Up for auction is a fresh out of service well maintained Crown Victoria police interceptor with low mileage. Only 72,400 miles! Very hard to find near perfect Blue exterior. Just in from a southern state and it shows, a very clean car with no rust and rides like new coming from a county in VA with no pot holes... unlike here in Ohio. Interior is in great shape with NO cage holes or cut up or drilled dash. Options above standard include silicone hoses, adjustable pedals, power seat, full size hubcaps, legal tinted windows, door moldings installed. All accessories work as they should with no issues found. This is one of the cleanest best driving p71s of its age I have seen, the body is in excellent shape very shiny with no dents or scratches, only very minor normal imperfections that would be expected of a car its age that's been well taken care of. Engine runs perfectly and transmission shifts perfectly, tires are in great shape and brakes have approx. 75% life left. It has been fully serviced and checked over by a ASE certified mechanic and has no known issues. All body panels have factory vin stickers. As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.
How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be
Fri, 20 Sep 2013Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.
