For sale is a one owner 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid with a clean Autocheck report. It runs and drives 100%, is very fuel efficient and is being sold with no reserve. The 2.3L four cylinder gas/electric engine purrs along without a miss or fluid loss. No "check engine" lights or hybrid warning lights. The hybrid system is working perfectly. It charges and assists as necessary and the auto stop engages when stopped. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly without hesitation. The brakes, steering and suspension are in good working order. This is a front wheel drive model that is more fuel efficient that the all wheel drive model. The exterior is a glossy silver. There are no major dents or dings. There is, however, a strange rust spot behind the right rear door (see pic). The lights and lenses are bright and clear. No windshield cracks or chips. The tires, on factory alloy wheels, have about 10% tread. The interior is gray. The floor is a clean carpet without wear spots and the seats are easy maintenance vinyl made to look like leather. The interior is in very good condition. All the power options such as cruise control, side mirrors, windows, locks, etc. work as designed. There is a factory sound system with CD. The heat is hot and the AC is cold. Every item on this Escape is functioning perfectly. There are no current mechanical issues and no indication of any impending problems. The 2015 Ford Mustang is not so mellow in yellow
Tue, 14 Jan 2014When we first saw the 2015 Ford Mustang, much was made of its new, more expressive color palette, which includes the return of both yellow and orange in addition to a new grayish shade, Guard. At that time, we didn't have anything to look at but a few small scale models painted in the new colors - the only Mustangs on display were in Race Red.
For its auto show debut here at in the Motor City, Ford has trotted out a couple of as-yet-unseen shades, including the striking Triple Yellow shown above. The new shade marks a return to a paint color that enthusiasts have been clamoring for, and we must say, it looks excellent under the lights of Cobo Hall.
Stat wise, there are still a number of questions we have about the redesigned Mustang. None of the three engines have had official power figures published. The same goes for pricing information, although if any loose-lipped execs let something slip in Detroit, we'll be sure to let you know. 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost flogged and analyzed by Ignition
Mon, 13 Oct 2014Aside from the way it looks and perhaps its independent rear suspension, the biggest bit of news on the 2015 Mustang may be the inclusion of its 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. That blown mill marks the first time since the Mustang SVO of the '80s that a turbo has been fitted under the engine of Ford's pony car.
The Mustang EcoBoost is the subject of the latest episode of Ignition from Motor Trend, giving us a great look at the technical, nitty-gritty side of the turbocharged coupe. Covering it from bow to stern, host Carlos Lago walks us through the boosted Ford before taking to the track for some driving impressions, with particular praise given to the low-end grunt of the 2.3-liter mill.

This 2,000-hp Mustang is in serious need of wheelie bars
Tue, 25 Feb 2014The Ford Mustang on the right is drag racing with the standard technique. The Mustang on the left, driven by David Measell, is using a new "rear bumper only" technique that evidently surprised everyone at the South Georgia Motorsports Park strip - including Measell.
Measell said his outfit just bought the car the week before the event, noting that it has more than 2,000 horsepower. Speaking of his "flying" run, Measell said, "We turned it up to dip on down," by which he meant they turned up the power in order to get his time down. Turns out all that power and all that traction sent the nose straight up into the air almost as soon as the race began.
He told an interviewer afterward that this was his first race in a "regular car" since he normally drives a pro-mod. "I like my wheelie bars," he concluded. You can see how he got there in the video below.
