COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Who is England Motorcoach (EM) ?

We are an family-owned independent licensed car dealer in Delaware focusing on European makes such as Mercedes, Audi, BMW and Porsche.

Who Should Bid

Only individuals who have their finances pre-approved or have cash on hand to finalize the transaction should bid on any eBay motors auctions. Bidders with under 80 feedback please contact us prior to bidding. We take much time and dedicate a lot of energy to our listings as should be evident by the usual 50+ photo's taken of each vehicle.  Please bid responsibly.  You are encouraged to give us a call directly to discuss any aspect of the vehicle you are interested on and put a deal together.

Where is England Motorcoach located?

We are located in New Castle, Delaware 19720.  All vehicles are located at our indoor warehouse facility.

What is the source for your inventory?

Our specialty is pre-owned imports such as Mercedes, Audi and Porsche including recent trade-ins and off-lease models with exceedingly low miles, complete service histories and all books, keys and records. Many of our vehicles are purchased directly through dealer-only auctions with condition reports and clean titles. We take the time to individually assess each vehicle prior to purchasing to ensure they meet our standards and hopefully our clients' expectations. We also purchase from estate sales, liquidations, repossessed vehicles and through insurance auctions. Any salvage branded vehicle will be noted up front (hail, stolen, etc) and we do not purchase flood vehicles.

Do you have all titles on hand for your vehicles?

It depends on the vehicle. Typically once payment is made we will use that payment to release the title. Titles may be held at our location, at banks, other dealerships, the state, or other locations. Titles typically get mailed though Certified Mail within 7 business days once payment has cleared.  We are a licensed and bonded dealer in Delaware and guarantee clear titles on all vehicles that we offer unless otherwise stated.

What "other" fees are there besides the vehicle's purchase price?

The other fees include any government related fees, shipping (if applicable) and documentation charges.  If you live in Delaware, you must pay 3.75% of the sales price of the car as a tax to the state when at the DMV/MVA registering the vehicle for title. We do not collect that fee at the time of sale.  All buyers are required to pay a $40.75 Inspection Fee. There is a $163 service fee which includes detailing the vehicle, inspecting the vehicle, and checking tires and fluids before shipment or sale.  There is also a $279 doc fee for handling paperwork, filing titles, mailing and copying costs. These fees are fixed and are non negotiable.

How is shipping of the vehicle arranged, can I get a quote?

We are happy to handle all of the details of shipping your new vehicle to its new home.  Send an email to englandmotorcoach@verizon.net with your zip code and the car or truck you need to ship, we will get back to you with a firm quote on shipping to your location. Some common shipping terms include:

  • Open Carrier - This is the most economical way to transport a vehicle. Typically your vehicle will be on a trailer of 8-10 other cars that are being delivered to other individuals or businesses as well. There is a small potential risk of rock and element damage since the vehicle is not enclosed. Many higher dollar and specialty cars must be shipped enclosed carrier
  • Enclosed Carrier - This method is more expensive, but eliminates potential the possibility of damage from road debris and the elements.
  • Insurance Coverage - Each carrier has insurance coverage. Typically vehicle transporters have coverage of at least 1 million dollars, but it depends on the company and driver. England Motorcoach shall NOT be liable or responsible for the safe shipment of vehicles. There is a very small chance that there could be some minor damage incurred during shipping any vehicle. The Buyer is responsible for working with the Driver or Shipping Company's insurance company if this were to ever occur.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, money order, finance checks from your local bank or credit union and certified cashier checks drawn on US Banks in US funds.  We are also happy to arrange financing for you. Please ONLY bid if you have enough money to cover payment or have approved financing either from your bank or from us.

Do you do any financing?

Yes, We have Financing Rates starting as low as 2.9%

In most cases it takes less than a day to get credit applications decisioned and finalized.

Ford F-Series Super Duty prototype reduced to smoldering mess of aluminum and steel [UPDATE]

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

The most important bit of information you need to know after looking through our high-res gallery of images depicting a prototype 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck burning to the ground is that nobody was hurt. There were two engineers inside the vehicle when it caught fire, and both exited to safety.
That's the good news. The bad news is that the truck, which appears to have been testing in Death Valley, appears to be a total loss, minus, of course, whatever information Ford can glean from the conflagration - particularly tracing it back to its root cause. Besides that, we're also expecting the body of the next Super Duty to be hewn from aluminum, as is the case with its smaller brother, the brand-new F-150. Note the little aluminum droppings littering the roadway as apparent proof of that.
Our spy photographers report that it took just 21 minutes for the F-Series Super Duty to burn completely to the ground. The fire appears to have started in the driver-side front wheel well, spreading to engulf the entire front end in three minutes. We can't confirm the source of the blaze, but we're curious if the car's black vinyl cladding, meant to obscure the secrets within, contributed to the fire.

Concentrated ST Formula Proves Just As Potent
I'm not the jealous type... usually. But I will fully admit to being somewhat of a Pouty Polly when I read executive editor Chris Paukert's report after driving the then-new 2013 Ford Focus ST through the impossibly pretty southern French Alps region last June. I feel like a broken record saying this yet again, but hot hatchbacks hold a special place in my heart. And while I'm always giddy to drive any sort of small, turbocharged three- or five-door at home in Detroit, my jealousy was indeed piqued after hearing Paukert tell about the challenging yet breathtaking roads he encountered while driving the flamin' yellow Focus. You know, the sort of roads that, from above, look like carelessly drizzled lines of icing on the frosted Alpen caps.
Several months later, I found myself piloting a Focus ST just west of metro Detroit, pitting it head-to-head against one of Autoblog's perennial favorite cars, the Volkswagen GTI. It was fantastic - enough so that I fully stand behind my statement that in terms of balls-out performance, the Focus ST cannot be beat as far as today's front-wheel-drive hatches are concerned.

Rising aluminum costs cut into Ford's profit

Wed, Jan 24 2018

When Ford reports fourth-quarter results on Wednesday afternoon, it is expected to fret that rising metals costs have cut into profits, even as rivals say they have the problem under control. Aluminum prices have risen 20 percent in the last year and nearly 11 percent since Dec. 11. Steel prices have risen just over 9 percent in the last year. Ford uses more aluminum in its vehicles than its rivals. Aluminum is lighter but far more expensive than steel, closing at $2,229 per tonne on Tuesday. U.S. steel futures closed at $677 per ton (0.91 metric tonnes). Republican U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is weighing whether to impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, which could push prices even higher. Ford gave a disappointing earnings estimate for 2017 and 2018 last week, saying the higher costs for steel, aluminum and other metals, as well as currency volatility, could cost the company $1.6 billion in 2018. Ford shares took a dive after the announcement. Ford Chief Financial Officer Bob Shanks told analysts at a conference in Detroit last week that while the company benefited from low commodity prices in 2016, rising steel prices were now the main cause of higher costs, followed by aluminum. Shanks said the automaker at times relies on foreign currencies as a "natural hedge" for some commodities but those are now going in the opposite direction, so they are not working. A Ford spokesman added that the automaker also uses a mix of contracts, hedges and indexed buying. Industry analysts point to the spike in aluminum versus steel prices as a plausible reason for Ford's problems, especially since it uses far more of the expensive metal than other major automakers. "When you look at Ford in the context of the other automakers, aluminum drives a lot of their volume and I think that is the cause" of their rising costs, said Jeff Schuster, senior vice president of forecasting at auto consultancy LMC Automotive. Other major automakers say rising commodity costs are not much of a problem. At last week's Detroit auto show, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV's Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne reiterated its earnings guidance for 2018 and held forth on a number of topics, but did not mention metals prices. General Motors Co gave a well-received profit outlook last week and did not mention the subject. "We view changes in raw material costs as something that is manageable," a GM spokesman said in an email.
