For sale is my 1996 full size Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Edition. I have owned this truck for 11 years, and have not really driven it much in the last 2 years. I still start it and move it about once a month. It's still a decent old truck that is becoming harder to find.
The Bad: Typical Ford rust over both rear wheel wells, and minor rust on the tailgate. ABS light is on Needs rear tires Passenger side power window does not work (have replacement motor) Slight lifter tick when warm Manual transfer case lever a bit sticky - but will go I to 4WD HI I'm sure I've left something out - after all, it is 18 years old! The Good: New rear brakes/hardware/drums turned New front brakes/rotors turned New plugs/wires/cap/rotor New timing chain/gears New water pump New radiator New radiator hoses New heater hoses Fresh oil & filter A/C blows cold Front tires are nearly new - OE Goodyear Wrangler RT/S Alpine AM/FM/CD player properly installed in dash Probably leaving something out here as well I have some extra parts to go with it, including D/S & P/S power window motors, tail lights, ABS computer, P/S door panel, rear cargo net, and a box of small misc. parts. Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]
Wed, 23 Oct 2013In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.

Ford recalling 65k Fusions from 2014 and 2015 because key can be removed
Tue, 18 Nov 2014Ford is recalling an estimated 64,869 examples of the 2014-2015 Fusion, Fusion Energi and Fusion Hybrid in North America because the key can be removed when the vehicle isn't in Park under certain conditions. Specifically, the campaign covers 56,479 units in the US, 6,048 in Canada and 2,342 in Mexico, according to the automaker's tally on November 11.
Ford says a programming problem in the instrument cluster means that the key can be removed 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, even if the transmission is not in Park. The situation where this could happen seems quite limited, and the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. However, the fault puts the vehicle out of compliance with federal regulations covering theft protection and rollaways, and must be repaired.
The fix is easy: Ford will reprogram the instrument cluster at no cost to consumers. According to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker in an email to Autoblog, "We will notify customers the week of January 5th." Scroll down to read Ford's announcement.
