This sale is for a:
1996 Ford E350 1-ton SuperVan Chateau 15 passenger window van. I have owned this van since new. I purchased it in Marquette, Michigan and drove it to where we lived in Casa Grande, Arizona. The raised roof was installed along with the UVL (under vehicle lift) wheelchair lift in Phoenix, Arizona.

The van spent most of its life in the southwest. Five years in Casa Grande, AZ and six years in El Paso, TX. It is has been in Marquette, MI since October of 2006.

There are some areas of rust starting to appear. Some of the pictures show the spots. I have not noticed any rust outs, but where paint has lifted and the metal surface has been exposed to the elements, the surface is rusted.

The front seats were reupholstered, but the driver’s seat is coming apart at the seam were it is rubbed getting in and out. The rest of the seats are original and are in excellent condition. I don’t think the rear seat has ever been sat in. It had been removed for the UVL electric/hydraulic pump system. All the passenger seats to make it a 15 passenger van are included. The one right behind the drivers seat is not mounted as to allow access for a wheelchair. The wheelchair tie-down straps are included and the floor tabs are still installed. The rear seat is included but is not installed as the UVL electric/hydraulic system is mounted in the back and takes up part of the room required to mount the seat. The present configuration allows for eight people seated and one wheelchair tied down.

The carpet is showing it’s age with some wear and stains. No smells!

All the gauges work. The factory original radio with cassette player works. The dual air conditioning works. The rear heater is presently disconnected due to a leak in the line that runs above the UVL from the engine to the heater.

It runs the original 7.3 Power Stroke Diesel engine which had rebuilt injectors and new glow plugs installed for the first time last year. New injector harnesses were installed as well. The engine has had the oil changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles depending on the severity of the weather and the use of the vehicle. I did do some towing with it in the heat and through the mountains so would change the oil more often.

The brakes were all gone through almost 2 years ago with new drums, rotors, pads, shoes, etc.

The transmission was replaced at a Ford dealer in El Paso, about 10 years ago. It still works well, and as the engine, it has received regular maintenance.

The Traction-Lock rear end was rebuild about 6 years ago, due to a bad bearing on the unit.

The rear hub-caps are missing. Plastic tabs broke and at different times the hubcaps passed me while going down the road. The aluminum wheels are showing their age and could use a stripping, polishing and a clear coating in order to look good again. But they serve well as they are.

All five tires are 16 inch radial tires with very good tread left on them.

If you purchase the van, you are welcome to all the records I have available on it.

The UVL has not been used in at least 6-8 months, and was operating slowly when last used. It should be cleaned and serviced as needed.

Lately (lack of use?) it has given me a few times when it would not start right up. If I let it sit for a few minutes and go back to it, let the glow plugs cycle, and crank it, it fires right up. Every time the dealer hooks the tester up to it, it starts right up. They have not been able to get a trouble code on it. The thinking at this point is, it may be the high pressure oil pump for the injectors is not giving enough pressure ... sometimes! But as stated, if I wait for a few minutes and try again, it starts up. If you are bidding to buy you need to know this information as you are buying it as is and I want you to know all the facts.

The van has served our family well. The reason we are selling it is we are no longer in need of such a large vehicle. It carried our family of seven for many years, 3 of whom were in wheelchairs. It towed car trailers for me when I would go to car shows and swap meets. It is a powerhouse of a vehicle and with some additional regular care should have a lot of life left in it.

THE FINE PRINT and THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

I am sure I have left some details out, so check out the pictures, reread what I have written, e-mail me with your questions AND then bid.

The Club Wagon is being sold as is, where is. There is no warranty stated, written, or implied. This is a 19 year old vehicle, bought in October of 1995. As any vehicle of this vintage it may need a few things done. I would encourage you to inspect the vehicle first. I have given any info as to the needs of the van, as I know them, in the most honest manner. I like the van, having owned it since new, and may have inadvertently overlooked some of it’s clunks, rattles, and little quirks.

You will be satisfied with my honest description.

Yes, there is a reserve. No, I will not give that out. If you cannot live without the truck, make  me an offer I cannot refuse and I’ll set a Buy It Now price for you to purchase the truck.

e-mail me with questions. I will gladly call serious buyers if you send your phone and best time to call, but I am not available Sunday mornings.

A nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 must be made within 48 hours of the end of auction. It may be made either by PayPal or U.S.P.S. Postal Money Order (any other type of funds will be considered nonpayment). BALANCE must be by wire transfer, cash or other funds that are verifiable and guaranteed at the time of exchange. I will work the details out with the purchaser. NEITHER THE VEHICLE NOR THE TITLE WILL BE GIVEN OUT UNTIL THE FUNDS ARE FULLY EXCHANGED, VERIFIED, AND USABLE IN MY ACCOUNT.

The car is sold as is, where is, however, I will work with you and/or your shipper on being available. Buyer pays all shipping and insurance costs. The winning bidder is responsible for any and all title, plates, taxes, transfers, inspections, insurance, and any other charges related to the purchase of the car.

As always, I retain the right to end the auction for any reason, including if sold through another venue.

Thank you for looking and have a great day.
I forgot to mention it has never been in an accident nor has it been repainted. Yes there are a few parking lot dings from a people being careless. But never a highway or major accident. Thanks.

Weekly Recap: Volvo buys Polestar, makes performance a priority

Sat, Jul 18 2015

Volvo is taking its performance business in-house, and the Swedish carmaker announced Tuesday that it bought tuning company Polestar, which has long been known for producing sporty Volvos. The move allows Volvo to ramp up its performance business, and it plans to increase Polestar-branded vehicle sales to 1,000 to 1,500 annually, up from the 750 total projected for this year. The companies have been working together on motorsports projects since 1996. Financial terms of the sale were not released, and Polestar workers will move over to Volvo. Former Polestar owner Christian Dahl will keep control of the Polestar racing team and operate it under a new name. In addition to sales volume, Volvo has ambitious plans for other parts of Polestar, including its aftermarket business. Volvo also said it will use its twin-engine hybrid technology for Polestar models in the future, though specifics and timing were not revealed. Meanwhile, Volvo announced it will offer a run of 265 total Polestars in the United States for the 2016 model year, with S60 and V60s available. "Driving a Volvo Polestar is a special experience. We have decided to bring this experience to more Volvo drivers, placing the full resources of Volvo behind the development of Polestar as the model name for our high performance cars," Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, get nose jobs Automakers tend to refer to light updates as 'facelifts,' and that's exactly what Chevy gave the 2016 Silverado and GMC Sierra. Chevy slightly changed the front end of the truck. Using the one photo released of the new Z71 model as a guide, we can see that the headlights went from a stacked vertical design to single bulbs, and they are set on top of LED running lights. The grille has more body-colored elements instead of shiny metal, and the hood has a new line running down the middle (look really closely). The design theme will be similar across the portfolio, though materials and details will vary, a spokesman said. Some models, like the High Country and LTZ will have more chrome, and the LEDs are only for the upper trims. Chevy also said it will use the eight-speed automatic transmission on more versions of the Silverado, and it updated the MyLink feature to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Watch these Australian Ford and Holden muscle cars duke it out

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Australia's Motoring has put together a little video on two of the great performance vehicles available down under - the Holden VF Commodore HSV GTS and the Ford Falcon FPV GT R-Spec. And while both FPV and the Falcon might be on their way out, there's still plenty of time for a little head-to-head comparison between the two.
The cars aren't all that well evenly matched, though. The Ford boasts a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8, which the Aussies measure out at 449 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The HSV, though, with its Corvette-derived, 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 is just too powerful - 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque.
Predictably, it doesn't end too well for the Ford. As the guys from Motoring point out, the new VF Commodore is just too new and too good, with its extra power and its adaptive dampers (GM's excellent MagnaRide). Interestingly, Motoring did point out that the Holden's electric steering is better than the Ford's hydraulic steering, which is a lot like a Porsche purist saying they prefer water-cooled engines to air cooled.

Bill Ford wins National Pond Hockey Championship with employees

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

Who says executives aren't people? This past weekend, Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, and a group of employees trekked up to Eagle River, WI for a few games of pond hockey. Team Ford took part in the 2014 Labatt Blue/USA Pond Hockey Championship, capturing its fifth title in the 50+ Tier 1 Division.
"It feels great to win," Ford, who plays on the team alongside other Ford employees, told the USA Hockey website. "It was fun to play [River Valley Pioneers] because they're great guys and we play them every year. We finally beat them, which we were due. It was a very clean game, a tough game."
The FoMoCo team managed to score seven goals to River Valley's two, and went undefeated in all five of its games during the tourney. Take a look below for the official press release on Team Ford's win.
