I am selling my 1979 Ford Bronco RangerXLT with intercooled 5.9l Cummins Turbo Diesel out of a 1993 D250. This truck is a beast and very fun to drive, The truck was originally equipped with a 351m which was removed and installed the Cummins. The diesel has about 128,000 miles on it which is nothing, these engines go 500,000 miles very easily, the turbo functions flawlessly as well as the engine it is very strong running and starts up within a split second. The transmission is a heavy duty c6/New Process 205 transfer case combo with Ford 9" differential. Adapter plate and custom flywheel, starter Purchased From destroked.com for 1800 dollars. If you are planning on doing this conversion yourself let me give you a rundown on what it will take. FIrst off you will need to find a clean 79 Bronco which is going to cost you upwards of 4,000$ for a Decent one then you will need to find a Cummins. The first gen was my choice due to the simplicity of the wiring(no computer involved) so find one from 89-93(92 and 93 being the intercooled version, which mine is) then you are looking at a minimum of 2,000 dollars for the engine(look at the prices on ebay for a used one) then shipping costs arent cheap. Once you have your engine you will need to put all new seals as well as fix the killer dowel pin which is a problem on the 12valves that needs to be adressed before it ruins your engine(if you dont know what it is google it.) You WIll then have to remove all the front grill radiator and everything to be able to slide the engine and tranny in. All the little engineering of motor mounts wiring getting everything put together is very time consuming and all the little parts here and there get very pricy. You need to have an exhaust made. You are looking at a big project which took me almost two months to complete. To have this done for you it will end up costing you over 15,000 dollars. This one is already done and ready to go. I am auctioning it of but I do have a reserve price so if the bidding doesnt get up high enough I will not sell myself short because I dont have to sell it and enjoy driving it. Also this Bronco has the Removable top with sliding side windows on the shell, New Tires and New American Racing rims and enigne has factory block heater so if you live in a really cold area you can plug it in overnight and it will be nice and toasty for you. Happy Bidding

Introducing the 1965 Ford Mustang
Sat, 24 Aug 2013Put on your space suits and diving bell helmets, for it's time to step into a time capsule. The 50th anniversary of a historic model, like, say, the Porsche 911 this year, is certain to bring flights of nostalgia. This historical trip with the 1965 Mustang, though - preliminary hype for next year's anniversary, we know - is a swell museum exhibit for anyone who enjoys bygone days of the automobile.
Lee Iaccoca gave a speech to motoring journalists on April 1, 1964 at the New York World's Fair to introduce a sporty car for younger drivers. His opening line: "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to one of the proudest moments of our lives." The company was so excited by what it had made that the Mustang was Ford's first "International Press Introduction," being introduced to some 2,000 journos around the world on the same day in the US and 11 European cities. Even through its difficult points, no one at the time could have known how well the Mustang would acquit that pride.
After the intro, the press drove Mustangs 750 miles from New York to Dearborn, MI, reading press kits that touted features like the "vertical, three-sectional taillights/turn signals," "170" six-cylinder engine with 101 horsepower and the available Cruise-O-Matic transmission.
Mysterious small Ford spied in Germany
Sat, 29 Jun 2013Our spy photographers have just popped off a few shots of something curious. This little runabout was spotted in Germany out testing with a current-generation Ford Fiesta. We're fairly confident the machine is a Ford, but exactly which Ford model is up for debate. The hatchback could be the next-generation Ka, but we've also heard that the Blue Oval supermini might not get a replacement. Our shooter says the five-door is a bit smaller than the current Fiesta, though there is a chance that this rig is just an engineering mule for drivetrain development. Then again, it could be a model built specifically for the South African market or China, or not a Ford at all.
Whatever it is and wherever it's headed, you can check out in the gallery for a closer look before heading into Comments to weigh in with your best guess.
Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007
Sat, 21 Sep 2013Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.
