1999 FORD CONTOUR SE

Great Economical Transportation

This is a lotta car, for not much money!

ONLY 88,000 MILES!

Everything Works, New Battery, Runs Great!

Automatic Transmission, Cold Air Conditioning, Economical 2.0L 4 Cyl Engine, Power Steering, Brakes, Mirrors, Rear Defroster, Power Windows, Cruise Control, Power Locks, Tilt Wheel, Stereo, New Battery, Matched almost new Tires, Alloy Wheels.

DRIVE TRAIN:  This Contour runs good!  The average 1999 model car has about 180,000 miles.  This Contour has about half the typical miles.  No knocks, no ticks, no drips, no slips, no excuses... you can drive it home.  Brand New Battery, Almost new tires! Good solid dependable transportation.  This car will pass Virginia State Mechanical Inspection.  This means tires, glass, suspension, shocks, lenses, exhaust, lights, brakes, etc. are all in good, safe working order.

INTERIOR:  Good condition, seats, interior panels, trim, in good condition.  The leading edge of the dashboard has the heat curl that Ford designed into each Contour... no problem there when it comes to driving great.  Interior is clean.

EXTERION:  Paint is in fair shape. The color is good and the overall general appearance is good.  There are some small parking lot type dings here and there, and a couple of rubs on each side of the front bumper cover, but not really beat up.  The sheet metal is good both above and below the car with one exception.  The underneat rocker panels behind the last half of the rear doors, have some corrosion problems.  Ford designed this area to hold water into each Contour... the rest of everything on this car does not have a corrosion problem.  This area which is affected, is a non-vital trim area underneath the doors.  You virtually have to look under the car from your knees to see this corrosion. One of the Alloy wheels needs a center cap. It will not degrade the good transportation this Contour will provide.

QUESTIONS:  Ask me your questions.  I will give honest and complete answers. The photos are a fair representation of this car.

Ford Announces Free Brake-Pad Offer If Customers Stop By Dealers

Mon, Aug 4 2014

These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers. "We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts. Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1. "This program reflects our commitment to providing customers with an excellent ownership experience regardless of the age of their vehicle," said Frederiek Toney, President of Ford Customer Service, in the company's announcement of the offer. Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.

US Ford Focus RS to be imported from Europe

Tue, 21 Oct 2014

Rumors about the forthcoming Ford Focus RS are flourishing into what sounds like a very impressive new hot hatch. The latest scuttlebutt gives the first indication about when we might see a few of these fast Focuses on roads here in the US.
Unnamed insiders reportedly confirmed to The Truth About Cars that Ford plans to launch the Focus RS in the US in 2016. However, getting one might not be so easy - the boosted powertrain means the car would likely need to be imported from Europe. That's likely going to keep the total number available in the US rather low. The sources estimate a price tag that's a bit more expensive than the top Focus ST3, which starts around $28,500, plus $825 destination.
It seems that a pretty potent package comes for all of that cash, though. The Focus RS reportedly uses a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making between 325 and 350 horsepower, with a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system to get that muscle to the road. The test mules also wear more aggressive front and rear fascias, dual exhaust tips, larger brakes and sticky tires. It sounds like a great formula on top of the already enjoyable Focus ST.
