HERE WE GO WITH YET ANOTHER GREAT LITTLE 1976 BRONK. WE DID A YOU TUBE MOVIE TITLED  76 BRONCO EM2"BIG BLUE" THIS ONE WAS OWNED BY THE SAME FASTIDIOUS OWNER FOR OVER 22 YEARS. GARAGE KEPT MOST OF IT'S EXISTENCE. THERE ARE NO RUSTED PANELS ON THIS BRONCO....PERIOD! WE HAVE NEVER SEEN A BODY THIS RUST FREE ON AN EARLY FORD BRONCO. EVEN THE INNER FENDERS ARE SPORTING ORIGINAL FACTORY PAINT!!. WOW. WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT BRONKS FOR THE LAST 12 YEARS AND HAVE YET TO FIND AN UNRESTORED BRONCO THIS RUST FREE AND MECHANICALLY SOUND. WE HAVE THE RECEIPTS FOR THE NEW LONG BLOCK THAT HAS AROUND 2800 MILES ON IT SINCE INSTALLATION. THE TRANS IS PERFECT AND THE TRANSFER CASE AND DIFFERENTIALS ARE NOISELESS IN 2 OR 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THE ENTIRE BRONCO OPERATES AS FORD INTENDED KEEPING IN MIND TECHNOLOGY FROM 1976. LOL
THE NEW MOTOR(LONG BLOCK) WAS FITTED WITH AN EDELBROCK 1406 4 BARREL, ALUMINUM DUAL PLANE HIGH RISE INTAKE, HEADERS, DURASPARK IGNITION, NEW WATER PUMP, BELTS, N HOSES. THE RADIATOR IS FLUSHED AND GOOD TO -50. THE BRONCO RUNS DOWN THE ROAD AT 180 DEGREES AND 65 LBS OIL PRESSURE. THERE ARE ZERO LEAKS ON THE SHOP FLOOR! THE BRAKES ARE NEW 11" REAR DRUM AND IN 1976 THEY USED THE BIG DANA 44 AND  FORD TRUCK DISC BRAKES. THE BRONK STOPS RIGHT NOW! THE STEERING IS THE QUICKER RATIO FORD IN 1976. BOTH FUEL TANKS WORK AS DESIGNED AND THE FUEL GAUGE WORKS. EVERYHTHING IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL ELECTRICALLY EXCEPT THE BACKUP LIGHTS. THEY DO NOT HAVE A SWITCH ON THE 4 SPEED AND THE LINKAGE IS INTEGRAL. THE REST IS EXCEPTIONAL. THIS BRONCO STARTS IMMEDIATELY, RUNS VERY WELL, HAS A NEW CENTERFORCE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND NEEDS NOTHING!! THE EXHAUST IS DUAL FLOWMASTER WITH TWIN CATS AND CROSSOVER. IT SOUNDS AMAZING. IF I WERE TO KEEP A BRONK FOR MYSELF THIS WOULD PROBABLY BE THE ONE.  AFTER I GET A FEW MORE MUSCLE CARS OUT OF THE CORRAL I WILL BREAK A BRONK FOR MYSELF. IT'S GONNA BE WILD FOLKS!

WE SET UP THE DRIVERS SEAT TO RECLINE WITH ADJUSTABLE LUMBAR AS WELL AS SLIDE ABOUT 10". THIS ALLOWS MOLLY AT 5' SOMETHING OR MY BUDDY AT 6'6" TO DRIVE THE BRONK COMFORTABLY WITH ALL SORTS OF LEG ROOM!!
THE PASSENGER SEAT ALSO SLIDES A LONG WAY FOR TALL OR SHORT PASSENGERS.
THE INTERIOR IS FULLY RHINO LINED OVER EXCEPTIONAL FACTORY RUST FREE FLOOR PANS. THE DASH PAD IS A 67 STRAIGHT PAD VS. A STOCK 76 THAT WOULD HAVE A PORTION JUTTING OUT INTO THE PASSENGER AREA. I LIKE THE STRAIGHT ONE BETTER.
THERE ARE A GAZILLION GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS BRONK AND A FEW BAD THINGS.WHEN WE TOOK THE ORIGINAL DOOR PANELS OFF, WE LUBRICATED THE GLASS REGULATORS AND WERE ASTONISHED THAT THE WINDOW HAD NEVER BEEN WORKED ON AND IS AS SMOOTH AS BUTTER. EVEN THE FACTORY SOUND PROOFING PAPER WAS INTACT. I CAN FIND NONE BETTER THAN THIS REGARDLESS IF THEY ARE RESTORED OR NOT.

FOR THE BAD:  BIG BLUE IS NOT A SHOW RIG YET, IT NEEDS A PAINT JOB AND SOME VERY MINOR BODY WORK ON THE PASSENGER REAR QUARTER NEAR THE MARKER LIGHT. IT DOES NOT NEED ANY RUST REPAIR ,PERIOD!!  THE PAINT IS 23 + YEARS OLD.IT ALSO HAS NO BACKUP LIGHT SWITCH. THE TIRES ARE NOT NEW BUT HAVE TONS OF TREAD YET AND SHOW NO CRACKING ON THE SIDEWALLS SO THEY ARE KEEPERS FOR NOW. THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL 3/8" ANTENNA HOLE ON THE TOP OF THE PASSENGER FENDER WHERE AN ANTENNA WAS AT ONE TIME AND A GROUP OF THREE PLUGGED HOLES(APPRENTICE PLUGS) AT THE REAR QUARTER EXTENSIONS WHERE A DIFFERENT RACK WAS INSTALLED YEARS AGO. ALL IN ALL A SUPER START ON A 40 K BRONK THAT I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO DRIVE TO NY AND BACK IN ANY SEASON....JUST ADD PAINT! A NEW  BLACK BEST TOP SOFT TOP CAN BE INSTALLED IN LIEU OF THE HARDTOP AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO BUYER AND WE KEEP THE HARD TOP.IF THE BUYER WANTS BOTH TOPS ADD $750.00..
DISCLAIMERS: THE ABOVE DESCRIBED BRONCO u15glb92384 IS BEING SOLD "AS IS " AND "WHERE IS" AND THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. I RECOMMEND A PERSONAL INSPECTION BY THE BUYER OR A TRUSTED MECHANIC PRIOR TO PURCHASE. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR INSPECTION . I HAVE TRIED MY BEST TO DESCRIBE WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A MOST EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF AN EARLY FORD BRONCO THAT IS MECHANICALLY AWESOME AND COSMETICALLY CHALLENGED. THIS IS A BRONK YOU CAN RIDE HARD AND PUT AWAY WET AND IT WILL STILL LICK YOUR FACE THE NEXT MORNING READY FOR ANOTHER DAY!

Ford Mustang GT350, GT350R order guide leaks online

Wed, Jan 14 2015

Nary a day after the end of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show media days, a bombshell has been dropped in the form of the order guides for the new Shelby GT350 and GT350R. A draft of the complete guide for both track weapons popped up in the forums of Mustang6G, offering the car's biggest fans the most detailed look yet at how the new models can be outfitted. Arguably the most notable news is that Ford lists both cars not as 2016 models, but as 2015s. Wearing the codes 900A and 920A for the GT350 and GT350R, respectively, Ford lists eight available colors, including standard Mustang shades, like Oxford White, Race Red and Competition Orange, as well as a pair of exclusive hues, in Avalanche Gray and Shadow Black. Notably, neither vehicle can be optioned in the gorgeous Liquid Blue of the GT350R show car. Stripe packages are aplenty on the hottest Mustangs, with black, white and blue stripes available on both models. The R cars, though, will be distinguishable by red accents on its optional stripe groups. The standard model will feature an ebony interior, while the high-performance 'Stang will have an ebony cabin with red accents. Aesthetics aside, this order guide gives us the deepest look yet at the available equipment on both models. Not surprisingly, the options list is quite small, with the standard GT350 offering just two packages, racing stripes and a black roof (which we bet will be mutually exclusive with the stripe jobs). The standard car's Technology Pack adds MagneRide, "heavy-duty" front springs, navigation with Sync 3, leather-wrapped, climate-controlled power seats, satellite radio, dual-zone climate control and selectable driving modes. The Track Pack, meanwhile, adds the same driver-selectable modes, MagneRide and the stiffened front springs as the Tech Pack, along with coolers for the engine oil, trans and diff and a strut-tower brace. These two packs are mutually exclusive. Of course, if you're in the market for the GT350R, your only option is the Electronics Pack, which basically adds features deleted by your high-performance trim, such as a stereo and climate control. On top of that, you'll get Sync 3 with navigation and satellite radio. Head over to the Mustang6G forums for a look at the entire order guide.

Ford Mustang was almost 'Imported from Detroit'

Wed, Oct 7 2015

The Ford Mustang achieved iconic status nearly the moment the sheet came off at the 1964 World's Fair. And if Henry Ford II wasn't getting divorced around that time, the pony car might have been called the Torino and been marketed as 'Imported from Detroit,' according to Automotive News. We'll explain. During research for the new book Once in a Great City: A Detroit Story, author David Maraniss found an interesting connection between Chrysler's (now FCA US) slogan and the Ford Mustang. Before the pony car even had a name, the Blue Oval's advertising agency had the idea to market it as a "brand new import ... from Detroit," according to Automotive News. The vehicle would be sold as "inspired by Italy's great road cars, but straight from Detroit." The name Torino was suggested, as well. However, the real world interfered in making the Mustang Detroit's first import. According to the author, Henry Ford II was getting a divorce, and his future wife was Italian. It was therefore thought to be a bad idea to sell the future pony car as being from Italy. Things clearly changed by the time the Torino hit the streets years later. Related Video:

J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.
