1955 Ford Crown Victoria

This beautiful 1955 Crown Vic was purchased with the intention of showing it this up-coming car show season, but it doesn't appear myself or my family will be showing this one as much as we would like. Therefore, I would like to give someone else an opportunity to own this car great car.

Beautiful colors and a car that is getting harder to find.  One great looking Ford!  This will be a great investment and a fun car for the next owner. Car looks great and drives excellent. Should win a trophy at some of your local shows ; )

Details/Features:

  • 292ci "Y-Block" V8 Engine (4 BBL)
  • Ford-O-Matic Transmission (Automatic)
  • Deluxe Original Radio
  • Bumper Guards
  • 12 Volt Electrical System
  • Dual Exhaust
  • New WWW tires
  • Fender Skirts
  • Under-dash swing out tray with cup holder (ever seen one?)
  • Recent brakes, tune-up, and heads done for regular unleaded gas

The engine idles very well, makes good power, and starts everytime.  The transmission also shifts well.  The car gets down the road and will flow with modern traffic effortlessly.  The 12 volt system is a big plus and works well.  Car sounds fantastic!

This Ford is a combination of some restoration and nice unrestored original features.  Lots of good looking original chrome, great body, etc.  The paint job looks very good from any distance and the underside of the car is neat and painted black (no rust issues at all).  The interior is very nice and has some evidence of age/wear in places, but still looks great.  Overall, it's a sharp looking and driving Ford and you'd be hard pressed to find another one like it!

I welcome inspections and appraisers. Shown by appointment.

China takes lead as GM's No. 1 market

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

It's happened. General Motors' biggest vehicle market - at least in terms of new model sales - is China. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, GM and its various Chinese joint venture operations enjoyed a 10.6-percent sales increase in the first half of 2013, selling almost 1.6 million units in the market. That puts GM China about 200,000 units ahead of its US sales totals over the same period - this, despite indicators that the communist nation's economy is losing momentum.
TDB notes that like GM, rival Ford has also enjoyed a robust 2013 in China thus far, with its sales up a whopping 47 percent to 407,721 units sold - 75,254 of them in June alone. Between the two US automakers, passenger car sales for the first half of 2013 are up around 14 percent, well ahead of the rest of the industry's 10-percent growth estimates for the market. Some of the sales growth may come as a result of an overall anti-Japan sentiment in China, though the American brands have long outsold their Japanese counterparts in the country.
By The General's own predictions, China will only continue to grow in sales importance. The company has designs on selling over five million cars a year in the market before the end of the decade, a total that figures to dramatically widen the gap versus its US totals - even if America's auto market makes a full recovery to the the salad days of over 17-million units a year.

Ford to pay $17.35 million over Escape recall

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

Ford had a bit of a recall spree around this time last year, with a pair of issues on the then-new 2013 Escape, followed by a recall of 423,000 2001 to 2004 Escapes because they might accelerate of their own accord. Accordingly, Uncle Sam pasted Ford with a $17.35 million fine because it took too long to inform customers, according to a report from Automotive News.
Ford agreed to settle with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, accepting the fine but not admitting fault. The recall, which afflicted Escapes with the 3.0-liter V-6 along with 217,000 Mazda Tributes from 2001 to 2006 and 2008, was due to faulty gas pedals that could stay down after a driver removed their foot.
Ford issued a statement regarding the fine, saying, "We take the safety of our customers seriously and continuously evaluate our processes for improvements. While we are confident in our current processes for quickly identifying and addressing potential vehicle issues, Ford agreed to this settlement to avoid a lengthy dispute with the government."

Former Ford CEO Mulally won't run for president

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Alan Mulally will not be following his successful term as president and CEO of Ford Motor Company with a run at an even bigger presidency. Rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would make a run at the White House sprouted after his apparent dodging of a reporter's questions about a potential candidacy during a forum in Indianapolis.
"I really think it's important that we all pull together. We really need to pull together around a compelling vision for our country and a comprehensive strategy to do it and work together. We really need to do it," Mulally said at the conference, according to The Detroit News.
He's since clarified by saying, "[I'm] honored at the suggestion, but that is not a role I am considering."
