You are bidding on a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with 67,300 miles. The car utilized by a Municipal Police Department in the Chicago Metropolitan Suburbs. The vehicle was maintained by public works mechanics on a regular basis. The car is in excellent condition. It rides extremely comfortably; the steering is tight and doesn't pull to the side on the highway; acceleration is strong and powerful, and the transmission shifts smoothly. All the options work. The car rides like new. Overall, it is a solid car with a lot of power.

The paint is in very good condition. There are several antenna holes (one on the trunk and one on the roof), both of which have been plugged.  There was no light bar on this car.  There is a small dent on the lower portion of the driver’s side rear door.  Otherwise, the exterior is in great condition.  Tires are in good condition with a lot of tread life.

The interior is also in very good condition. The interior is dark gray in color. The front bucket seats are cloth and very firm with lumbar support and driver’s side power seat. The steering wheel is in excellent condition without any tears.

The vehicle is equipped with a Secure Idle/ Ignition Override. This is a feature of the police package which allows the vehicle to idle without the key in the ignition. The car cannot be put into drive without the key in the ignition. This feature allows police equipment to stay powered on as well as keep the heater or air conditioning running when the officer is away from the car.

We realize there are a fair amount of 2009's to choose from. This is not a poor condition car and we are starting at a fair price for a car that is ready to go. We encourage you to inspect the vehicle located in northeast Illinois, 30 miles north of Chicago. If you are serious about this car, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. We've done our homework when researching department squad cars and have sold quality used police interceptors at fair prices; so please compare.

Defying Trump, major automakers finalize California emissions deal

Tue, Aug 18 2020

WASHINGTON — The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and major automakers on Monday confirmed they had finalized binding agreements to cut vehicle emissions in the state, defying the Trump administration's push for weaker curbs on tailpipe pollution. The agreements with carmakers Ford Motor Co, Volkswagen AG, Honda Motor Co and BMW AG were first announced in July 2019 as voluntary measures prompting anger from U.S. President Donald Trump. A month later, the Justice Department opened an antitrust probe into the agreements. The government ended the investigation without action. The Trump administration in March finalized a rollback of U.S. vehicle emissions standards to require 1.5% annual increases in efficiency through 2026. That is far weaker than the 5% annual increases in the discarded rules adopted under President Barack Obama. The 50-page California agreements, which extend through 2026, are less onerous than the standards finalized by the Obama administration but tougher than the Trump administration standards. The automakers have also agreed to electric vehicle commitments. Volvo Cars, owned by China's Geely Holdings, said in March it planned to join the automakers agreeing to the California requirements. It has also finalized its agreement. The settlement agreements say California and automakers agreed to resolve "potential legal disputes concerning the authority of CARB" and other states that have adopted California's standards. In May, a group of 23 U.S. states led by California and some major cities, challenged the Trump vehicle emissions rule. Other major automakers like General Motors Co, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Toyota Motor Corp did not join the California agreement. Those companies also sided with the Trump administration in a separate lawsuit over whether the federal government can strip California of the right to set zero emission vehicle requirements. Ford said the "final agreement will reduce emissions in our vehicles at a more stringent rate, support and incentivize the production of electrified products, and create regulatory certainty." BMW said "by setting these long-term, predictable, and achievable standards, we have the regulatory certainty that is necessary for long-term planning that will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but ultimately benefit consumers as well."

2015 Ford Mustang GT road test ride-along

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

You've no doubt already pored over our first drive of the 2015 Ford Mustang, where author Jonathon Ramsey proclaimed that "this new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment." And following Ramsey's first stint behind the wheel of Ford's new coupe, we sent him back out with another 'Stang to capture some of these same impressions over a backdrop of the car moving quickly along gorgeous California canyon roads.
But this also gave our author and editors time to read through the hundreds of comments left on that original Mustang review. You readers are indeed a vocal bunch, and one particular comment about how the automotive media is so willing to bash an outgoing car as soon as the new one arrives really caught our attention. In this video, Ramsey stands by his written text, saying the new Mustang is "massively better than the one it replaces," and in doing so, addresses your comments while providing more insight into just how good the Ford truly is.
We won't spoil the rest for you. Check out the feature video above, and as always, leave us your thoughts in the Comments section below.
