability Not responsible for something minor that I failed to disclose I have been an EBAY guy for a long time and respect the institution. I will not disclose the reserve so please do not ask. Check feedback Payment through PayPal , cashier check or wire transfer. Buyers pays all shipping costs Vehicle will not be released until after funds clear Thank you for viewing my auction and email me with any questions Ron |

US Air Force Thunderbirds Mustang fetches $400K at auction
Wed, 07 Aug 2013For the last six years, Ford has created a special version of the Mustang with a military aviation theme, and then donated the car to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) to be auctioned off at the annual AirVenture event, also known as The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration. The money raised goes to the EAA Young Eagles program to inspire the "aviation pioneers of tomorrow," and this year's 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition was won with a final bid of $398,000.
Celebrating 60 years of the USAF's Thunderbirds, this Mustang GT is the only one of its kind with a paint job matching the Thunderbirds' F-16 Falcon jets and some Ford Racing performance added on for good measure. Including this car, Ford has helped raise around $2.3 million for the charity with the biggest auction price coming from the first year of the program, the F-22 Raptor-inspired Mustang AV8R from 2008, which sold for $500,000.
First Ford Mustang prototype shots caught by legendary spy shooter Jim Dunne
Fri, 12 Apr 2013You know how people refer to someone as having "been around the block" to mean they're very experienced? Well, when it comes to automotive spy photography, Jim Dunne actually laid down the concrete slabs of the block's sidewalk. The unforgettable Dunne more or less invented the car spy game - a fact he cemented by writing book called Car Spy - and has been delivering spy shots and reporting on the industry for some 45 years now. (He also once employed this writer as his impromptu personal chauffer on a Volkswagen trip in Germany, while he slept, but that's a story for a different time.)
In any event, Dunne must be on a mission to prove that "elder statesman" doesn't also mean "washed up" as it is his shots of the upcoming new 2014 Ford Mustang that we've been handed by our friends at KGP Photography.
Mr. Dunne has likely spent the last few years obtaining powerful telescopic lenses, as the Ford in question has clearly been photographed from some distance. Nevertheless, what you see here is visual evidence that the sixth-generation Mustang has moved beyond the mule stage, and is now testing in proper prototype form. Sources indicate that there are production-spec body panels under that baggy canvass dress; but the slightly less bulky silhouette of the new car can be just made out. While the car's bumpers have been removed to obfuscate things, we can tell by way of the camo's apertures that the car's taillights have moved upwards and towards the lip of the tail. A fender vent appears to be visible, too, just behind the front wheel.
Next-gen Ford Cobra Jet development underway, but will it be a Mustang?
Wed, 09 Oct 2013Ford might be stepping away from the NHRA, but it isn't abandoning drag racing altogether. Hot Rod says that Ford confirmed a next-gen Cobra Jet factory drag racer is in the works, but the report also speculates that a new Cobra Jet could switch away from the Mustang nameplate.
Even though talk of a new Cobra Jet coincides with the all-new 2015 Mustang, the lack of confirmation for the dragster's platform leaves Hot Rod to guess that the car might switch to another platform - specifically a front-drive-based, unibody car like the Fusion or Taurus. We'd hate to think of a world with a NASCAR-ized dragster from Ford Racing, but it's also highly unlikely that the Mustang Cobra Jet would step away from its quarter-mile rivals like the Chevy COPO Camaro and Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.
