HAVE YOU BEEN ON THE SEARCH FOR AN AWESOME EARLY BRONCO CLASSIC THAT STANDS OUT FROM THE REST? DO YOU WANT ONE THAT IS TURN KEY, READY TO DRIVE AND ENJOY? WOULD YOU PREFER ONE THAT HAS LIVED A RUST-FREE LIFE, HAS RECEIVED A HIGH QUALITY RESTORATION, AND WILL BE A TRUE INVESTMENT? THIS AMAZING GREEN METALLIC '74 HALF CAB IS ONE YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT ON... VERY NICE RESTORATION ON A SOUTHERN RAISED BRONCO! This beautiful 1974 Ford Bronco was originally delivered to the Atlanta , GA District Sales Office and spent its entire life in the great climate of the Southeast. We acquired this awesome Early Bronco Classic from a gentleman in Mississippi who had owned and restored over 100 Broncos in his life. He had located this one in Alabama where it was believed to have spent it's entire life until then. I was able to contact the previous owner in Alabama to verify the history and work that had been done over the years. He indicated that the Bronco was bought new at a dealer in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and the original owner kept it until 1994 when it was sold to a guy who was in the Military who eventually sold it to a friend of his. He had known this Bronco since it was new and eventually the opportunity to buy it came along and he jumped at it. He had owned quite a few Broncos over the years but said that this one was perhaps the nicest in terms of originality and how rust free it was. The motor and transmission were rebuilt before him and ran fantastic. He had driven this Bronco on several 3 hours drives with no issues. As some of you may know you could not get a Half Cab in 1974. This Bronco originally came with a full hard top but he loved the half cab styling so he located an original bulkhead and properly converted it to a Half Cab. I love the aggressive look of a Half Cab and the top is easily removed to give you a full convertible to enjoy on sunny day drives, cruises to the beach or through the mountains, or to the local car show or cruise in. He spent quite a bit of money on upgraded suspension and lift kit, added Power Steering and Power front disc brakes, new wheels and tires, and much more. He got to the point where the Bronco was a blast to drive and enjoy but it was due for a new paint job. Unfortunately other priorities forced him to sell it and off it went to the next Bronco enthusiast in Mississippi who had it professionally painted in a gorgeous Medium Green Metallic PPG Base Coat/ Clear Coat. We then brought it back to Atlanta, GA and added a few more finishing touches and now it is ready for its next lucky owner. These Early Ford Broncos have become highly sought after and prices have soared over the past year. Rightfully so as they are truly a blast to drive and catch all the attention on the road and at the car shows. We have been fortunate enough to have been locating some really high quality Broncos and they have all sold quite quickly. We expect this to be the case again with this awesome Half Cab so get comfortable and take a good look at this one. I will do my best to provide enough large images, an honest description and a video of it running to help you decide if this 4WD Classic is the one for you! As mentioned earlier the body is extremely original and in fantastic condition. Professionally painted about 6 months ago in a beautiful Medium Green Metallic. We had it wet sanded and buffed and the paint truly sparkles in the sun. Body panels all appear to be original and the body is very straight with great gaps. The last owner in Alabama did the conversion to a Half Cab and it was done right with original bulkhead components. In addition he also added Stainless Door hinges which allow the doors to be easily removed if you want that open air feel. New Fender Flares were added at the time of paint and really agent the Green Metallic body nicely. We added an Explorer style Hood Stripe decal that also accents the body nicely. Bumpers look brand new and the weatherstripping was also replaced at the time it was repainted. Very minor pitting on the original door handles but otherwise all of the trim looks awesome. There may be a few very minor chips in the paint but the body is in fantastic condition and is ready to roll in to any of your local car shows. Windows roll up and down nicely and all glass is in great condition and has been tinted. The white Half Cab top is also in great condition. This Bronco truly looks as good in person as it does in the pictures that follow. Here is a walk around tour of the body: Accenting the glistening Green Metallic Exterior is a beautiful Parchment white interior. Original front seats were recently re-upholstered in the original style seat covers and we also added a brand new carpet kit in the cab area. New front seat belts. A custom center console was painted and dyed to match the interior. The entire truck had been professionally lined with a reflex liner. The previous owner in Alabama indicated that the floor pans all looked to be completely original and rock solid before he had the liner done. As you will see in the pics below the liner in the bed of the Bronco looks great and will be very durable. The original bolt holes for the original rear seat are still in place in case the next owner decides he would like to add a rear seat. We repainted the original dash in the correct Wimbledon white color. As you will see there is currently no radio but the dash was not cut and a plate was attached with 3M adhesive to cover the opening. It is ready for you to add your Stereo system if desired. A new dash pad was installed and all of the gauges and lights appear to be functioning correctly. The original wiper motor cover and sun visors have been installed while the Half Cab top is on. Original Vin Data plate is still attached to the original glovebox door. The interior looks fantastic and is also ready for the shows....take a look: This "Green Machine" drives as good as it looks and the entire drivetrain has been rebuilt according to previous owners. The original 302 V8 and C-4 Automatic transmission were completely rebuilt about 5 years ago from what we were told. It is believed that there is about 15,000 miles on the newly rebuilt drive train and I can tell you that this Bronco drives beautifully and is very strong. Based on my conversation with the previous owner in Alabama, he indicated that he had done quite a few upgrades when he acquired the Bronco. This included a new drive shaft from Toms Broncos, new Saginaw Power Steering unit, new power front disc brakes, completely new 3 1/2 inch lift kit from James Duff including new leaf springs, new coil springs, new polyurethane bushings, new axles and ring gear and pinion with factory 3:50 gears front and rear, etc...He basically did everything possible to upgrade the drivability of this Bronco and the result is an easy to drive, handle and stop rig that is ready to hit the streets or even go off road if you desire. He drove the Bronco quite a bit and took several 3 hour trips with no issues. This Bronco is very highway friendly and is a blast to drive. a New aluminum radiator was also added and there are no overheating issues. Great stance thanks to the 3 1/2" lift and practically brand new set of Mickey Thompson 15x10 Polished Aluminum wheels that are wrapped in a great set of BFG Mud Terrain 33x12.5x15 tires that ride great on all surfaces. The axially fuel tank was removed and an upgraded larger main fuel tank was installed. As you will see in the pics below the original floorpans are rock solid with no rust issues and the undercarriage has been nicely detailed. Great rumble from the upgraded exhaust as you will hear in the video that follows. There was a slight leak at the oil pan when we got the Bronco but we had the pan properly repaired and have not noticed any leaks. Electronic ignition fires this Bronco right up and it is ready to drive and enjoy. We also installed a set of hydraulic hood props to make opening and closing the hood much easier. Make sure you listen to the video to hear how great it sounds! HERE IS A SHORT VIDEO SO YOU CAN HEAR THIS GREEN BEAUTY START UP AND RUNNING: (CLICK THE ARROW TO START)

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS
Sat, Jan 21 2023Ford's now-defunct Mercury Division first began using the Marquis name in 1967, on a sporty full-size hardtop based on the Ford LTD, then began offering the Grand Marquis beginning in the 1979 model year. These big, boxy luxury sedans were replaced by big, curvy luxury sedans (on the same platform) starting with the 1992 model year, so today's Junkyard Gem is one of the very last squared-off Grand Marquises ever built. The 1991 Grand Marquis (or "Grandma Keith," as many refer to it today) looks nearly identical to its 1979 predecessor at a glance, just as the 2011 model doesn't differ much from the 1992 model. Ford saw no reason to follow short-lived fashion trends with its simple, sturdy rear-wheel-drive sedan. Only two Grand Marquis trim levels were available for 1991: the base GS and the (somewhat) upscale LS. The former listed at $18,741 and the latter at $19,241, which comes to about $41,494 and $42,601, respectively, in inflated 2022 dollars). This interior would have seemed comfortingly familiar to a 1968 (or even 1958) Mercury owner time-traveling to 1991. This is the optional "full grain leather seating surface," which cost an extra $489 (about $1,083 today). Dig those opera lights! Air conditioning was standard equipment in the 1991 Grand Marquis and its wagon counterpart, the Colony Park. The engine is the good old pushrod 5.0-liter Windsor V8, which would be replaced by a far more modern 4.6-liter SOHC mill in the '92 Grand Marquis. This engine was rated at 180 horsepower. A four-speed automatic was the only transmission available. The early 1990s ended up being the last gasp for padded vinyl roofs being considered mainstream equipment on new Detroit cars; this one was called the "Formal Coach" roof and cost an additional 725 bucks ($1,605 now). Such roofs were still available on a few cars later in the decade, but their time had passed. Why would such a clean Grandma Keith end up in a place like this? That's easy: it got T-boned directly into the right front wheel, mangling the body and bending up the suspension. This damage might have been worth fixing when the car was five years old, but it's a write-off when it happens to a 31-year-old Ford Panther. 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis Commercial - Savings Ad The granddaddy of them all, and on sale in South Texas! Auto investor Kirk Kerkorian dead at 98
Wed, Jun 17 2015Kirk Kerkorian, among the most talked-about investors in the American auto industry in recent memory, died at the age of 98 in Los Angeles on Monday, June 15. The billionaire ran the investment company Tracinda Corp. and was the largest shareholder in MGM Resorts International. Kerkorian attempted to use his power as a well-financed investor to push the auto industry in some fascinating ways. In 2006, he used his nearly 10-percent stake in General Motors to push a merger with the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The deal made it as far as discussions, but eventually fell through. Kerkorian also attempted to purchase Chrysler - twice. According to Automotive News, the first effort came in 1995 with a $22.8-billion offer for the automaker, and soon after it failed the company merged with Daimler. Then in 2007, Kerkorian was back with a bid for $4.5 billion, but things eventually fell to Cerberus. The billionaire finished the trifecta by buying up $1 billion in Ford stock in 2008 to make Kerkorian the single largest investor in the company. However, the situation didn't last long, and by the end of that year, he had unloaded the shares. According to Automotive News, Kerkorian was ranked by Forbes as the world's 41st richest man in 2008 with a net worth of $16 billion. Ford Transit Skyliner Concept is a Gulfstream for the road
Sat, 12 Apr 2014If you are afraid to fly or just want to arrive at your ultimate destination in absolute comfort, then the Ford Transit Skyliner concept might be the perfect vehicle for you. Built by Galpin Auto Sports and based on a 2015 Transit, the van is basically a private jet on wheels. It even has a touch of Transformers about it with the ability to switch between four modes by pressing a button in a smartphone app.
Based on the long wheelbase, high-roof model with 487 cubic feet of cargo space and 6 feet, 9.5 inches of interior height, the Skyliner has movable captains chairs that shift around among four modes. In theater mode, the seats turn and recline to face a 52-inch retractable movie screen with 7.2 surround sound. For business, a motorized table unfolds, and the chairs gather around it. There is a mode for tailgating where the door opens four-feet wide, and, when traveling, passengers can recline back with footrests that extend for maximum comfort.
To make the ride even plusher, there is a satellite and media server to meet your entertainment needs, and there is even a built-in bar in the back. If this Ford had a bathroom, you could live in it. Of course, you would need to hire a driver to enjoy all the amenities in the back.
