2004 Ford Excursion 'Limited' 6.0 Diesel
This is an incredible vehicle. The Ford Excursion, advertised as "the largest production SUV on the planet", was discontinued in 2005. The 6.0 diesel was introduced late in 2003 which makes 2004 the first full year model run with the improved power plant. The 6.0 was engineered to be a quieter and more efficient Powerstroke than its 7.3 predecessor. The 6.0 diesel was coupled with a 5 speed automatic transmission, 140 amp alternator, dual batteries, 4 wheel disc brakes and a 44 gallon fuel tank. The vehicle currently has just over 106,000 miles on the odometer. We will continue to enjoy it until it sells. Highly desirable diesel Limited model in black with tan leather interior, and every available option. DVD dual entertainment system (with 3 wireless headsets and remote), 2nd row bucket seats, folding/removable rear seat, tow package with telescopic/heated/direction signal mirrors, Ford rear spoiler, Ford mud flaps, Ford (4 pc.) all weather mats (original carpet mats are like new), automatic climate control (w/rear controls), AM/FM 6 disc CD changer, steering wheel mounted controls (for climate control, cruise and stereo), tilt steering wheel, auto headlamps, auto dimming mirror, dual heated/power seats (with memory for driver), power adjustable pedals (with memory), fog lights, adjustable roof rack, electronic 4WD actuation, reverse sensing system, rear wiper/washer/intermittent, rear defrost, Homelink (programmable garage door opener), five (5) 12v power points, lighted running boards, engine block heater, outside temp sensor, power door windows and rear vents, power locks, keyless entry, rear 'tri' door, cargo net w/tie downs, privacy glass (front door tint added after market), more. I purchased (4) Ford 18" chrome wheels as the factory 16" wheels seemed undersized. The 18" tires are approximately 30,000 miles old with lots of tread left (one is much newer as it was damaged by road debris). The original Limited 16" chrome wheels are in nice shape (see pic, tires are originals.....) and included with the sale. Additional added accessories include: Infinity sub woofer with override power and volume control (sounds incredible), PIAA 525 series dual function fog lights, remote start, custom made bull bar (required removal of tow hooks, supplied with sale), tinted driver/passenger windows, Prodigy trailer brake controller, Timbren rear suspension kit, hood bug deflector, window wind deflectors, phone mount with stereo jack. This truck is in excellent condition. There are no known concerns. All service documentation from day one will be provided. The only non-functioning item is the rear window washer. The rear wiper is fine. Paint is shiny with normal rock chips and a 1.5 inch scratch behind the passenger side rear door. Interior is basically perfect. I would be happy to make vehicle available for inspection. We are in southern Maine through next Friday 7/11 then back in NY as of Saturday. Please contact me to coordinate. No warranty is offered or implied. Pick up only unless you arrange for shipping upon payment in full. Immediate payment of $500 due via PayPal at auction end. Balance due as certified funds or cash when vehicle is picked up. We are only selling this vehicle to downsize. I have very mixed feelings about selling it. If we cannot get our asking price I will not be disappointed to keep it. Two of our three kids are now in college. We've downsized the camper. It's just too much vehicle for our needs now. There are many miles to go for another family to enjoy in this truck! Thanks for looking and good luck! |

Want to buy a brand-new 1964 Ford Mustang? [w/video]
Wed, Mar 18 2015Even in its current iteration, the Ford Mustang is not without its share of heritage design cues. But if it's a more classic look of the first-gen pony car you're after, combined with modern levels of equipment, Revology just might have the answer. The Orlando-based company makes what you might call "continuation" Mustangs, using replica steel bodies made by Dynacorn and licensed by Ford to give it that classic look, but with modern technology. Under the skin you'll find a 5.0-liter fuel-injected V8 with 265 horsepower and either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, but the powertrain is just the start. It's also got a MacPherson strut suspension, disc brakes, power steering and a cabin equipped with such modern accoutrements as power door locks and seats, keyless entry, intermittent wipers, even Bluetooth connectivity. And it's all covered by a one-year, unlimited-milage warranty, plus five-year corrosion protection and three-year powertrain warranty. Of course none of that comes cheap, as a turnkey Revology Mustang will set you back at least $119,500, in the buyer's choice of fastback or convertible body-styles. The first example was unveiled at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance this past weekend, with the first customer examples set for delivery next year. This content is hosted by a third party. Social media star Scott Monty leaves Ford
Thu, 22 May 2014It seems weird to think that an automaker could have a social media star, but Ford does. Or at least it did. Scott Monty, its Global Digital Communications Manager, led the company's team for almost six years and forged a reputation as being one of the most talented people in corporate social media. But the guru recently announced that he would be leaving the automaker for an undisclosed job elsewhere.
"I just decided the time was right. I am going to take a little time with my family, and I am going to start on a new adventure pretty soon," said Monty in an interview with AdWeek. He also explained a little about his theory of how companies should use social media. In his opinion, it should be a chance to go beyond standard marketing and build a relationship with people. Businesses need to have a broad focus for its online message, and using just one service isn't enough to be successful.
Under his guidance, Ford expanded its Facebook presence significantly. According to AdWeek, it launched the 2010 Explorer on the popular site. Also, when the company wanted to investigate selling electric models, it initially gauged the public's reaction on Facebook and then advertised them there first. Monty has been a major supporter of Twitter as well to broaden the company's communication with the public.
Ford to build Explorer in Russia to meet demand [w/video]
Fri, 12 Apr 2013The current Ford Explorer is sold in more than 64 countries, and this three-row vehicle continues to grow in popularity worldwide. To keep up with demand, Ford began producing the Explorer at Ford Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in Tatarstan, Russia, a joint venture facility. This partnership will build Russian-market Explorers only, and production of export vehicles not destined for Russian buyers will continue to be built at Ford's assembly plant in Chicago.
Before this plant went online, Ford would ship Explorers to Russia (and other regions around the world) as partially assembled knock-down units where final assembly would eventually take place. While there is no indication as to how many Explorers Ford Sollers will build for Russia, Ford did add that exports of the SUV were up 65 percent last year (from 2011) accounting for more than 24,000 units.
Scroll down for a press release about the Russian Explorer as well as a video (bad music and all) showing the SUV being produced in Tatarstan.
