2000 Ford Excursion XLT
5.4L V8 Gas Engine
4X4
Limo Style Rear Interior w/ Bar
32,495 Original miles
This vehicle was originally purchased by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) New York City Field Office. It
was used for 2 years and put into a reserve fleet. Our limousine company purchased it from them and converted the
rear compartment into a 5 passenger limo. Conversion included adding a center lighted bar with separate Bluetooth
stereo system, divider, 2 rear facing bucket seats, and moving the rear seat back for leg room. We do still have
the 2nd row seat so this vehicle may very easily be put back to stock interior wise. Our company has used this
truck for dinner dates, wine tours, and diplomatic transportation. The truck was outfitted with mounts for a snow
plow this past fall but due to not having ANY snow this winter NEVER HAD A PLOW HOOKED TO IT!! Prior to sale plow
mounts will be removed as well as emergency lights on dash and license plate, and subwoofer.
THIS TRUCK RUNS AND DRIVES PERFECTLY WITH NO ISSUES!!!!!! Exterior has been modified with HID projector headlights,
blackout billet grille, black painted bumper, blackout wheel covers, and limo window tinting (professional.) Tires
are all brand new goodyear wranglers with silent armor tires in the rear. Dome lights and running board lights have
been upgraded to LED.
Pictures do this vehicle NO JUSTICE. this is the coolest looking and nicest driving Excursion you will find. This
SUV has spent most of its life sitting in a heated garage. We are selling this only because our stretch limos rent
more than this vehicle so we have decided to invest more into them. This has been more of a fun toy for our
company.

Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. The full list of recommendations is available on CR's website.

Crowdsource funding push on to save historic Ford buildings

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Detroit has no shortage of old, abandoned buildings, both within the city and in the surrounding communities. Few, though, have the historical significance of the old Ford Highland Park facility. Home to the very first moving assembly line, Highland Park was designed by the legendary Albert Kahn, and was one of the homes of the Model T.
Now, the Woodward Avenue Action Association is attempting to buy both the 40,000-square-foot admin building, which is located off the historic Woodward Avenue, and an 8,000-square-foot garage. The WAAA's goal is to convert the buildings into an automotive heritage center. The Detroit News spoke to the interim director of the WAAA, Deborah Schutt, who commented, "[Metro Detroit has] not been very good at telling our own story. So we've decided, let's pull everything together and tell our story."
The WAAA made an offer of $550,000 to buy the two buildings, and has $400,000 from the Michigan Department of Transportation and another $15,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It's trying to raise a further $125,000 through crowd-sourcing, starting a campaign called "Five Dollars A Day," after old Hank Ford's $5-per-day wage for line workers.

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy

Tue, 07 May 2013

With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.
