2006 P71 POLICE INTERCEPTOR. THIS HAS BEEN MY DAILY DRIVER FOR THE LAST YEAR AND HALF.
OTHER THAN SOME SMALL TEARS IN DRIVERS SEAT CLOTH, AND SOME SCRATCHES AND SCUFFS FROM NORMAL DRIVING, THIS CAR IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION.
THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE IS THE ELECTRONIC MILEAGE READOUT IS A LITTLE DIM. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE CROWN VIC'S AND HAS NEVER CAUSED ME ANY REAL CONCERN.
LAST MONTH, I REPLACED THE RADIATOR, FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS, LEFT REAR AXLE SEAL, CHANGED ENGINE OIL WITH MOBIL 1, AND PERFORMED TRANSMISSION SERVICE. ALSO PERFORMED "J MOD" ON TRANS FOR BETTER SHIFT QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE. GOOGLE J-MOD FOR MORE INFORMATION.
HEADLAMP HARNESS HAS BEEN UPGRADED WITH RELAYS TO ALLOW FULL BATTERY POWER TO GET TO HEADLIGHTS. THIS MODIFICATION ALONG WITH SYLVANIA SILVERSTAR HEADLIGHT BULBS MAKES DRIVING AT NIGHT A TREAT.
VEHICLE HAS RARE LIFETIME COOLING SYSTEM HOSES. CAN BE TOLD APART FROM REGULAR HOSES AS THEY ARE LIGHT BLUE IN COLOR.
AS I STATED, VEHICLE IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO JUMP IN AND DRIVE IT ACROSS COUNTRY! I AM ONLY LOOKING TO SELL AS OUR FAMILY IS GROWING AND WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A SUBURBAN OR YUKON TO FIT EVERYONE.
PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO END OF AUCTION!

Jay Leno drives postcard-perfect '32 Ford Highboy Roadster
Mon, 25 Aug 2014At the turn of the century, it was arguably the Honda Civic that best defined inexpensive performance tuning, and in the '50s it was the Tri-5 Chevys. One of the earliest platforms to gain a huge following among young people looking for a cheap way to go fast was the classic '32 Ford Highboy Roadster. This week, Jay Leno's Garage looks at one of the very first vehicles that defined the look of the hot rod heyday.
This '32 Ford was built in the '40s and graced the cover of the fourth issue of Hot Rod Magazine back in 1948. All of the hot rods that you see shining at car shows today owe a serious debt of gratitude to this roadster. It bears all of the cues that define the look, including a notched frame and hidden door hinges. Under the three-piece hood is a flathead V8 boasting all sorts of period modifications, including copper cylinder heads. It was seriously fast in its era too, and proved it by reaching 112.21 miles per hour on a dry lakebed in 1947.
These days, this hot rod is on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Although, if you can't make it to California to see it, the United States Postal Service is celebrating this Ford with one of its two hot rod Forever stamps. Like Jay says in the video, in terms of hot rodding, "it all comes back to this." Check out the video to learn more about this rolling piece of tuning history.
EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm
Fri, 28 Dec 2012Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.
Ford F-Series Super Duty prototype reduced to smoldering mess of aluminum and steel [UPDATE]
Mon, 04 Aug 2014The most important bit of information you need to know after looking through our high-res gallery of images depicting a prototype 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck burning to the ground is that nobody was hurt. There were two engineers inside the vehicle when it caught fire, and both exited to safety.
That's the good news. The bad news is that the truck, which appears to have been testing in Death Valley, appears to be a total loss, minus, of course, whatever information Ford can glean from the conflagration - particularly tracing it back to its root cause. Besides that, we're also expecting the body of the next Super Duty to be hewn from aluminum, as is the case with its smaller brother, the brand-new F-150. Note the little aluminum droppings littering the roadway as apparent proof of that.
Our spy photographers report that it took just 21 minutes for the F-Series Super Duty to burn completely to the ground. The fire appears to have started in the driver-side front wheel well, spreading to engulf the entire front end in three minutes. We can't confirm the source of the blaze, but we're curious if the car's black vinyl cladding, meant to obscure the secrets within, contributed to the fire.
