1963 Ford Econoline Unibody Pickup. This is a sunny California vehicle and is structurally rust free. There is some minimal bed rust at the bed/cab bulkhead where some leaves accumulated but this is an easy fix (see pics). There is no rust-through in the critical areas: zero rust in the frame rails; wheel wells; floorboards; foot wells; doors; etc. Also this has never been wrecked and the body shows minimal dings and dents. The bed deck has some surface rust and dings. The bed sides are straight and have never seen body puddy. Rear corners and quarters are straight and rust and repair free. All in all this is a great place to start a hot rat street rod build or even a restoration as all the major structure on this unibody is sound. Again, the only rust is at the bulkhead which is very common and easy to fix: it is so minimal that I feel I can say this is a rust free vehicle. All the glass is good and not cracked or damaged. There is no interior other than what you see. I do have the engine doghouse but not the top part, just the sides. Look closely at the pics and you will see that the engine mount crossmember has been modified for a 302 SBF V8. When I got the rig it had a 302 and a C4 in it but I removed it to put in my 63 Fairlane. NO ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION. (The pic is for reference only.) The exhaust stack was functional and therefor the 4" dia. hole will need to be repaired if you remove it. I have all four Bronco ii aluminum wheels, I only put them on the one side to show the stance with truck wheels -- the other side is stock and has more of a rod stance. Grant after-market wood steering wheel. Buyer is to assume that the brakes and wiring will need to be gone through as well as a drive train installed. This is a project. I have a clear California title. Truck is not for sale in California! Call first if you are a Cal buyer! Buyer will need to arrange shipping at buyer's expense. I will do my best to assist on my end. Ford reveals all-new Everest SUV at Asia-Pacific forum [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

While the Explorer may have shifted from a truck-based sport-ute to a car-based crossover, Ford still offers buyers on the other side of the Pacific a Ranger-based SUV in the form of the Everest. And at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Beijing today, the Blue Oval revealed the all-new version you see here.
Previewed in concept form over a year ago and made specifically for the Asia-Pacific market, the new Ford Everest is designed to be more refined on the road and more capable off of it. Like the Explorer once was, the new Everest is based on a stretched version of the overseas Ford Ranger pickup. Depending on the specific market, Ford will offer the new Everest with a range of engines including a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo four and two Duratorq turbodiesels - a 2.2-liter four and a 3.2-liter inline-five - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Earmarked to take on the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (known in these parts as the Lexus GX) and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the new Everest promises rock-crawlers even better off-road capabilities. It's got nearly nine inches of ground clearance, over 30 inches of wading depth, a 29-degree approach and 25-degree departure angles and a set of features including on-the-fly adjustable four-wheel drive.

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.

Watch this Ford F-150 SVT Raptor fly like an eagle [UPDATE]

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is a very capable truck right out of the box, but "capable" has never translated into "invincible." Just ask the owner of the machine in this video. In it, the driver gets frisky with an aggressive jump with plenty of speed on his hands. The result is enough air to make Vaughn Gittin Jr. blush. As always, it's not the launch that's painful, but the re-entry. Gravity eventually asserts its dominance over the $43,630 pickup in a big way, and when it comes crashing down, it does so with a vengeance.
The impact was hard enough to set off both the alarm and multiple airbags inside the cabin. It's unclear if anyone was injured in the stunt, but we certainly wouldn't be surprised to hear that was the case. You can check out the stunt in the video below, and remember, when in doubt, back out of the throttle. Be warned, there may be some explicit/NSFW language in the clip.
UPDATE: Second video added with an even better look at the jump added below.
