I have up for sale a 1976 Bronco. The Bronco has 52xxx miles and spent most of its life in California until 2003 when it came to Pennsylvania. This actual Bronco was used in the movie "Warrior" that was filmed in Pittsburgh!  The Bronco has a 302 v8 with a 4 speed conversion with the NP 235 transmission and it is 4 wheel drive. It also has power steering and power disc brakes. Mechanically the Bronco is stock with the exception of a set of headers but it still runs thru the stock catylatic converter and single exhaust and it still has the original air pump hooked up and running. I have  replaced the rear fuel tank(removed the front one), replaced master cylinder, front lock out hubs, steering stabilizer, rear wheel bearings, had the carb professionally rebuilt, tuned up the engine, newer muffler and tail pipe, replaced the rotors, drums, brakes and hardware on both the front and rear brakes. The wheels have less than 500 miles on them and the tires are in pretty good condition. The motor also has the GM HEI conversion on the ignition system. The Bronco also has been rewired. The truck runs and drives good. It always starts right up with no smoke.   The body on the truck is rough. I have listed photos showing some of the bad.  The floors are shown and they are in pretty good shape as are the front door post also. The passenger side quarter and drivers side front fender and grill are in bad condition and there is other rust in different spots also.  I do have a brand new quarter, rear door post, and taillight corner for the passenger side. I also have a used grill and rear chrome bumper that are in good condition and are included. This Bronco mechanically is in good condition and is ready to drive and with the parts I have collected for the body and a few more this could be a really nice Bronco. This Bronco is an has excellent potential but is far from a show truck so remember this while bidding.  These are also getting very hard to find in the northeast. Please ask any questions before bdding.  Good luck and Thanks!!!

Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.

All the details on Plug In 2014 electric vehicle conference you could ever want

Wed, Aug 6 2014

One of the best parts of the Plug In 2014 Conference in San Jose, CA last week was getting to listen in on thoughts about the state of the plug-in vehicle industry from people who have been involved with it for ages. They bristle when you call them the "Old Guard" (learned that one the hard way), but these are the people who have been through a number of ups and downs with plug-in vehicles, so they've got what we call perspective. Their knowledge was on full display in the three plenary sessions, which the Plug In Conference organizers have given us permission to share with you. Each is at least 90 minutes long, so make sure to set some time aside to enjoy the discussions after you download them (any help with making them streamable would be appreciated). Follow us below to see what we've got to offer. Opening Plenary (audio link). "The Road Ahead – Delivering on a Vision for Sustainable Transportation." Moderated by Mark Duvall (director of energy utilization at EPRI, the Electric Power Research Institute, and a long-time EV advocate), this panel featured: Jack Broadbent, Executive Officer / APCO, Bay Area Air Quality Management District Pat Romano, President & Chief Executive Officer, ChargePoint, Inc. Aaron Johnson, Senior Director, Customer Programs, Pacific Gas and Electric Company Brendan Jones, Director, EV Sales Operations & Infrastructure Deployment, Nissan North America, Inc. David W. Cash, Commissioner, MassDEP Dan Sperling, Director, Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California, Davis Highlights: Educating drivers to "get over the gas station" is a key strategy, how Level 2 and DC Fast Charging are really "a new paradigm," that there have been well over 214,000 EVs sold in US as of July 2014 and where Nissan sees huge potential for more EV sales (Northeast US and medium-size cities like St. Louis and Pittsburgh). Wednesday Morning Plenary (audio link). "Getting to the Mass Market – A Discussion of Ideas for Widespread PEV Adoption." Moderated by John Gartner, research director for smart transportation at Navigant Research.

Ford posts decade-best $2.1B profit in Q1 2013

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

As predicted, Ford has reported that its first quarter of 2013 was a resounding success overall, with a pretax profit of $2.1 billion ($0.41 per share), and a net income of $1.6 billion ($0.40 per share). In fact, Ford made a pretax profit of some $2.4 billion in its home North American market, with that total number being pulled down by losses in South America and Europe. That gaudy North American profit is the strongest result by the automaker since 2000.
Ford's companywide profit for Q1 was down $147 million from one year ago, while the net income number marked an increase of $215 million year over year. Overall, this is Ford's 15th-consecutive profitable quarter.
The bad news from the European market was even worst in Q1 2013 than it was last year. Pretax losses of $462 million - on revenue of $6.7 billion - represented a year-over-year change of -$313 million. In South American, the company reported a loss of $218 million, down from a slim profit of $54 million in Q1 2012. The news was better for Ford Asia Pacific Africa, where a $6 million pretax profit in 2013 showed a year-over-year gain of some $101 million when compared to losses in 2012.
