1969 Ford Econoline 200 Supervan - Coachman Conversion on 2040-cars
Needles, California, United States
You're looking at an original 1969 Ford Econoline 200 Supervan Coachman Conversion type-B camper. This is a beautiful machine that wears authentic California coast patina of its original blue paint. You can't fake this look! The old girl has aged gracefully, maintaining the integrity of the metal with only surface rusting in areas of the body as shown in the pictures. The body panels are straight and show no sign of any past body work. You will notice the only two significant dents in the pictures: one on the hood, and one near the rear passenger-side taillight. I wouldn't touch the look of this Supervan in the slightest bit, but of course- that is up to you:)
The van is solid with no structural rusting or holes anywhere. It has the original low-mileage 302 V8 with the "three on the tree" manual transmission. The van starts right up and drives down the road well. The brakes, suspension, transmission, and clutch were all recently inspected and operate as intended. I wouldn't hesitate to drive the old girl across the country! In fact, I'll drive it to the new owner for a small fee (please contact me BEFORE you bid if you'd like me to do this).
The interior is in decent original shape. The seats show the wear and tear of 45 years of age with rips and such, but are just fine for sitting on for road tripping. The driver's side is covered with a fur cover that does its job. The carpet in the rear area is in very clean condition (see pictures). I have never used the coach features (sink, stove, oven, etc) and so cannot speak to their condition. It all looks good and functional, but I would have the propane lines and tank pressure tested and the water tank inspected before attempting to use them.
The glass is all intact with only minor chipping in a couple spots on the windshield. The tires are decent, but show some weather checking from age. The exhaust is a bit loud and may have a leak somewhere or may simply need a new muffler. It isn't obnoxious or anything, just a bit louder than it should be. The steering is manual and therefore stiff, but the van is easy to handle on the road.
I have an application for California title signed and ready to transfer to the new owner. This is an easy process in California, but may be more difficult in other states (please do your own research). Unfortunately, the registered owner of this fine vehicle has past away, so no other documentation can be filled out by him. Before his death he filled out and signed an application for California title (lost title) form. This is what the new owner will receive. If you are an out of state buyer and would like a clear California title I can accommodate, but at the expense of some time and money. If you would require this service, please contact me BEFORE you bid.

Michigan museum offers Model T driving classes
Sun, 29 Dec 2013Halfway between Detroit and Chicago, there is a car museum that gives visitors a unique level of interaction with antique cars. The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI has a driver's training class to teach people of any age to learn how to drive a Ford Model T.
From the crank starter to the column-mounted throttle control, this driving school teaches people all there is to know about driving and operating a Model T. Each class lasts about two and a half hours and is only open to 18 students. There are ten sessions planned for 2014 - twice a day on May 3, June 22, July 22, August 23 and September 14. The class costs $95 (or $85 for members), and it also includes a tour of the museum's automobile collection.
In addition to this driving school, the museum has plenty of exhibits on the property, and it's open all but three days per year (Easter, Christmas and New Year's Day) with free admission for school field trips and active military. Be sure to check out the Gilmore Car Museum's website or visit them on Facebook for more info.
2015 Ford Expedition stays the course, adds EcoBoost power
Tue, 18 Feb 2014The era of the body-on-frame, fullsize SUV is rapidly vanishing in favor of smaller, unibody crossovers. However, Ford still sees life in the segment with the reveal of the updated 2015 Expedition, now available (solely) with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. The new truck will make its public debut at the 2014 DFW Auto Show in Dallas on February 19.
The loss of the previous 5.4-liter V8 in favor of Ford's 3.5-liter, direct-injected, twin-turbocharged V6 engine might rankle some of the Expedition's fans, but Ford claims that the change gives the SUV better fuel economy, more power and increased low-end torque than before. Unfortunately, official engine specifications won't be released until later this year, but Ford says engine output will be similar to the 365 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque that this powerplant produces in other applications. The EcoBoost is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and the SUV now uses electrically assisted power steering, for an even greater fuel economy advantage. Ford claims this also allows for better maneuverability at low speeds and better feel at high speeds.
Exterior styling is basically unchanged for 2015. The front end has the same three-bar chrome grille and headlight design, but the lower air dam gets added chrome and LED lamps. The rear gets more brightwork on the hatch, and there's a chrome-tipped exhaust pipe. As before, Ford is offering the Expedition in two wheelbase lengths - 119 inches and 131 inches. A new, optional, continuously controlled damping system alters suspension settings constantly based on 46 parameters and offers comfort, normal and sport modes (just like the Expedition's sister, the recently refreshed and decidedly less-attractive Lincoln Navigator).
2015 Ford Edge debuts with fresh tech inside and out

Edge will be the first Ford-badged product to come standard with EcoBoost power.
Ford officially unveiled the all-new, third-generation Edge today at its Dearborn home, announcing that the latest version of the popular crossover will ride on the same CD4 architecture that underpins the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ. The Edge will also be the first Ford-badged product to come standard with EcoBoost power.
