Very good low mile, Alaska vehicle with a strong & powerful engine. Cannot do doughnuts due to traction control feature. Did not install studded tires last winter and car performed beautifully. Never slipped or lost control. Comes equipped with standard sized towing receiver. Already wired for towing. I've towed with it many times. Very good tow vehicle. Can tow toys on toy trailers, can tow work trailers, or small travel trailer without problem. Plug in ipod or cellphone, sound comes from vehicle speakers. Very nice to hear personal custom ipod or cellphone music or programs over vehicle speaker. I've owned it for about 2.5 years. Selling vehicle due to moving out of state. Don't want the expense of driving it down to Florida. Before I bought it, I had certified mechanic do complete check as it is a reconstructed title. Mechanic said it is a good vehicle and would buy it himself. No leaks. New brake pads as of late 2013. Current on maintenance needs. I use Mobil 1 long mileage synthetic motor oil in it.Still has about 5k miles before oil needs changed.

Tan and grey interior. Tinted windows.

No scams. In person buyers only.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.

Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.

The List #0178: Attend Rally School

Tue, Apr 7 2015

Jessi and Patrick attend Team O'Neil Rally School in Dalton, NH, to learn how to shred in the snow. Veteran instructor and school founder Tim O'Neil demonstrates left-foot braking, slalom techniques, turning, proper ways to blip the throttle and more in this episode. They get behind the wheel of modern Ford Fiestas with front-wheel drive and a vintage Audi Quattro with all-wheel drive. They catch on quickly, and O'Neil tells Patrick: "Tell your grandchildren you are a rally driver." Watch as our hosts check "attend rally school" off their list. Have an RSS feed?
