2000 Ford Excursion Limited Sport Utility 4-door 5.4l on 2040-cars
Nabb, Indiana, United States
THE GOOD:
VEHICLE STARTS AND RUNS EVERYDAY. IT HAS BEEN A DAILY DRIVER. ONLY REASON I'M SELLING IS BECAUSE I HAD A FRIEND THAT HAD A 4X4 EXCURSION AND I BOUGHT IT FOR THE 4X4, SO SELLING THIS ONE. IT IS NOT A 4X4. IT IS A V8 SO FOR AN EXCURSION....IT'S NOT TOO BAD ON THE FUEL MILEAGE. I GET AN AVERAGE OF 13-14MPG. IT HAS LEATHER SEATS. IT RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. TITLE IN HAND. I WOULD DRIVE IT TO TENNESSEE TODAY (AFTER I REPLACED TIRES AND PUT ON NEW BRAKES). IT'S DEPENDABLE. VEHICLE SEATS 8 PEOPLE COMFORTABLY. LARGE STORAGE AREA IN BACK. HAS A TOWING HITCH. THE BAD: POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS NOT WORKING. THE LOCKS HAVE BEEN OUT FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND RECENTLY THE WINDOWS QUITE GOING UP AND DOWN. THE CD PLAYER ISN'T WORKING BUT I BELIEVE THE 6DISC CD CHANGER IN THE CONSOLE IS STILL WORKING. THE RADIO WORKS JUST FINE. IT WILL NEED TIRES & BRAKES PRETTY SOON. IT HAS A SIZABLE TEAR IN THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT THAT IS VISIBLE IN THE PICTURES. A SEAT COVER WOULD TAKE CARE OF THAT AS FAR AS LOOKS. THE REMAINDER OF THE LEATHER IS ALL IN GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THERE ISN'T ANY OTHER RIPPING OR TEARING OF THE SEATS. |

How and why Ford is rolling out Vignale in Europe
Wed, 09 Oct 2013
We know that Ford is positioning the new, upscale Vignale brand in Europe to fill a niche market of customers who want a bit more luxury, a lot more service and the same reliability and dependability that a non-Vignale Ford offers. But so far, we've been in the dark regarding how the Blue Oval will sell Vignale vehicles, how many of them will be created, and what the new sub-brand has in store for the future.
Gaetano Thorel, Ford's European marketing head, recently was interviewed by Automotive News and shared details about Ford Vignale. Thorel says, "The Vignale trim line will be priced like an ST model but attract a completely different type of customer." Specifically, he says it will attract customers in the upper 15 percent of the price band who don't want a performance-oriented ST model. He adds that Vignale cars will be about 10 percent more expensive than Titanium-trim cars. About 500 of Ford's European dealers will sell Vignale Fords, Thorel says, "in areas that make sense." The automaker expects 10 percent of its European sales to be Vignale cars, which equates to about 5 percent of its global sales. When asked if there are any other Vignale models planned beyond the Mondeo, Thorel said, "There is nothing written in stone yet."
John Hennessey's personal 2015 HPE700 Supercharged Ford Mustang GT hits 195 mph
Wed, Feb 11 2015Dressed in a coat of menacing black paint, the 2015 Hennessey Performance HPE700 Supercharged Ford Mustang GT definitely looks like one mean muscle machine. The 717-horsepower 'Stang proved that it can back up that aggressive appearance recently when company founder John Hennessey took his personal example to see just how fast it would go. The result down the 1.1-mile straight at the Continental Tires Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, was over 195 miles per hour. The Mustang is nothing but a black blur and wall of supercharger wail as it buzzes by the camera at top speed. Despite the strong result, Hennessey doesn't seem done with the 'Stang yet. The car still seems to be pulling when it hits the rev limiter, and there's some straight track left ahead. After getting out, John Hennessey immediately says he thinks 200 mph is possible. The heart of the HPE700 is a 2.9-liter Roots-Type supercharger running at 7.25 psi. That's a pretty massive blower, especially when considering the 2.4-liter unit on the Hellcat V8. The engine also gets upgrades like improved injectors, a new fuel pump, stainless steel exhaust and recalibrated management. The company claims the upgraded Mustang can hit 60 in around 3.6 seconds and do the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph. Prices for the package start at $59,500, but this one would would ring up for $65,874. Hennessey Performance is limiting production to 500 of them for the 2015 model year. 2015 HPE700 Supercharged Mustang Rockets to 195.2 mph John Hennessey takes his personal Mustang GT on a Texas road trip Uvalde, Texas-Everything is bigger in Texas, especially when it comes to automotive performance. Texas also lays claim to the highest posted speed limit in America at 85 mph. Enter the team from Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) who are located just west of Houston. John Hennessey and his merry band of performance car builders like to go fast, so much so that they have their own 1/4 mile dragstrip next to their workshop. Recently, the Hennessey team wanted to test their 717 horsepower HPE700 Supercharged Mustang development car (John's personal car and occasional daily driver) beyond the 130+ mph speeds that they have seen on the dragstrip. "Thankfully, we had recently received an invitation from the guys at the Continental Tires proving grounds in Uvalde to come over and do some testing on their 8.0 mile high speed oval", said Hennessey.
2015 Ford Mustang Convertible to recreate Empire State Building stunt
Tue, 25 Mar 2014It would have been all too easy to miss the auto show debut of the 2015 Ford Mustang convertible. It was, after all, unveiled alongside its fixed-roof counterpart at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, lumping coupe and cabrio into one debut. But Ford is evidently still intent on making its new droptop stand out. The top of the Empire State Building ought to do the trick.
Automotive history buffs may recall that, 50 years ago, Ford unveiled its first Mustang convertible atop what was then the tallest building in the world, that Art Deco icon of the New York skyline. Half a century later, Ford is recreating the feat and bringing the new topless Mustang to the same observation deck on the building's 86th floor.
Getting it up there, of course, will be no easy task. While they'd usually airlift the vehicle onto the roof or lift it by crane, the spire protruding from atop the building makes approaching the narrow observation deck too dangerous, and no mobile crane can telescope the thousand-plus feet it would take to get the pony car up there.
