Hello.  Up for consideration here today is my 1993 Ford E150 Coachmen edition conversion van.  I originally purchased this van almost two years ago to drive around after I had some back surgery done.  I am a tall person, and with the running boards and height of the doors it made getting into and out of this van very easy, I had some extensive surgery done.  We thought we would use the van more than we do (only put 6000 miles on it in two years) so we are ready to sell it and get a fun car.

I am a little obsessive about maintenance and I don't like my vehicles breaking down.  Over the time I have owned it, I have replaced: Fuel pressure regulator, coil, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, wires, pcv valve, map sensor, idle air control valve, coolant temperature sensor, O2 sensor, air charge sensor, Stant 160 degree thermostat and coolant change, air conditioner high pressure hose as well as the accumulator/drier and a R134a charge.  Most of those are normal wear items and I like to get the best possible fuel mileage.

The engine is a Windsor 351ci V8.  It runs fine with no smoke or any other unusual noises.  It has plenty of power even with a load and has no problem accelerating and keeping up with traffic.  It has an automatic transmission with overdrive, which shifts fine and feels smooth.

The paint looks ok, but could really use a good compounding and waxing.  I have a lot of trees on the property, I washed it the best I could.  There is I will leave the fine detailing up to the new owner if they so choose.  The interior has wear and some stains in spot as to be expected from a 20 year old vehicle.  It is a seven passenger, four captains chairs up front and a rear bench.  There is a piece of carpet missing from the dog house hump, it was missing when I bought the van.  The dashboard is not all cracked up.  Overall its pretty nice inside considering its age.  The front Air conditioner works as well as the heat.  I don't think the rear Air conditioner or heat works, we never have anybody sit back there so I never had it addressed.  There is also a Television and VCR in the back for passengers, I don't have a digital converter for the TV and I don't have any tapes to try the VCR, they do power on however.  In the dashboard there is an older Alpine MP3/CD head unit with motorized face.  Also has two 10" jl audio subwoofers under the rear seat just for some extra punch.  They cannot be seen as they are under the seat.  I can remove them if the buyer so chooses.

The few road trips we took in this van, last year we drove to New Hampshire and back, stopping in Massachusetts.  A total of about 1000 miles in four days with no issue.  Drove upstate Pennsylvania a few times about 300 miles a trip and Connecticut a few times 400 miles or so.  Never had an issue, and never had a break down.

The van also has a ford class three trailer hitch.  I towed my small landscape trailer and small boat with it, both about 600lbs.  I have the clean and clear pennsylvania title in my name ready to be transferred (and it must be transferred before it leaves my property).  The van is still Pennsylvania inspected until September.  Last inspection I was told I may need driver side ball joints by next inspection, but because we hardly drive it they still may be good for a little while, not sure.  Even though we don't drive it much I still go out there and start it and move it around.  We drove it over 50 miles today without issue and I put some fresh gas in it.

Please study the pictures as they might be able to tell more of the story than I can.  Local inspections are encouraged and I will work with potential bidders to show the van.  I try to describe things the best I can, and my feedback should show that.  In the off chance I miss something I will do everything in my power to make it right.  This van is being sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied.  Payment AND pickup is expected within 7 days of auctions end.  If other arrangements need to be made please contact me prior to bidding and auction end.  Bidders with little or no feedback please contact me first, it will make things go easier for both parties.  Please do not hesitate to ask questions, I will gladly help.

Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell revisit bitter F1 rivalry in... Ford Fusion campaign?

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Formula One World Champions Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell haven't been on good terms since the 1986 season, when Piquet joined Mansell at the Williams team and Piquet spent the year privately fuming about not being granted the status of number one driver. Things only got worse from there - even though Piquet won the title the following year with Williams, still partnered with Mansell, the fuming was a lot less private.
They're back together after a 25-year silence, in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil to drive the new Ford Fusion. Called "Fusion Grand Prix," both men get the new Ford sedan, prepped to their liking - but still street legal, we assume - for a race to decide... well, who is faster behind the wheel of a Fusion.
There will be four episodes, with the first two having already aired. The third episode comes on January 29 and the race happens February 5. You'll find two video episodes and a press release below, but note - because it's a campaign for Ford Brazil, Piquet's dialogue in the vids isn't translated, so hit the Closed Captioning button to hear his side of the smack talking.

Ford CEO Jim Hackett reviewing the future of technology, Lincoln, overseas markets

Mon, Jul 31 2017

By Paul Lienert and Joseph White Ford Chief Executive Jim Hackett is reviewing the automaker's operations in India and other markets, as well as Ford's future product programs including plans to build a self-driving commercial vehicle in 2021. Hackett, who took over as CEO in May, has told investors he is working on a 100-day review of Ford's operations but has so far provided few details of the process, except to indicate that it is looking at the automakers' luxury vehicle strategy, the future of its small vehicles and investments in emerging markets. Ford Chief Financial Officer Bob Shanks told Reuters in an interview that the review covers a range of issues, including Ford's strategy for India. "We have a lot of work to do (as) we address issues of how to fix India," Shanks said. "Everything is on the table." General Motors in May said it would stop selling cars in India but continue to produce vehicles there for export. Shanks said no decisions have been made and noted that Ford has a larger business in India than GM did. "We are very cognizant that will be the third-largest market in the world," he said. "Some big decisions will be made," Shanks said, but he cautioned Ford may not disclose all those decisions at the end of the 100-day review. Hackett is addressing challenges that have contributed to a nearly 8 percent decline in Ford's share price this year. The review of the Lincoln luxury brand includes whether current plans will meet former CEO Mark Fields' ambitious targets for growth and revenue, people familiar with the process said. Ford has set a target of putting a self-driving shuttle into commercial ride-sharing fleets by 2021. Hackett is reviewing the investment and timing for that project, the sources said. Hackett also assessing whether to reduce and consolidate production of models such as the Fiesta subcompact and two midsized sedans that are built in multiple locations around the world, but are experiencing slowing demand. One proposal would shift production of the next-generation Mondeo midsized sedan from Europe to Mexico, where it would share an assembly line with its sibling, the Ford Fusion, avoiding the cost of retooling two plants. Shortly after he took charge, Hackett approved a proposal to shift production of the next-generation Focus for North America from Mexico to China, saving the company an estimated $500 million by consolidating two factories into one.

Ford demonstrates Mustang's new Line Lock burnout feature

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

Been saving your pennies for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Put in a few extra shifts or some overtime? Got a great down payment ready? Well, however much you saved for your new pony car, start saving more - you'll need the extra money to spend on tires.
That's because the Mustang will come with a system called Line Lock, which can lock the front brakes electronically, allowing drivers to perform big, dumb, smoky burnouts without moving so much as an inch. It's sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.
Now, line locks aren't uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.
