Vehicle comes with Wild Horses 4x4 roll cage which is not installed.  Also the previous owners (originally owned by a father then passed down to his adult son) were great about keeping records about everything about this Bronco.  You'll see in the pictures a 3 Ring Binder which contains all information about engine rebuild and transmission, gearing, etc...  Also comes with a box full of repair manuals, catalogues and miscellaneous related books, magazines and papers.  You will know the entire history of this vehicle.  The only thing that I've been able to do to the Bronco is replace the windshield which had a small crack in it.

Original Interior with back seat, dash with all working gauges and original radio.

Odometer says 75,843 miles but engine was rebuilt 8-10 years ago and has approximately 10k miles on it.  Starts right up and runs like a champion.

I always like to point out areas/items that I would fix if I my wife let me keep all the cars I came across so here's that list:
  • Rust - Passenger side floor pan and rocker panel needs work/replaced.  The driver side floor pan was replaced by previous owner and passenger side was marked up to be repaired but work was never done.  The passenger side rocker panel has one rust spot about 4 - 5 inches in it.  The previous owner was going to add side steps and drilled the holes which is where the rust came from.  The driver side rocker panel never had the holes drilled and has absolutely no issues.
  • Front Seats - Front seats need to be recovered.  The foam/padding is good but the vinyl has torn at the seams on both driver and passenger seat.
  • Dash - The dash is in perfect condition but it is missing the ashtray.
  • Engine - Runs great but will need $25 Carburetor kit eventually.  No smoking and has all smog equipment if you're state requires it.
  • Auxiliary Fuel Tank - Needs new seal/gasket.
If you've been looking for an early Bronco for any reason (rock crawler, cruiser, restoration candidate, etc...) this is the one.  With very minimal work this guy will be in excellent condition.  As it is its perfect for a daily driver while you work on it...

  • Buyer is Responsible for Pick-up.  If needed I can help to coordinate shipping.  I've worked with a few great shippers who go to all parts of the United States.

2015 Ford F-150 to get up to 26 miles per gallon

Fri, Nov 21 2014

The 2015 Ford F-150 is one of the most important US vehicle debuts in years, be it in the pickup segment or the entire marketplace. While we've already known about the truck's engine lineup, its payload ratings and we've even learned a bit about how it drives, the truck's EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings have remained a mystery. The wait is finally over. Ford has announced numbers that put the latest F-150 as the mileage leader among gasoline-powered, full-size pickups in the US, with its new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 topping the charts. Starting with the entry-level naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6, the rear-wheel-drive F-150 is rated at 18-miles-per-gallon city, 25-mpg highway and 20-mpg combined. Opting for four-wheel drive drops those numbers slightly to 17/23/19. If fuel economy is your absolute priority, then upgrading to the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 is the hot ticket. It improves things further to 19/26/22 in rear-wheel drive trim or 18/23/20 with four-wheel drive. The carryover naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 is rated at 15/22/18 as a 4X2 or 15/21/17 as a 4X4. Finally, the flagship 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 tops the range in available torque and offers buyers 17/24/20 ratings with rear-wheel drive or 17/23/19 with four-wheel drive. "We are delivering with the toughest, smartest and most capable F-150 ever – and now the highest EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of any full-size gas-powered pickup in America," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development, in the company's announcement. Depending on engine and drivetrain configuration, Ford contends that the 2.7-liter EcoBoost's top rating puts fuel economy up between 5 and 29 percent over the current generation, thanks in large part to the truck's lighter aluminum construction. Obviously, these are EPA estimates, and your mileage may vary – ours has. Recently, Autoblog team members have had real difficulty even approximating government mpg estimates on many EcoBoost models, including the new F-150. Ford profits soar as problems mount

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Ford is doing well. It can't make enough examples of its new Fusion, it can barely make enough of the aging F-150, it's getting good brand rankings, people like its turnaround story, it's selling oodles of product and its quarterly profit numbers end in the word "billion." As other high-flying examples have demonstrated over the past few years, though, big numbers can come with problems that aren't exactly small.
Automotive News has published a good "nutshell" report of Ford's progress and problems. The Dearborn automaker's optimistic "general label rule" determination of gas mileage for the C-Max Hybrid has led to lawsuits, hybrid software updates, a downward revision of C-Max fuel economy and millions in rebates. AN notes the C-Max was the "worst-scoring model in this year's J.D. Power Initial Quality Study," but Ford will probably be happy that it managed not to be mentioned further in the study's results after last year's mediocre showing. Its MyTouch and SYNC systems, the bugbears sabotaging Ford's J.D. Power results, have also led to lawsuits, software updates, more software updates and a center console rethink. On top of that, the 1.6-liter EcoBoost in the 2013 Ford Escape that Ford called a "hero" was soon catching fire for three different reasons. And let's not even get into the troubled launch of the Lincoln MKZ.
The Automotive News piece notes that industry observers have been surprised at Ford's stumbles because everything has been looking so good. Nevertheless, there is still the issue of those billions in profits - the company is doing plenty of things, plural, right. Ford says it is tackling its problems, hiring engineers and instituting new quality control processes as part of its effort to find solutions. The test will be to see if in a year from now we begin the discussion of these issues with "Remember when Ford...", or "Problems continue at The Blue Oval."

1947 Chevy rat rod pickup leaves rubber and smoke in its wake

Thu, 08 May 2014

Cool comes in multiple flavors. One one hand, we have the sophisticated attraction of svelte design and the efficient use of power. Of course, on the other hand there is the allure of being the bad boy and going against the grain. That is part of the appeal of rat rods. Ideally, they are built without rules to an owner's specific tastes, and this widened and heavily modified 1947 Chevrolet pickup rod is a perfect example of that spirit.
Coming down the highway with a bent grille, rusted body and pouring smoke, it looks like the pickup from hell. It backs up the looks with some very impressive mechanicals too. Owner Troy Gubser says that the truck packs a Ford Power Stroke diesel with to 42 pounds of boost that runs out of 8-inch exhaust stacks at the back. He claims it managed 505 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque on the dyno. To harness all that power, this hot rod has a ZF five-speed manual gearbox with a ceramic clutch and short-throw shifter. Plus, it has cool little features like a doorbell on the tailgate that operates an air horn.
You might not expect a truck like this to actually be useful, but it has a fifth wheel coupling to haul an RV around drag races and car shows. The air suspension also probably keeps the ride fairly comfy when Gubser wants it to be. Scroll down to check out this beastly rat rod pickup and watch it engage in some diesel drag racing. Warning, there is some NSFW language.
