We have for sale a nice one owner Ford Crown Victoria which we obtained from a local municipal police department who purchased the car new with 25 miles on it. The car now has 102081 miles on its certified odometer/speedometer. This car was well maintained and came with a folder full of written service records from the department. Our in house service staff has gone over the car from front to back and the car needs nothing, everything works as it should. This car starts with ease and runs and drives perfectly, the transmission shifts on time and firmly and the engine runs without a hitch. The car is inspected until 06/2014.
Our body shop has gone over the car and has you can see the car no longer has any holes from mounting radio antenna's or lights. This really cleaned up the exterior of the car which otherwise was in very good condition. The interior of the car is in great shape, the rear seats and the floor look new, the front seats show minimal wear and don't have the common huge tears from the officers duty gear. As I said above everything on the car works, the power windows all work, the power locks all work, the rear window defroster works, even the exterior spotlight works. The air conditioning is ice cold and the heat is blazing hot. This car is not perfect but it is in very good condition inside and out. These cars are getting harder to find in this kind of shape and if you have wanted one this is an opportunity to own a true police interceptor that needs nothing to drive away in. This is a real Ford "P71" and has all of the "Police Interceptor" package upgrades from the factory. The package includes a heavy duty suspension and frame, upgraded brakes, sway bars front and rear, a limited slip rear differential, true dual exhaust, heavy duty wheels and a 200 amp alternator. The car could go back in service tomorrow and need nothing, for a daily driver or normal use know one knows how many miles this car has left in it, they are designed to go at least 250,000 miles. If you have an interest in this or any of our other P71's please call Carlevale Custom Cars at 717-685-1341. Since this car is for sale on our lot we reserve the right to end the listing early should it sell. |

First Ford Mustang prototype shots caught by legendary spy shooter Jim Dunne
Fri, 12 Apr 2013You know how people refer to someone as having "been around the block" to mean they're very experienced? Well, when it comes to automotive spy photography, Jim Dunne actually laid down the concrete slabs of the block's sidewalk. The unforgettable Dunne more or less invented the car spy game - a fact he cemented by writing book called Car Spy - and has been delivering spy shots and reporting on the industry for some 45 years now. (He also once employed this writer as his impromptu personal chauffer on a Volkswagen trip in Germany, while he slept, but that's a story for a different time.)
In any event, Dunne must be on a mission to prove that "elder statesman" doesn't also mean "washed up" as it is his shots of the upcoming new 2014 Ford Mustang that we've been handed by our friends at KGP Photography.
Mr. Dunne has likely spent the last few years obtaining powerful telescopic lenses, as the Ford in question has clearly been photographed from some distance. Nevertheless, what you see here is visual evidence that the sixth-generation Mustang has moved beyond the mule stage, and is now testing in proper prototype form. Sources indicate that there are production-spec body panels under that baggy canvass dress; but the slightly less bulky silhouette of the new car can be just made out. While the car's bumpers have been removed to obfuscate things, we can tell by way of the camo's apertures that the car's taillights have moved upwards and towards the lip of the tail. A fender vent appears to be visible, too, just behind the front wheel.
NHTSA opens investigation into Ford Explorer PI brakes
Wed, 27 Aug 2014This year more than most, it's pleasant when we can string together a few days without word of an automaker or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announcing a bunch of new recalls. It's seemingly been a little quiet on this front lately (barring a spider-related Suzuki issue revealed early today), but now we have word of the government safety agency opening a Preliminary Evaluation into the 2013 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor, a probe that could potentially affect an estimated 20,000 vehicles.
The issue being investigated concerns failures of the front brake hose on the vehicle that show "small splits in the hoses near the body side ferrule of the hose assembly," according to the agency, and the issue could result in longer stopping distances. The feds have reports of 13 malfunctions affecting 11 Explorer units. However, it's important to note that all of the incidents come from a single, unnamed metropolitan police fleet that operates 46 of them. According to The Detroit News, the failures generally took place between December and July.
NHTSA is investigating further to find if this is a more widespread issue than just this one fleet. Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker confirmed to us, "We are cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation, as we always do." Scroll down to read the agency's report.
Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines
Sun, 24 Nov 2013Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.
