We are selling our 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid Limited. This is a great vehicle that gets fantastic mileage for it's size, over 30 MPG city (34 mpg) and highway (31 mpg). You can cruise in electric mode up to 35 miles per hour. We are only selling it because our family has grown and we now need a third row of seats, yikes. This car has a leather interior in great condition, heated front seats, keyless entry, Sirius radio, rear backup sensors, running boards, moon roof, roof rack cross bars, etc. The connectivity through Microsoft Sync is great, you just tell it who you want to call or what song, album or playlist you want to listen to. The mileage is low as we don't drive a lot, and most of the miles are highway miles when we did drive upstate. There are a couple dents, one on the rear bumper and one on the driver's side rear door. The price of the car has been discounted $2000 from the Bluebook value to reflect the price to have these repaired. Mechanically the car is fantastic and still has two years and 25,500 miles remaining on an extended warranty that I will transfer to the buyer, an $800 value (plus any savings should anything actually go wrong). I've had the oil changed regularly and have records. There is also a Weathertech rubber liner for the trunk which is included, so the original carpet below is like new. Ford Mondeo with 1.5-liter EcoBoost debuts in China

Does the car above, posing fancifully in white, look familiar? Well, it should. Although it wears Mondeo badges in the form you see above for the Chinese market - as it does in Europe - the car is basically the same thing sold in the US as the Ford Fusion. Of course, it's what's under that shapely skin that counts.
Ford has chosen the Shanghai Motor Show as the venue with which to unveil its 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. We'd heard about the engine before, but now we have a few performance estimates to share: 133 kW of power (about 178 horsepower) and 240 Nm of torque (about 177 pound-feet).
Those numbers pretty much confirm previous rumors indicating about 177 in each category, and it's right on par with what Ford's own 1.6-liter EcoBoost produces. Ford is claiming best-in-class fuel economy as well, but no specific figures have yet been provided. In any case, we'll surely have all the data soon enough, as the 1.5-liter mill is destined for the US Fusion in 2014.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.

Ford recalls Five Hundred, Mercury Montego sedans over fuel tank woes

Ford has announced through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is recalling nearly 3,000 examples of its Five Hundred and Mercury Montego (pictured) sedans from the 2007 model year.
The action, which affects 2,945 vehicles, is due to potentially defective welds between the filler neck and the fuel tank, a condition that could result in a fuel leak or the smell of gasoline reaching the occupants. In the worst-case scenario, a leak could cause a fire. Cars with the affected fuel tank problem could see an illuminated dashboard warning light as a result of the evaporative emissions leak being detected.
Ford will inspect and replace the fuel tank at no cost to owners (those who have already had the procedure done at-cost can apply for reimbursement), and the Dearborn automaker will begin notifying Five Hundred and Montego owners beginning August 15.
