Cvpi Police Interceptor Havis K-9 Cage And Factory Rear Seat on 2040-cars
Up for sale is my 2003 CVPI Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Prior Wisconsin State Police Highway Patrol Unit I purchased it 4 years ago and replaced many significant parts and used it as a daily driver until this Winter. The rear differential will need to be rebuilt or replaced. The vehicle does currently drive and it is the only known issue from being a reliable daily driver again, however the repair is mandatory. I've had the car parked since the middle of Winter with the intention of repairing the rear differential but I haven't had the time. Now I have 4 vehicles and only a 2 bay garage, so the wife says one of them has to go. I will miss it very much, as it has been very reliable, inexpensive and comfortable and fun to drive. The car demands respect on the road. Other drivers are always very courteous, nobody tailgates or cuts you off, it really makes for a stress-free driving experience whether it be a long trip on the highway or just to the grocery store. These are some of the repairs made, the majority of the repairs were within the last few years and only with factory Motorcraft or quality aftermarket parts like Moog
Currently installed in the back seat is a Havis K-9 cage (MSRP $1500 new) The car also comes with the factory seat and door panels. My dog loves his area in the back of the car, and it proved to be very convenient. The cage also provides a flat floor making it very roomy for transporting larger objects. The factory back seat, door panels and everything needed to go back to a factory is included. Currently mounted on the rims are General Altimax Arctic winter tires, they have been used for 2.5 winters and a phenomenal to say the least. With the factory limited slip rear end the car was unstoppable in any snow we see in CT. Summer tires also go with the car. I have a set of OEM police interceptor Eagle RSA's. 2 of them are brand new with less than 1000 miles, 1 is only about a year old and 1 is older and needs to be replaced soon. The rear differential gears are 3.27:1, giving you excellent gas mileage for a V8 especially on the highway. On road trips I usually get 23mpg at 75mph, and around town about 18mpg. The car is also equipped with a remote starter and alarm system. VERY convenient on really cold or really hot days. The only issues other than the rear end are minor and don't affect driveability:
Exterior blemishes are noticeable up close only and there are dings, scratches and dents. However when the car was driven daily I kept the exterior looking as best it could with polishing, buffing and waxing multiple times a year (as you can see from the pictures taken last summer it was very well taken care of). Currently the car hasn't been washed since the Winter and hasn't been polished up since before Winter. The first 15 pictures were taken last summer when it was still a daily driver, the remaining pictures of the car in the asphalt driveway are current pictures of the car and where it's been for the last few months. The car has a clear title in hand. * The center console in the pictures and the aftermarket radio are not installed in the car nor included in the sale, the factory AM/FM head unit has been re-installed. Also the items in the trunk are not included.....neither is my dog!* |

Ford confirms 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine for 2014 Fusion
Thu, 11 Apr 2013Earlier this week, reports were swirling 'round the internet about the 2014 Ford Fusion getting a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. That was... half correct. Ford today confirmed that the 2014 Fusion is, in fact, getting a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost mill, but it has four cylinders, not three.
The new 1.5-liter engine will be the fifth EcoBoost powerplant from Ford Motor Company. Initially to be built at the automaker's Craiova, Romania plant, it will also be offered in the Fusion's twin, the Mondeo, in other markets. This engine will debut at the Shanghai Motor Show next month, and the 1.5-liter is of particular importance in the Chinese market - there is significant tax relief in the People's Republic for vehicles powered by engines with a capacity of 1.5 liters or less.
At a media briefing Thursday, Ford declined to divulge exact power or fuel economy numbers, though Joe Bakaj, vice president of powertrain engineering, told Autoblog that power output should be similar to that of the current 1.6-liter inline-four, and that overall efficiency will be "better than the 1.6." Our earlier report stated that the 1.5-liter four will produce 177 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque - losses of 1 hp and 7 lb-ft versus the 1.6-liter engine. Ford states that the 1.5-liter four will feature many of the same technologies used on the company's 1.0-liter EcoBoost inline-three, including an integrated exhaust manifold that recaptures much of the engine's heat.
Justin Bell makes a horrible policeman
Mon, 11 Nov 2013If you're wondering what type of person makes a good police officer, it seems a racecar driver doesn't. Let us rephrase that: Justin Bell, a racecar driver and the host of Motor Trend's World's Fastest Car Show, recently got behind the wheel of a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang police car with Sergeant Daniel Shrubb, co-founder of DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti), and proved that his high-performance-driving skillset is a bit too aggressive for police duty.
While it's easy to get carried away in a Mustang GT, a patrol car driver must maintain some sort of restraint while pursuing a criminal, so as not to come off as a reckless driver to the public. We'll admit, some pursuit techniques are counter-intuitive to performance driving (stay off the gas in a lane-change exercise?), but Bell's judicious use of the handbrake can't be normal procedure.

Weekly Recap: Volvo buys Polestar, makes performance a priority
Sat, Jul 18 2015Volvo is taking its performance business in-house, and the Swedish carmaker announced Tuesday that it bought tuning company Polestar, which has long been known for producing sporty Volvos. The move allows Volvo to ramp up its performance business, and it plans to increase Polestar-branded vehicle sales to 1,000 to 1,500 annually, up from the 750 total projected for this year. The companies have been working together on motorsports projects since 1996. Financial terms of the sale were not released, and Polestar workers will move over to Volvo. Former Polestar owner Christian Dahl will keep control of the Polestar racing team and operate it under a new name. In addition to sales volume, Volvo has ambitious plans for other parts of Polestar, including its aftermarket business. Volvo also said it will use its twin-engine hybrid technology for Polestar models in the future, though specifics and timing were not revealed. Meanwhile, Volvo announced it will offer a run of 265 total Polestars in the United States for the 2016 model year, with S60 and V60s available. "Driving a Volvo Polestar is a special experience. We have decided to bring this experience to more Volvo drivers, placing the full resources of Volvo behind the development of Polestar as the model name for our high performance cars," Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, get nose jobs Automakers tend to refer to light updates as 'facelifts,' and that's exactly what Chevy gave the 2016 Silverado and GMC Sierra. Chevy slightly changed the front end of the truck. Using the one photo released of the new Z71 model as a guide, we can see that the headlights went from a stacked vertical design to single bulbs, and they are set on top of LED running lights. The grille has more body-colored elements instead of shiny metal, and the hood has a new line running down the middle (look really closely). The design theme will be similar across the portfolio, though materials and details will vary, a spokesman said. Some models, like the High Country and LTZ will have more chrome, and the LEDs are only for the upper trims. Chevy also said it will use the eight-speed automatic transmission on more versions of the Silverado, and it updated the MyLink feature to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
