1976 Early Ford Bronco on 2040-cars
Cottage Grove, Oregon, United States
As the title reads is one 1976 Early Ford Bronco. This is the one you want! It has the heavy duty Dana 44 disk brake front end, big bearing Ford 9" rear end, very healthy 302 CI engine with bg V8 Aluminum radiator, power steering, power brake, it has been converted to 3 speed on the floor but still has factory auto column with shifter. It has 33x10.50x15" BFG KM2's with about 75% tread mounted on really nice stone crusher Weld wheels. This thing runs and drives great. Still has factory heavy duty sway bar mounted on front axle for better drivability and it shows as it performs flawlessly. It has a 4" lift installed and looks great! Has new Toms Bronco rear gas tank and stock front tank along with a new rear driveline. Has factory front and rear seats on the interior and is fully carpeted to help with sound deadening. After market steering wheel and stereo. As seen in the pics it is cut front and rear on the fenders. It is mostly green with the Factory removable hard top and fender flair's painted silver. It needs paint as the clear coat is pealing and the silver was put on pretty thin and has some spots where a very light surface rust is showing. Overall the BRONCO has very little rust! It looks very good and is super straight. I just ran out of effort and funds to finish. I truly believe that with a nice 4-5k paint job this is a 25k Bronco!

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri
Mon, Sep 19 2016Ford has gotten a lot of use out of the Capri name in the United States. First, there was the Lincoln Capri in the 1950s, followed by the Ford Capri Mk1 (which was sold by Mercury dealers in the USA but never actually badged as a Mercury). Then came the 1979-1986 Mercury Capri, built on the very successful Fox Platform and essentially a clone of the Mustang. Finally, in 1991, the Australian Ford Capri came to the United States. Here is an example of this rare car that I spotted in a Northern California self-service yard not long ago. Mechanically speaking, the 1991-1994 Capri was a Mazda 323 under the skin, complete with a member of the same B-series engine family that went into such cars as the Miata and Ford Escort. So, for a few years in the early 1990s, car shoppers who wanted a sporty Mazda convertible could choose between a Miata and a Capri. The Capri had front-wheel-drive, but could be had with factory turbocharging. These cars were reliable and fun, but had a tough time competing with the Miata in the showroom battles. You'll see the occasional example now and then, but most of the 1991-1994 Capris have met the same fate that awaits this one. Related Video:
Top Gear pits Hennessey VelociRaptor vs. Range Rover Sport SVR
Fri, Jun 5 2015As a television series, Top Gear is in limbo with an intent to return, but no hosts yet. However, it's magazine and website continue to bring us clips like this one. While the video might lack the show's charismatic hosts, this is an opportunity to see a drag race between a Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR with 550 horsepower and a Hennessey VelociRaptor with 623 hp. The duel between these two supercharged V8s definitely sounds great. Both rugged models start at the line growling angrily at each other like dogs ready for a fight. You have to watch the clip to see whether the more powerful VelociRaptor feeds on the SVR, though.
