Up for sale is a 1986 ford bronco with a 302 fuel injected V8 this bronco is free from rust and is clean inside and out. It looks as good as it does in the pictures as it does in person. Interior has orginal dash which has no cracks orginal digital clock which works perfectly, orginal bench style seats with no rips or tears orginal factory casset radio with four speakers which all work ac system blows cold heater blows warm power rear window work perfectly orginal rubber floor from front to back is in awesome shape has factory installed cb radio from stratoline which works. Exterior has orginal paint light blue paint with normal ware along the front fenders with stone ships only one deep scratch is along the upper front passenger side fender this bronco is equipped with two spare tires and all 6 orginal matching rims with protctive covers on the two spare tires, those tires are orginal firestone with light ware on them all the rims are 15x7 tires on truck have plenty of tead on them. All glass is orginal except the front windshild has been replaced. lights grille mirrors are in awesome shape bumpers front and rear shine nice for the age. Drivetrain is all stock orginal exhaust orginal exhaust components this bronco is a true survivor motor drives and starts right up no issues transmission shifts perftecty 4x4 engages perfecty has warn manual hubs also included are the stock automatic locking 4x4 hubs previous owner has switched them out. only aftermarket items are a dash mat not pictured and the air deflector in the front. solid classic southwest truck. |

Ward's Automotive Ten Best Engines of 2014 dominated by diesels, turbos
Thu, 12 Dec 2013With the Car and Driver Ten Best decided, the North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists announced and Cadillac, Ram and Subaru chalking up wins with Motor Trend, it's fair to say that the automotive awards season is in full swing. The next set of trophies to be handed out will be from Ward's Automotive, which has announced the winners of its 2014 10 Best Engines.
The latest contest was marked by the widespread emergence of diesel power and the continued success of turbocharged engines. There was even an electric motor on this year's list. In fact, only three of the ten winners were naturally aspirated and only two winners returned from last year.
"We weren't looking to throw the bums out, as they might say about an election. We were just really impressed with the flood of new powertrains," said Ward's Automotive Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter. Those new powertrains include the 83-kilowatt electric motor from the Fiat 500e, the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Ford Fiesta and the 2.0-liter turbodiesel from the Chevrolet Cruze.
2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost
Fri, 16 May 2014Earlier this week, Ford invited us to Charlotte, NC, to ride in an all-new 2015 Mustang fitted with its turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. It's the first forced-induction, four-cylinder ponycar for the Blue Oval since the sun set on the 1986 Mustang SVO. We jumped at the opportunity, as only a handful of people have ever been in the passenger seat of this new car, and most automotive media won't get as close as we did until this fall.
As we revealed in our Deep Dive, Ford will slot this new turbocharged four as premium powerplant between its naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V6 and the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. At last mention, the automaker said the direct-injected, all-aluminum engine will develop 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, returning the best fuel economy of the three powerplants in the process. History buffs will note that those figures are appreciably stouter than the 200 horses and 240 lb-ft that the '86 SVO realized out of the same displacement, and the latter's figures were hugely impressive at the time. On paper, the new EcoBoost four looks to be a good fit for most owners who want to balance performance with efficiency - we were eager to see how it felt from the passenger seat.

There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."
