Selling my 1993 Eddie Bauer Ford Bronco. Owned it three years, and love it, however, I need to get something with better mpg. Don't let the 242k miles fool you, this engine is still plenty strong and does not smoke at all. It does have a small oil leak on passenger's side of engine. Have replaced battery, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor, along with an oil and filter change about 6 months ago. Air filter was changed then also. Replaced all three power window motors. Installed a five panel rear view mirror, and upgraded headlight housings. Tires still have 80% of the tread on them, spare tire is a used one from a local junkyard. May want to replace that one. Replaced cracked and torn front leather bucket seats with cloth ones from an F150. Rear seat is still leather. Front hubs replaced with Warn manual locking hubs. 4x4 system works great. Been to Pismo Beach 3 times, and Cleghorn, and Ballinger once each. Starter and both solenoids replaced six months ago also. Have made numerous trips to So Cal with no problems. It has a factory towing package, which includes a transmission cooler, and the hitch ball mounted on the bumper. It has an old 6 plug trailer connector, but I will include the adapter to tow a U-Haul trailer. Kenwood speakers replaced six months ago, and a Viper alarm.  Headliner is in perfect condition, and carpet has no rips, but does have some stains. Can remove decals on rear side windows before new owner takes possession. Have title in my name in hand, and just registered vehicle til April of 2015. Also, can deliver vehicle within a 500 mile radius of Fresno for the cost of gas (at present prices, figure a dollar a mile) as I have an F350 and car trailer. Am still using vehicle as a daily driver so mileage will keep going up until sold. Just installed fuel pressure regulator, and air temp sensor. Rear window will go up and down with no problems, however, only with the dash mounted switch, it will not work with the key switch in the rear door. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions about the vehicle.

2015 Ford Mustang spied on video for the first time

Thu, 20 Jun 2013

Not many cars will continue to hold our rapt attention quite like the upcoming redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang, codenamed S550 internally. Earlier this month, we brought you the first spy photos of a next-gen Mustang prototype out testing, and even though expertly placed cladding concealed the pony car's new shape, we could tell that underneath was hiding an altogether new form inspired by the Evos Concept from 2011.
Today we give you some video of what looks to be the same Mustang prototype, which you can watch below, and while the budding director behind the camera wasn't able to capture much in the way of the engine's audio signature, we can see the car in motion for the first time and compare its relative size and shape to the S197 Mustang GT that's on its tail.

Chevy Silverado frame twist test a marketing victory versus Ford

Thu, 16 Oct 2014

The pickup market is so competitive that all three major American makers are constantly trying to find a way to prove their product is the best. The new 2015 Ford F-150 is grabbing headlines at the moment by winning awards and posting segment best numbers. But in a new video, Chevrolet is taking aim squarely at the 2015 F-250 Super Duty in a battle of heavy-duty truck supremacy against the 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD... well, in a single metric anyway.
The big numbers from pickups often come down to payload, towing rating and fuel economy, but for this test, Chevy and Howie Long are challenging the torsional rigidity of the trucks' frames, specifically which one flexes less. Long plays the everyman here having the Chevy engineer explain what's going on in the tests. Unsurprisingly for a video on Chevy's official YouTube page, the 2500HD wins out by a good margin. The company also reports that similar results as shown here have been certified in third-party testing.
Check out the video to see the full test. While this might seem like a marketing win for Chevy, Ford isn't immune to it, either. In 2009, the Blue Oval uploaded a similar video comparing the flex under 225 pounds of weight from the bare frames of the F-150, Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram (as it was still called at the time) and the Toyota Tundra. The results fell in the Blue Oval's favor, as you can see here.

Spy shooter claims proof of upcoming aluminum Ford F-Series Super Duty

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

Ford has already confirmed that the 2015 F-150 (pictured above) was just the beginning for its more extensive use of aluminum. CEO Alan Mulally said it himself during the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. We've even already seen the future Raptor testing with an aluminum body. But a recent discovery from an intrepid spy photographer might indicate that the lightweight metal is coming to the Blue Oval's Super Duty pickups in their upcoming generation, as well.
According to Automotive News, a spy shooter in Colorado spotted a prototype for the next-gen F-350 testing. He happened to have a magnet on hand and got close enough to check the truck out. When he held it up to the metal in the bed, it didn't stick, which signaled to him a switch from steel to aluminum.
Obviously, this claim raises some questions. Given that it was a test vehicle, one possibility is that the Blue Oval is just evaluating the feasibility of switching to aluminum for the Super Duty trucks, not necessarily committed to it yet. Ford has been testing it quite exhaustively, after all. In fact, much of the rest of the truck in question was covered in camouflage, so it's possible that the magnet failed to work along the rest of the body not because it was aluminum, but because it wasn't powerful enough to get through the disguising material. Thus, the lightweight metal's use could be far less substantial than on the new F-150. Still, it was a clever idea for the cameraman to check things out and might have given us the first hint about brand's next heavy-duty models.
