2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Manlius, New York, United States
Up for you’re consideration is a dark gray 2008 Ford Police Interceptor. This is not your typical high mileage / high idle hour beat up ex-police cruiser so please read the description in its entirety. This vehicle was purchased NEW by me in early 2008 from a Sheriff’s Deputy in MA and is highly optioned. He had ordered the vehicle along with several others for a private security firm that he runs on the side. After purchasing the vehicle, his firm decided to go with SUV’s. Subsequently, this Crown Vic and several others like it were released for sale to the public. That is how I came about purchasing this vehicle which at the time only had 1,100 miles and fewer than 5 idle hours (ONLY HAS 300 idle hours NOW - THREE HUNDRED). I still have the original eBay listing for this vehicle, bill of sale, copy of the MA title, and original window sticker with a breakdown of all the extra options (cruise, carpet, CD player, etc). I also have a list of service records dating back to when the car had its first transmission service done at 20K miles. This vehicle is ALL ORIGINAL. I stacked the mileage on pretty quickly because I commute a long distance to three different jobs utilizing the NYS thruway (40+ miles one way to each job). Most all of the mileage on this car was done on the highway; very little stop and go driving and very little idle time. I have maintained a very strict service schedule with this vehicle since I have owned it using only AMSOIL full synthetic fluids in the engine, transmission, power steering, and rear differential. The engine oil is changed every 5K-10K and the transmission receives a full service every 20K (flush w/ AMSOIL ATF and WIX filter).
Now for the good stuff - Not only is this car in mint condition for a 6 year old vehicle, but it is also moded with the following: Stainless Works long tube headers w/ catted lead pipes hooked up to the factory exhaust system, new OEM ported upper intake plenum, MSD ignition coils, new NKG iridium spark plugs, steeda under drive pulleys, EMP performance water pump, Ford 180* thermostat, B&M deep ATF pan with drain plug (holds 3 extra quarts of ATF) new Goodyear gatorback serpentine belt, and DiabloSport tuner ($2,700 in mods). The tuner is included with the sale along with all of the factory items that were replaced with the above performance items (factory catalytic converters not included, only the factory headers). This car has NEVER been abused or beaten on. I was not planning on selling this car which is why I sank so much money into it. My end goal was to make it similar in performance to a Mercury Marauder. The mods have only been in the car for about a thousand miles and let me tell yah, she hauls arse and gets 20+ MPG doing it! Also included in this sale are 3 additional sets of rims, 1 set are re-conditioned factory LX sport rims with Goodyear Assurance touring tires (60% tread), the other set are the original steel police rims that came with the car (I also have the OEM wheel covers). I replaced the original steel rims with after market steel rims because they got rusty from having the wheel covers on them. I now have the new rims on the car with General Arctic winter tires (60-70% tread). The wheel sensors are attached to the LX sport rims so the tire pressure light is currently on. The brake pads and rotors are NEW. The rotors are from Brake Performance and are slotted (lifetime warranty against warping & defects). The fuel filter is new. I just performed the following maintenance: Fresh Amsoil synthetic fluid in the engine with Amsoil filter, fresh Amsoil ATF fluid, coolant system flush at the Ford dealer, new Odyssey Extreme battery ($300.00 battery). THIS CAR NEEDS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The interior is absolutely mint with no stains, odors, tears / rips, or holes from removal of police equipment. The back seats were sat in less than a dozen times. The carpet is like new as are the factory floor mats. The exterior is in immaculate condition and was just recently “touched up” by a professional (Brush guard along bottom of doors and around wheel wells, new front and rear bumper, new front windshield). The undercarriage is very clean with minimal surface rust and no damage of any kind. I always make a point in the winter to have the undercarriage washed at least once a week.
NADA private party retail price for a base model Police Interceptor of exact mileage and model year is $7,100. Being as this is NOT a base model interceptor and comes with 2 sets of tires, 3 sets of rims, and more, I have set the opening bid at 7K. The price is not negotiable! I am selling this vehicle because I have just purchased a 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility as it better suites my needs. If you want a like new police package Crown Vic that is in mint condition, highly optioned, and never in police service, this may be one of you’re last opportunities as Ford is no longer producing these vehicles. Don’t let the mileage scare you, this vehicle is not even half way through its life span yet. I have seen and driven abused patrol cars and former taxis with over 200K miles on them; original engines and transmissions, with thousands of idle hours that are still going strong. This car is LIKE NEW. Fly in and drive across country.
If you have a question regarding something that has NOT been mentioned above, please don’t hesitate to ask. Buyer is responsible for shipping of vehicle if unable to drive home. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment is due within 7 days of auction close. If you are fairly close and would like to set up a time to inspect the vehicle or take it for a test drive, let me know and arrangements will be made. Mileage will be slightly higher at time of sale as I drive this car from time to time so it’s not sitting. Vehicle is also for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If you have negative feedback or no feedback you must contact me before placing a bid. Remember, you’re bid is a contract and this is a bid-to-own auction. Non-paying bidders will be dealt with accordingly. I have 100% feedback for a reason. This car was described accurately! Bid with confidence! |

Ford vandalizes the SEMA Show floor with 2014 Transit Connect
Tue, 05 Nov 2013The Ford booth here at SEMA is practically a 1970s throwback with all these customized vans sitting front and center. And we're completely fine with that. Take the black and yellow (black and yellow, black and yellow) 2014 Transit Connect from Mobsteel above. It's got a great stance, sits on steel wheels and has a pretty cool paint job and graphics package to boot.
Of course, that's not the only van you can see at the Ford booth. In fact, there are 10 Transit Connect vans on display from Ford here at SEMA, and you can see them all in our live gallery of high-res images above. Then, if you want to know more about each specific model, feel free to scroll down to read all about these vans in the official press release from Ford.
Ford C-Max sales hold steady despite fuel economy fracas
Mon, 09 Sep 2013Despite the ballyhoo that accompanied Ford's lowering of the C-Max fuel economy figures, the Blue Oval is still seeing strong demand for the five-seat MPV, as Automotive News reports. Speaking to marketing boss Jim Farley, AN says that the controversy surrounding the C-Max's fuel economy figures won't force Ford to change its marketing strategy.
Ford lowered the fuel economy rating of the C-Max after public outcry and legal action by customers that were unable to reach the 47 miles per gallon promised by the window sticker. The new ratings were dropped about a month ago to 45 mpg on the freeway and 40 mpg in the city. Ford offered rebates for current C-Max owners, with $550 going to those that bought their car and $325 to lessees. The issue, says Ford, stemmed from testing standards that allowed the automaker to base the C-Max's fuel economy on the Fusion Hybrid, because they use identical powertrains. The C-Max's less aerodynamic shape wasn't taken into account, though.
Whether Ford's PR team handled the crises perfectly or people just aren't that bothered by a four-mpg drop in combined ratings, demand remains strong for the C-Max among consumers. Ford moved 3,000 units in August, which was a 12-percent jump over July sales. Meanwhile, consumer demand through third-party shopping websites remains strong as well, according to Autometrics, a data analysis company that spoke with Automotive News. While the long-term effects of the adjustments remain unknown, the C-Max appears to have fared well in the near term.
Watch live as Mark Fields is officially named Ford's next CEO
Thu, 01 May 2014We've heard rumblings of a changing of the guard at Ford, and this live stream from The Blue Oval itself is set to confirm the rumors: Alan Mulally will be succeeded by the automaker's current Chief Operating Officer, Mark Fields.
Mulally, who is 68 years old, has served at the head of Ford for eight years, and his official retirement date will be July 1st, 2014. Fields, who is 53 this year, has been with Ford for 25 years and has been groomed to take the helm from Mulally for the last several of those years.
There's an official press release that you can read, but if you're more of a visual person, you're welcome to watch the live video feed of the announcement down below.
