This is a rare, one owner 1996 Ford Bronco 4X4 that was driven by the City Fire Department Chief and investigator since new. It has never been wrecked or damaged and has never been operated off road. It is a non smoker, extremely well maintained vehicle. It was garaged inside the fire station. The Bronco has the dash push button 4x4, auto hubs, large 5.8L (351), Fuel Injected engine, Automatic Transmission, power windows and seats, cloth, carpet, tilt, A/C, factory chrome wheels with new Firestone tires, good brakes, nice chrome front and rear. The bronco has a factory deleted rear spare tire swing arm. Looks much better without it! In fact, it has no spare at all! The Bronco just turned over 100,000 miles. Its un altered, un molested and really nice. It was repainted in recent years to match the exact red of their fire trucks. You probably won't see another one with this color red and matching removable top and body. The paint looks great with just a few scratches. It is almost spotless under the hood. The drivers seat is not torn but has some wear about 4 inches long in the cloth. The arm rest is also folded down and needs to be removed and re adjusted. It has new front and rear Husky Floor Mats. Its one of the nicest original bronco's you will find. Starts right up, no smoke, idles perfectly and shifts great. We have a clear title. Payment in full within 3 days by Cash or Certified funds. We will also accept bank wire transfer to our auction company account. I have the Bronco in my storage building and can hold it up to a couple of months if you need it shipped. Shipping at buyers expense but I will assist anyway I can. For those northern guys... This bronco has been in Birmingham Alabama its whole life and has absolutely No Rust anywhere. Never off road! Thanks for looking and good luck! |

Ford reveals new rapid prototyping and low-volume production techniques [w/video]
Mon, 08 Jul 2013It's called "F3T," and that stands for Ford Free-form Fabrication Technology. The process that The Blue Oval has developed means being able to sidestep the weeks-long process of tool-and-die making when engineers want to construct a new part, allowing them to fabricate a three-dimensional part from a two-dimensional sheet of metal in just hours.
While F3T is being developed it is limited to "low-volume prototyping or even low-volume niche vehicles," but the next step is to evaluate it for use in Ford's global manufacturing facilities. You can find out more about it in the video and the press release below.
Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout
Mon, 03 Nov 2014Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.
