Good running truck, would make a great work truck, play truck, or toy hauler. I bought the truck a few months ago thinking it would work for my business but I need a regular bed truck not an SUV. Temp never goes above 1/4, it starts up when you want it to, and runs like a champ. The 3 speed C6 transmission is not a highway cruiser, but it's built like a tank.

I'm not going to sugarcoat or hide what the truck needs. The a/c doesn't "need a recharge" it needs to be fixed. The check engine light bulb isn't "blown" it's on, and if you don't like the light on you can replace the part it needs or take the bulb out yourself. This is a 25 year old truck that is in overall good condition for it's age. It doesn't need anything to be a daily driver, it's the creature comforts that need to be addressed.

*what it needs*

Exhaust work, it's not crazy loud but there's some exhaust leaks somewhere, they get quieter when the truck is warmed up

A/C Condenser (a/c works fine if the condenser is replaced, rock hit it on the highway)

Possibly Heater core (was bypassed when I bought the truck, I'm sure someone didn't bypass it for fun)

Clock Spring for the steering wheel (Horn and cruise don't work because of this)

Check Engine Light is on code 67 (mechanic told me it was the neutral safety switch which doesn't affect drive-ability, the light just stays on)

Dome light doesn't come on, there's no bulb in it but I don't think there's power to it either

Oil Pressure gauge is broken, the red "engine" oil pressure light still works, the gauge just doesn't.

Rust spots repaired on roof - I sprayed the spots with rust inhibitor to keep it from worsening but it needs to be repaired. There is also one spot on the passenger side door jamb. This truck has lived in Florida for a while and the rust on the roof shows that she's been to the beaches some. The undercarriage does not have any rust that is noticeable, just mud :)

Turn signal blinks fine, but doesn't stay when you use to the right, works fine left.

FBI Seizes Computers, Listening Devices From Ford Headquarters

Fri, Jul 25 2014

FBI agents searched Ford Motor Company's headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, this month as part of an investigation into possible corporate espionage. Eight devices, along with documents, computers and financial records, were among the items seized by federal agents on July 11, according to documents obtained by The Detroit News. The FBI searched Leach's home on June 20 and seized more than two dozen items in that search, Reuters reported. Former engineer Sharon Leach, a 17-year Ford veteran of company, was fired last month, according to The News, which first reported the story. She admitted to placing recording devices under conference tables before meetings. She told Ford security she used the recordings to assist in her meeting notes. She couldn't remove the devices after meetings without drawing attention to herself, leaving the devices to record other meetings. Leach has not been charged for any wrongdoing. Former federal prosecutor and Wayne State University law professor Peter Henning told The News that using a search warrant, rather than a subpoena, shows the FBI suspects more employees could be implicated. "If it's an economic espionage case or trade-secrets case, that rarely involves one individual," Henning told The Detroit News. "So the concern is if you send a subpoena and ask for recording devices, those things can be erased." Leach, Ford and the FBI declined to comment on the investigation. Detroit 3 and UAW could create healthcare pool

Thu, Sep 3 2015

Healthcare costs continue to multiply in the US with no clear end in sight, but the United Auto Workers and the Big Three are negotiating a way to rapid growth under control. As part of the latest contract talks, the union has an idea to create a healthcare pool across all of its members at Ford, General Motors, and FCA US. If accepted, the company-wide integration would spread out the expenses and create a massive member base for bargaining with insurance companies. Both Ford and GM are at least considering the proposal, according to The Detroit News, and FCA US might be on board, as well. The idea is the work of current UAW president Dennis Williams and is based on the similar pool for the Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association for retirees. "I've walked through this several ways; I just don't have any other answer," Williams said to The Detroit News. "I do believe this will work. It's worked with the VEBA." Williams was elected UAW president last year and won by an overwhelming margin. He vowed no more concessions to automakers. In addition to healthcare, the two-tier wage system is another major talking point in the contract negotiation because it gives fewer benefits to entry-level workers. Higher wages are also a request. Healthcare costs are a massive expense for automakers and are expected to reach over $2 billion this year, according to The Detroit News. The payments are up nearly 50 percent or more in just the last four years.

Ford Focus Electric and ST recalled over lighting issue

Mon, 12 Aug 2013

Ford is recalling 6,308 units of the 2012 and 2013 Focus Electric and 2013 Focus ST that were fitted with HID headlights because a "wiring incompatibility" could keep the front side marker lights from working. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall should begin in the middle of this month, after which owners can take their cars to dealers to have the wiring assembly repaired free of charge.
You can find more information in the NHTSA bulletin posted below.
