We have for sale a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor that we just obtained from a local police department who purchased the vehicle new and was in service right up to the time we picked it up. This car has 75163 miles on its certified speedometer/odometer. Our in house service department has gone over the car and serviced everything on the car such as checking brakes, changing the oil, checking the belts and hoses and so on. This car works 100%, this department maintained their vehicles on a regular basis and you can see this with this car beyond a doubt. The sister car to this unit was actually sold and went back in service to another police agency a few days before we picked this one up. The car has Pennsylvania safety and emissions stickers good until 12/2013. All of the power windows work as do the power locks. The air conditioning and heat work as they should, the power seat and lumbar support work and so does the rear defrost. The engine starts smoothly and the transmission shift perfectly.

We have removed nothing from the car as you can see, except the department name. The car still has the prisoner cage and shotgun/rifle rack installed as well as the lap top desk and wiring, the arm rest and center console. The vehicle also has a push bumper on the front and an external spot light which also works. The interior report light is a two colored unit featuring red to save the operators night vision when in use. The front (exterior) and rear strobes (interior) as well as the corner strobes are still in the vehicle, we will remove these before delivery unless it goes back to a law enforcement agency, the rest of the equipment will stay unless the buyer wants it removed. We can remove all the decals and/or paint the car black for a slight up charge if the buyer desires.

This is an excellent example of a later model Ford Police Interceptor that has just come off the road and was not taken out of service for some type of problem. If you are looking for one of these cars you would be hard pressed to find one nicer with all its original equipment and that is not still in use by a police agency. The car of course has the factory Ford P71 or Police Interceptor package which includes a heavy duty suspension, frame and wheels, a limited slip rear differential, dual exhaust, a 200 amp alternator and oil and transmission coolers. The seats are like brand new in the rear and the front show very little wear and are not torn at all.

We sell many of these cars, this is one of the nicer ones to have come through. Again, since we have a custom shop we can make this car solid black if the buyer desires. If you have an interest in this or any of our other P71's please call Carlevale Custom Cars at 717-685-1341.

Ford announces first non-pursuit-rated police car ever

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

Ford announced its first non-pursuit-rated Police Interceptor ever, based on the Taurus, which employs the smaller 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine in place of similar pursuit-rated Police Interceptors powered by naturally aspirated 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter V6s and the top-spec 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Officially called the Special Service Police sedan, the car was commissioned at the request of law-enforcement agencies that desire a more fuel-efficient vehicle for detectives, administrators and campus police, who don't necessarily need pursuit-rated vehicles.
The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, but more importantly, it allows the SSP sedan to achieve somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 miles per gallon city and 32 mpg highway, which are the civilian 2.0-liter Taurus' official EPA ratings. Ford estimates that the SSP sedan will get 20 mpg city, 30 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined, with the help of Active Grille Shutters that open to allow more cooling air through to the radiator, or close to optimize aerodynamics and fuel economy. Those numbers compare favorably to the discontinued Crown Victoria-based Interceptor's 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway and the newer Taurus-based cars equipped with V6s, the most fuel efficient of which gets 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
If it was driven 90,000 miles over the course of three years, a 2.0-liter SSP sedan would save law enforcement agencies $5,042.92 versus the Crown Vic, Ford estimates. The EPA is expected to post official fuel-economy numbers for the SSP sedan in December. Until then, read the press release below for more information.

Ford board pushing Mulally for decision amidst fears story is drowning out other news

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

Automakers and their executives rarely like to divulge information regarding future goings on, but the board of directors at Ford sound like they're getting a little antsy about chief executive officer Alan Mulally and his plans for 2014.
According to Reuters, as news of Mulally's possible departure to Microsoft continues to swirl, Ford's board is looking to push the affable executive to make a decision about his future sooner rather than later. Apparently, the board is growing concerned that this will-he/won't-he drama may end up distracting the media from covering Ford's other big news events next year - items like the debut of key all-new products like the Mustang and F-150.
So far, the picture for Mulally's eventual successor remains fuzzy, but it's understood that the leading candidate remains the company's chief operating officer, Mark Fields. Just recently, we heard that Mulally will stay until the end of 2014, but a few months ago, Ford seemed open to the idea of him stepping down earlier than that.

2017 Ford GT looks resplendent in Liquid Silver and will be built in Ontario

Thu, Feb 12 2015

You didn't think we'd let an opportunity to capture another high-res image gallery of our favorite vehicle from the North American International Auto Show pass by, now that it's taking center stage in Chicago, did you? Especially since it's now painted in a brand-new hue? Of course not. And so we're happy to present to you the 2017 Ford GT in Liquid Silver, wearing titanium-tinted racing stripes. It may not be as classically American as the show-stopping blue that debuted with the concept in Detroit, but it's beautiful nonetheless. And, in even better news, we hear that the GT has been confirmed for production at Ford's factory in Markham, Ontario, according to our Canadian friends at CTV News. To recap what we know about the Ford GT – besides the fact that we're in mad, mad love with it, of course – it's beautiful, will be powered by a mid-mounted 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with "more than 600 horsepower," it's beautiful, it sends all that power to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, it's beautiful, blends a carbon fiber monocoque and body panels with aluminum subframes, and it's beautiful. We think it's likely headed for endurance-racing competition, as was the original GT40 that is its spiritual grandfather, and we're sure it will look good doing it. Heck, maybe it'll even win at Le Mans. In any case, check it out in high-res glory below, in multiple color schemes, in both images and video.
