2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police P71 Gray 99k on 2040-cars
Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, United States
Up for sale is a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria P71 police package with low 99,800 miles on it. Im the second owner....the first was the town of Southborough,MA. It exited fleet service just over a year ago. I then purchased from a local dealer and have used the car as a commuter even since and its never let me down. The car was painted dark shadow grey before I purchased it which is not its original color as the door jams....etc are white. I removed the spotlight when I purchased and no longer have it. Anything the car needed since Ive owned it I replaced and didn't put anything off. Its received new spark plugs, front brake pads, replaced front brake backing plate rivots, replaced exhaust clamps, replaced transmission front seal, replaced starter... replaced oil pan...a few weeks back I brought to the local ford dealer where they replaced the steering shaft and completed a fully synthetic oil change...while I was there they looked the car over and noted a few things...it needed front lower ball joints....had a small section of tranny line leaking and the airbox was distorted and allowing unfiltered air in. All of which I addressed....left and front lower ball joints were just replaced....transmission line section was replaced....the airbox was realigned and new air filter was installed. Last November I replaced all 4 tires with a set of Goodyear RSA police rated tires that had 90% tread remaining. Id guess they have at least 80% still remaining. I also purchased a full size spare tire and put a Goodyear RSA matching tire on that as well. The hour meter on the car reads around 4400. I have a clean title in hand. The car starts and runs great....drives down the road straight without vibration or rattles and stops and shifts as it should. While I have only used the car for commuting the first owner was a small town police department and it was in service with them for the first several years. I still have the car on the road as a daily drive so mileage will continue to increase. Overall I would call the car in good shape for its history but minor imperfections in the paint....scratches dings etc can be expected. The interior has cloth seats in front and vinyl seat in rear....few old screw holes in dash....couple cut out holes in headliner from aux light. The car has power windows and locks. Bought an awd drive car to commute with is reason for sale. The car is located in central Massachusetts....I have described the car and its condition to the best of my ability....please feel free to inspect before bidding/purchasing. I have no problem having a mechanic inspect the car around my location but this is on your expense. As with most used cars this vehicle is being sold in as is condition with no warranty expressed or implied. There are no guarantees of vehicle longevity or ability to pass inspection in your state. If you need anymore information or picture in your decision making contact me its not a problem. Im not interested in trades of any kind. All payment must be cleared in my possession prior to me releasing the title. |

Car companies used to cook up sales with recipe books
Fri, 08 Aug 2014The evolution of automotive marketing has undergone a number of strange phases. Few, though, match the strangeness of the 1930s to 1950s, when automotive marketers turned to cookbooks as a means of promoting their vehicles. Yes, cookbooks. We can't make this stuff up, folks.
This bizarre trend led to General Motors distributing cookbooks under the guise of its then-subsidiary Frigidaire. Ford, meanwhile, offered a compilation of recipes from Ford Credit Employees (shown above). The cookbook-craze wasn't limited to domestic manufacturers, though. As The Detroit News discovered, both Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen got in on the trend, although not until the 1970s.
The News has the full story on this strange bit of marketing. Head over and take a look.
Check out Ford's fully automated self-parking car [w/video]
Wed, 09 Oct 2013As automakers continue to find uses for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicle technology, Ford of Europe has announced that it is developing a self-parking system for future use. More advanced than the Active Park Assist already offered in many Ford products, the new Fully Assisted Parking Aid can take full control of the vehicle and can navigate angled and perpendicular parking spots.
While today's Active Park Assist can only parallel park with the driver controlling the gas, brake and gear selection, Fully Assisted Parking Aid can operate steering, gas, brake and gear selection all while making sure the car is properly parked in the intended space. As with APA, the driver pushes a button to make the car look for a proper spot (at speeds of up to 18 miles per hour), and when an adequate space is located, the operator pushes another button (either inside the car or outside via remote control) for the car to park itself - the button must be pressed throughout the whole parking maneuver. Even though Ford says that the car can effect gear selections on its own, the system must still start from Neutral, and the automaker isn't saying whether the car can put itself into Park when done or put itself in Drive when the operator is ready to go.
Ford is also taking the opportunity to announce its new Obstacle Avoidance technology. This automated system is able to detect objects - including pedestrians - in the road, warn drivers of said objects and, if needed, stop and steer automatically to avoid hitting the obstacle. Both systems are still in the prototype phase, so there is no word as to when we could see either on a production vehicle.
Ford is building this sweet back-to-basics SUV in Brazil
Mon, 02 Jun 2014We're use to forbidden fruit teasing us in Europe. Hatchbacks and diesels from Renault, Citroën, Peugeot, Skoda, SEAT and Alfa Romeo have been a regular torment that we've grown accustomed to over the years. This vehicle, though, is one piece of forbidden fruit we aren't entirely sure we can get over. We need it.
It's called the Ford Troller T4, and if you accidentally read that as either "reborn Ford Bronco" or "Americanized Land Rover Defender," we wouldn't be rushing to correct you. It's a basic, badass SUV, and is the first new vehicle to come from Troller since Ford gobbled it up in 2007. For those with longer memories, you'll recognize this vehicle from the concept that preceded it, the Ford T-R Concept. The production model remains remarkably true to the T-R, as well as past Trollers, but it's a slightly more modern look overall, with LED taillights, contrasting colors
You'll have to bear with us on the details, as we've been forced to rely on the notoriously literal Google Translate to convert the original Portuguese into English, which means some of the details were lost along the way.
