2001 Ford Crown Victoria Cng Police Interceptor on 2040-cars
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States
Other things I forgot to add, that I just remembered are the horn does not work (not sure why), the steering wheel has a cover but the original leather underneath it is bad, that is a bent piece of metal stripping in one of the pictures, the factory installed tanks expired in 2013, but this has the extended range tanks and the sticker says 2016; unless you dismantle the whole car they may or may not be there, I don't know. The mechanics that I have talked to said that the 2016 sticker super cedes all else. And there is pictures of the stickers below. Also, the ac and heat and the radio work great. The car runs great. Still a daily driver till sold. I have also included a few more pictures of the cracks and tiny hole in the dash. The trunk will be cleared out, but will include the spare tire. Just wanted to show that the tanks take up half the trunk. Also another thing weird about the car, maybe because it was a cop car, the locks are only manual on the passenger side; the driver, though, has full control of the buttons. Right now this is for the most part about everything that I can think of at this time. Will keep updating if need be.
This is currently a 3000 PSI CNG vehicle. They are phasing these out for 3600 PSI. I have talked to mechanics and since it's dedicated, and the way it's set up, it can easily be changed over to 3600 with just new tanks, regulators, and the 3600 nozzle adapter. But with no money to do that I am left with no choice but to sell it. Right now the tanks in it are not expired and are extended range; you will have till 2016 before they expire. There is some areas that may have 3000, but please do not rely on websites that state they have working 3000 PSI pumps; most have been taken out. If you decide to buy locally, there is a few pumps still left in the city and a few outside. Other things not listed above are: Seats are a Floor Carpet Material and are Very Basic Will Only Seat 4 Medium Sized People (this is not meant for 4 heavy size/tall people due to the tanks being in the back) Will Need Oil Changed/Fluids Flushed/Alignment/Tires (maybe down the road) Hole Covers on Top Where Light Bar Was Tag is Up to Date Car Runs Great (Costs me locally between $15 and $20 to fill up a tank) Will Work With You If You Must Use a Delivery Service (expense of new buyer) I am the 3rd Owner (1st Owner was the Dallas Police Department) |

FCA close to paying off debt, outperforming Ford in earnings
Fri, Jan 26 2018FCA boosting output of SUVs, trucks in U.S. Marchionne says the company no longer needs a merger partner FCA expects to pay off all debt this year "There's a very strong likelihood that we will outperform Ford" MILAN/DETROIT — Fiat Chrysler's shift to sell more trucks and SUVs boosted margins yet again in its North American profit center, making Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne confident he can hit most of the final targets of his five-year turnaround plan. FCA has been retooling some U.S. factories to boost output of lucrative sport-utility vehicles and trucks while ending production of some unprofitable sedans. This put the world's seventh-largest carmaker on track to become debt-free by the end of the year, and allowed Marchionne to make good on his promise to close the gap on larger U.S. rivals General Motors (GM) and Ford. "There's a very strong likelihood that we will outperform Ford in terms of operating earnings in 2018," Marchionne told analysts on an earnings call Thursday. "That's something that if I told any of us in the room here that would've been doable five years ago, nobody would have believed it." As the 65-year-old executive prepares to hand over the reins to an internal successor next year, he said the improvements mean the company no longer needed a partner to survive. The carmaker has often been the subject of merger speculation, especially after its unsuccessful 2015 attempt to tie up with GM. "The necessity to find a partner, to try and guarantee our survival, going forward, is put to bed. I mean we're done," Marchionne told analysts on a post-results conference call. North America accounted for 71 percent of earnings last quarter, and profit margins in the region rose to 8 percent from 7.1 percent a year earlier, even as shipments fell 3 percent. Meanwhile Ford's automotive margin for North America slipped to 6.8 percent, down from 8.5 percent a year earlier.FCA trimmed its expectations for 2018 revenues and forecast adjusted operating profit of at least 8.7 billion euros, at the lower end of a previously given range. Analysts said FCA's margin improvement was impressive, and it could be on the cusp of a big boost from its new Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Cherokee models and its Ram 1500 truck. FCA ready to pay off its debt But the Italian-American carmaker expects to cancel all debt during 2018 — possibly by the end of June — and generate around 4 billion euros in net cash by the end of the year.
Ford cleans up painting process with cameras
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Knowing how the bacon gets made rarely entices us and, in the same vein, the same usually goes for knowing about how new cars get painted. But in both instances, however, quality - or a lack thereof - is instantly obvious. In terms of the latter, Ford is showing off its new paint quality process with 3D Dirt Detection Technology to find imperfections in vehicle paint more easily and more quickly.
This process - being performed on the F-150 SVT Raptor above - uses 16 computer-controlled cameras to create a three-dimensional model (inset) of the vehicle to detect flaws in the paint including dirt particles, which can then be buffed out manually. Ford says this new technology cuts down on time spent looking for paint flaws and gives workers more time to correct those that are discovered.
Currently, Ford only uses its 3D Dirt Detection Technology system at three factories (the Dearborn, MI facility, along with those in Louisville, Kentucky and Valencia, Spain), but it will soon spread to five more plants in North America. Ford has released a video and press release for this innovative and unexpectedly interesting process, both of which are posted below.
The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land
Thu, Oct 15 2015Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top.
