Ford E350 4x4 Van Sportsmobile on 2040-cars

2006 Ford E350 4X4 Van, with a 6.0 liter diesel.  I purchased this van just after it was professionally converted to a 4X4.  It's a coil over conversion, similar to what Salem Kroger used to do. It's got a Dana 60 front end from a 2008 F350.  Procomp suspension with about 6" of lift.
Since purchase, I've invested over $15K in making the van expedition-ready.  This includes the camper interior, as well as mechanical upgrades, all of which I have receipts for.

Upgrades completed within the last year and a half:

  • bulletproof EGR cooler and oil cooler
  • 2 new high performance batteries
  • new alternator
  • new FICM, injectors
  • new fuel pump
  • all new steel braided heating and cooling hoses
  • new wiring harness, entire electrical system gone through
  • new turbo inlet pipe and boot
  • new brake pads and vacuum pump
  • viper alarm with kill switch
  • pioneer stereo with speakers
  • roof rack

  • new insulation at floor and side panels
  • new floor
  • new sportsmobile couch/bed completely re-upholstered
  • new cabinet with aluminum trim
  • insulated window coverings

The interior was built for sleeping comfort and gear storage, I left out the stove and sink to have a more open floorplan and for more room for toys.  I had an outside kitchen set up that worked for my needs, but the stove/sink cabinet area could be easily added.

*this is the dream van, but I now need a daily driver for work, so I'm going back to a Tacoma with pop up camper on the back.

*available for local pick up, or could arrange shipping for an additional price.

For those curious about the odometer discrepancy, I had this investigated when I bought the van, and there were no signs of rollback, all of the numbers matched. I bought it from Javier, who builds and sells 4X4 vans, and has established a good reputation. He assured me that nothing was tampered with, and my third party inspector backed him up, and also added that the software to rollback a digital odometer costs thousands of dollars and requires extensive knowledge.

In short, I don't know where the discrepancy comes from, but the majority of the van build only has about 12K miles on it, and I've invested a lot into making the engine bulletproof and problem-free. All the work is recent, well documented, and done at the best diesel performance shop in northern california.

Thanks for looking.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.

Automakers donating money, vehicles and supplies to Oklahoma tornado relief effort

Fri, 24 May 2013

Judging by the destruction the Oklahoma City area experienced earlier this week, residents are going to need a lot of help in coming months. Fortunately, a number of automakers - including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Honda and Toyota - have stepped up to donate money, supplies and vehicles to aid in the recovery and rebuilding processes.
Here's a quick rundown of which automakers have pitched in and what each contributed so far:
Ford Motor Company has donating $250,000 and a Transit Connect to the American Red Cross, and it will match all other donations made to the Red Cross (up to $250,000) using a special URL tied to the latter's website (link here). Additionally, its local Oklahoma dealers have thrown in an extra $150,000 for the United Way and the automaker will be offering an extra $500 toward the purchase of a new Ford vehicle.

2015 Ford Mustang GT [w/video]

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

At 50 years old, the object of fantasies, a tuner's dream, a movie star and more than nine million strong, it couldn't be truer to say that the Ford Mustang needs no introduction. This newest Mustang, however - making the biggest changes we've seen to the pony car since perhaps 1964.5 - is something Ford has been introducing all year.
We went on a Deep Dive, covered the way it looks when it was revealed, detailed the engine specs, got a ride in the EcoBoost and listened to the V8, got rolling footage and watched it do a standard-feature burnout.
The only thing left to do? Drive it. Having now done so for a few hours around Los Angeles, what we can tell you is to forget everything you know about the Mustang. This new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment.
