1955 Ford Crown Victoria Fairlane Barn Find V8 Overdrive on 2040-cars
Storrs Mansfield, Connecticut, United States
Here Is a true barn find of a rare classic. A 1955 Crown Victoria that has been garaged and off the road i=since 1961, This car still wears its Maine plates with the metal tag for 1960. This is a nearly complete Project car. I say nearly complete, because the previous owner took out the motor and trans then took the engine apart. We found a couple y blocks, heads, and tin. I will include the used parts that the car is Missing, but there may be some small bits we just dont have, I found in the trunk the orig intake and front cover, teapot holley 4v carb, and big oil bath air cleaner. amongst some other bits and pieces. The condition of the car is Good in my opinion for a 60 year old northeast car. There is a couple small holes in the spare tire well, and the interior floors are scaley but I didnt see any holes. I removed what was left of the carpet in an attempt to clean it out and get a view of the floors. The orig seats are still in the car, we did remove the rear seat to get into the trunk as we dont have the keys. the glass is in good shape except for the rh vent window, but will include a good used one. the stainless trim is in good shape...there is a lot of it and with a good buffing will shine like brand new,Again this car needs a restoration or throw a motor in it and drive it as it is...although it has been sitting for over 50 years, so id recommend checking everything out first. The clock shows 46k and I believe that to be original mileage. The dash is all there and in good shape even has the radio, the glove box door was down and didnt want to go up so I let it be rather than bend anything, needs to soak in some penetrating oil to be freed up. You can see in the picture its missing one headlamp door, we do have that, also the rear stone guards in front of the rear tires. Only thing thats missing is the trunk moulding, and we may have that just havnt come across it yet, this has the rear antennae option also. All in all this is a great restoration project of a really cool old car, I also have a Ton of NOS parts that came with the car that we can talk about if you win the car, some of those parts include Trunk moulding, lock sets, suspension, trim, windshield and back lite, lenses, housing, bumper guards, hub caps, trim, chrome, speedometer, and lots lots more. I have a spreadsheet with over 250 items on it and still have more to list. This is a project car and sold as is how is and every other kind of is. Ask questions before bidding, ill be glad to answer anything you might want to know or ill find out, Car is located in Eastern Ct. A 500$ non refundable deposit is due within 24 hrs of the end of the auction. its non refundable only because I still have to pay the ebay fees if you back out. If you dont have the Money please dont bid. check out my other auctions for nos parts and great used stuff for ford products. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is also for sale locally...thank you and good luck Id love to see this car go to a good home, and we could help you with the restoration if youd like. Ct Doesnt title vehicles pre 1981 so this car is sold with a bill of sale. You could get a title fairly easily if it was required. we may have that just not found it yet also, if we do find it more than happy to include it after the fact.

What next for Alan Mulally?
Wed, 23 Apr 2014Alan Mulally has emerged as a hero when it comes to American manufacturing. He came to Ford in 2006 after serving as head of Boeing's commercial aircraft division, streamlined operations, sold off the costly elements of its Premier Automotive Group and saved Ford from having to be bailed out by the federal government like its cross-town rivals Chrysler and General Motors did. But as we reported mere days ago, he's widely expected to step down from the chief executive's office at Ford shortly.
So what's next for one of the most successful executives in the business? Hard to say, but don't expect Mulally to disappear into retirement. Though he didn't ultimately take the top job at Microsoft, industry insiders expect to see him in another influential position - likely as a board director or even chairman of another company. (We say "another company" and not Ford because while Bill Ford may have stepped aside as CEO to bring Mulally on board in the first place, we don't see him giving up his chairmanship of the board also.)
Mulally has likely already lined up his next move, and could either announce what that move will be as soon as Ford confirms Mark Fields as his successor, or could wait awhile. Insiders speculate that he could leverage his transportation and aerospace experience into a position at General Electric or a major airline, his manufacturing expertise to benefit a company like Procter & Gamble or his management skills at a consultancy firm.
