This vehicle has a "rebuilt" branded title. It was wrecked in Florida in 2012. It was repaired by Auction Direct in Miami in summer of 2012. I purchased the car from the Florida seller with full knowledge of the damage and a picture of the Escape before it was repaired (see pictures). No airbag deployment and relatively minor right front damage. I wanted to try a Ford Escape for my personal vehicle, but had no idea of how I would like a Hybrid. I thought this would be a cheap way to test out the Hybrid.
This has been my personal car since August 2012. I have recently purchased another Ford Escape Hybrid as I have had a very good experience with this one that is for sale. The mileage has been impressive for an SUV. I don't know of another SUV that gets the 30 MPG I have gotten with this one. I've driven several Rav4's, a Mazda Tribute, and a regular Escape.
I hold a Texas Dealer License, so I change cars a couple of times a year. If you are a Texas buyer, please be prepared to pay for Texas sales tax, title transfer fees, registration, etc. at the time you pay me for this Escape. I do not add any fees.
The Escape is sold with a SATISFACTION GUARANTEE. If you arrive to pick up the car and don't want it for any reason, you are not obligated to complete the sale, and your deposit will be refunded in full. If you purchase the car and want me to assist you with shipping or delivery, I am happy to do so, but the car must be PAID IN FULL before it leaves my house. Once it leaves my house, there is no guarantee or warranty.
I am a local County Judge and I have no desire to cheat you or rip you off. I believe you will get a great buy on a low mile Escape with plenty of life left in it, and despite it's damage history, it makes very decent transportation.
THE BAD ABOUT THIS ESCAPE....Rebuilt Title (totaled by insurance company and sold at auction), rear tires need to be replaced within 5,000 miles, front tires within 10,000 miles. The SERVICE SOON message and icon comes on from time to time. There is a buzzing noise inside of one of the A/C vents to the right of the radio that occurs when you don't run the fan. I dont know what makes the noise. It hasn't been a bother for me since i ususally have some kind of fan running for heat or air conditioning. Low tire pressure light occasionally comes on due to a slow leak in right rear tire. Air it up and the low pressure light goes off.
THE GOOD ABOUT THIS ESCAPE.....Low Miles, around 67,500. Title indicates not actual miles as with any rebuilt title, however the AutoCheck history seems to indicate the miles at the time i purchased it were correct. Great mileage, averaging around 30 MPG. Charging system and hybrid battery indicate all's well. Recent brake job about 4,000 miles ago.
I live in Mt Pleasant, TX (Titus County), but the Escape is located in North Dallas with my 30 year old son so that it is more accessible for buyers; You may inspect it at his workplace, Central Expressway at Park Lane. Inspections are welcome and encouraged.
Please check out my SELLER FEEDBACK on previous sales of Cars and Motorcycles. No negative feedback, all happy customers. I want to keep it that way.
If you need assistance with shipping, I will be glad to offer you guidance, but the final decision as to who to hire will be YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
$500 deposit via PayPal is due within 24 hours of auction end, balance due within 5 days. I will transfer the title for you and mail you Texas license plates (if you are a Texas buyer). If you are an out of town buyer, I will give you clear title at time of pickup, or I will mail you the title.
Please call with any questions or email me. Thanks, Brian titusjudge at gmail dot com or 903-466-6666

2018 Ford Expedition vs other big SUVs: How it compares on paper
Fri, Nov 10 2017With our Alex Kierstein rightly impressed in his first-drive review of the new 2018 Ford Expedition, we decided to dig a little deeper into the numbers, and we came up with the spreadsheet below to highlight how the new 2018 Expedition compares on paper to its main full-size SUV competitors: the 2018 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban (and therefore the 2018 GMC Yukon), 2018 Toyota Sequoia and 2018 Nissan Armada. We also threw in the new, even bigger 2018 Chevrolet Traverse since, as you'll see, its massive dimensions should put it on the radar for anyone who needs loads of passenger and cargo space but doesn't care as much about towing. A few notes about the chart above. First, the 6.2-liter V8 that's included with the new-for-2018 Tahoe RST trim level is the standard engine on the GMC Yukon Denali. You can apply most of the Tahoe's numbers to the entire Yukon and Yukon XL lineup. Second, though we highlighted categories where the Traverse led, we also highlighted the runner-up full-size SUV, since this was ultimately about that segment. Traverse numbers are broadly applicable to the new Buick Enclave. Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars
Tue, Mar 10 2015Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.
Ford says C-Max mpg reduction has hurt sales
Tue, 22 Apr 2014The Ford C-Max is having a rough time. Sales for the five-door hybrid hatchback were down 39.1 percent in March to 2,295 cars, and sales from January through March were down 42.5 percent to 5,566 units. In an interview with The Detroit News, Ford Americas boss Joe Hinrichs places the blame on lowering the model's fuel economy rating.
"We're definitely seeing consideration on C-Max decline over time. We need to reinvest in the product because it's a great car," said Hinrichs to The Detroit News.
The company was hit with bad publicity over the C-Max when owners in multiple states filed class action lawsuits that alleged the cars weren't able to meet the stated fuel economy. Ford eventually re-rated the model from 47 miles per gallon city, highway and combined to 40 mpg city, 45 mpg highway and 43 mpg combined. To soften the blow of the change, the automaker sent checks to the owners to make up some of the difference. Initially, Ford claimed that demand remained strong for the hybrid. However, the latest sales figures and Hinrichs' statement seem to show the opposite.
