2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor P71 Street on 2040-cars
Cortland, Ohio, United States
Up for sale is my personal 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with the desirable Street Appearance Package. This P71 was never used by any law enforcement agency. In fact it was purchased new by the Department of Education and assigned to the head of DoE in KY as his personal take home unit. This car was never abused and the mileage is all highway mileage. This P71 still has the factory high speed Good Year tires and they are in great shape and a brand new factory full size spare in the trunk. This car has absolutely no rust and is very clean inside out and underneath. It also has no scratches or any type of damage that most Crown Vics have from removing police related equipments and decals. This P71 comes with the desirable C6 full posi rear axle. It runs very strong and super fast. The engine and tranny are very responsive and absolutely have no issues. In fact this P71 could be easily be put back to service. It will serve its new owner for many years to come. What makes this P71 unique and special is that it ONLY has 186 idling hours where average P71s have 4000 hours, it also comes with factory coach interior, absolutely no rust, and the fact that the factory paint is almost as new where your average P71s come with all sorts of damage from removing police equipment and decals. I have been driving this P71 for some time now and used it for my family related trips. I cant stress how clean and sharp this P71 and my words and pictures will not do it justice. You have to stop by to see it in person and take it for a test drive to understand how sharp it really is. If you are in the market to purchase your next P71 look no further because this is the one for you. The new owner will be absolutely proud and pleased for owning this P71. I have been buying and selling government owned vehicles for some time now and rarely I come across a P71 that absolutely has no defects, or any issues. This unit runs and handles as it was new from the factory. As I have stated, there are absolutely nothing that needs fixed. Every option works as it should. This P71 is so unique that it come with FACTORY ALARM REMOTE CONTROL. It is almost impossible to find a P71 this clean with factory anti theft alarm system. Paint shines like new with no scratches or any rust, or any damage. It has a clear history. The interior is very clean and almost in as new. No rips, no stains, nor any damage at all. Tires are almost as new and comes with a full size brand new full size matching spare. Like I said stop by for a test drive. If you have questions please email me or call me direct at 773-255-9856. I really wish you all the best of luck bidding. This vehicle is listed locally and I may end this auction at any time. Thank you all for your time and interest. |

2015 Ford F-150 shaves 700 pounds, adds 2.7-liter EcoBoost [w/video]
Mon, 13 Jan 2014The Ford F-150 is one of the best selling vehicles on the planet. Considering that, one can imagine that when it comes time for a redesign, there are hardly any half measures. For its lucky thirteenth generation, Ford has gone all-in on the single most important vehicle in its portfolio, redesigning it from the ground up.
The big news is the F-150's new, lightweight, Atlas-inspired body. Ninety-three percent of that new body is made from a sort of aluminum alloy not unlike what the US military uses in its M2 Bradley fighting vehicles and Humvees, and it accounts for up to 70 percent of the F-150's 700-pound weight reduction. As a side benefit, the aluminum body should prove more resistant to dents and dings. Built Ford tough, indeed.
If you're wondering where the other 30 percent of that 700-pound weight loss went, 8.5 percent (60 pounds) came from the increased use of high-strength steel (up from 23 percent to 77 percent) in its ladder-box frame. Ford claims this steel is comparable to some of the heavy duty pickups used by its competitors, with a PSI rating of 70,000.
Bosch fined $57.8 million by DOJ for price fixing and bid rigging
Tue, Mar 31 2015The US Department of Justice has been investigating bid rigging and price fixing among automotive parts suppliers for years, and so far the agency has leveled nearly $2.5 billion in fines against 34 companies. The latest business to be caught in this ongoing crackdown is Germany's Robert Bosch GmbH (Bosch), the world's largest independent auto component maker, and it agrees to pay a $57.8 million criminal fine to the Feds. According to the DOJ, Bosch has agreed to plead guilty to pricing fixing and bid rigging for spark plugs and oxygen sensors supplied to the former DaimlerChrysler, Ford and General Motors. The rigging is said to have occurred between January 2000 and July 2011. Bosch also allegedly played foul with starter motors sold to Volkswagen from January 2009 until at least June 2010. Bosch and other companies allegedly conspired on the pricing for bids to submit to automakers, and sold the parts at noncompetitive prices. The DOJ filed a one-count felony charge in US District Court for these actions. The company's plea is still subject to court approval, though. Bosch is only the third European company to be charged in this investigation, according to the DOJ. So far, many of the fined businesses have been from Japan, including Takata, NGK and others. Some execs have claimed price-fixing has been the standard operating procedure in the auto parts industry for a long time. Robert Bosch GmbH Agrees to Plead Guilty to Price Fixing and Bid Rigging on Automobile Parts Installed in U.S. Cars Robert Bosch GmbH, the world's largest independent parts supplier to the automotive industry, based in Gerlingen, Germany, has agreed to plead guilty and to pay a $57.8 million criminal fine for its role in a conspiracy to fix prices and rig bids for spark plugs, oxygen sensors and starter motors sold to automobile and internal combustion engine manufacturers in the United States and elsewhere, the Department of Justice announced today. According to the one-count felony charge filed today in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan, Bosch conspired to allocate the supply of, rig bids for, and to fix, stabilize and maintain the prices of, spark plugs and oxygen sensors sold to automobile and internal combustion engine manufacturers such as DaimlerChrysler AG, Ford Motor Company, General Motors Company and Andreas Stihl AG & Co., among others, in the United States and elsewhere.
Ford to announce Mulally retirement, Fields CEO as early as May 1
Mon, 21 Apr 2014Ford CEO Alan Mulally may be about to announce his long-rumored retirement from the Blue Oval, according to a pair of insiders who spoke to Bloomberg. An official statement on the succession could arrive as soon as May 1. Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields is rumored to step up as the new CEO. The company is said to be readying the announcement soon to ensure an orderly transition of power, according to the insiders.
Mulally's retirement from Ford has been a hot topic for a while. He was seriously rumored last year to be leaving the automaker to take over as the CEO of Microsoft. The board even said at one point that it was okay with them if he stepped down early. However, the CEO maintained he would stay with the business through at least the end of 2014. Fields has been rumored as a frontrunner to take over the top spot at the company since he was promoted to COO.
For the moment, Ford isn't officially confirming any of these plans. "We don't comment on speculation. We do have succession plans in place for our key leadership. We take succession planning very seriously," said Susan Krusel, Ford Global News Manager, to Autoblog.
