1975 BRONCO RANGER

When it comes to classic stock Bronco’s, its hard to find a better Bronco than this one to want to own.

This Bucking Bronco here is loaded for a old classic.  The truck sports a strong running 302 V8 and C-4 Automatic Transmission, Silky Smooth Power Steering and Powerful Power Brakes and duel fuel tanks.   The truck also is a Factory Ranger Package which adds chrome window trim, houndstooth seats and bottom body trim.

She also has cold Air Conditioning and uncut fenders.  I have spent over $5,000 recently on the truck, I’ve done new tires, brand new 2.5 suspension, including shocks, coils, and rear (11) pack left springs for a really nice overall ride.  The Bronco cruises nicely at 70mph with stock 3.50 gears.

The Bronco has a new “Grant” wood steering wheel, new two barrel carburetor, new rear fuel tank and sending unit.  The brakes are new and so are most the brake lines.  There’s a new fuel pump, and new NOS Headlight switch.

The dash is uncut and I just bought a NOS vintage Alpine Cassette player and mounted it.  It still needs to be wired up, but the hot leads are there already.

The Bronco has a fabulous hardtop and even the original cardboard headliner is in great shape as is the  sun visors and wiper motor cover.

All the lights, gauges, turn signals and wipers work.  The horn button on the steering wheel has an issue.  It was recently working.  The heat works really good and I just pulled and lubed the blower motor.

The truck is a really good driver.  You could fly in and drive it home.  I still had planned on recovering the front seats with the original houndstooth material  from (Bronco Hut) and a new carpet kit.  Cost about $750.

The body is in nice shape overall.  No rust bucket at all!  There is minor rust in the rocker panels, pin holes in the passenger floor, and under both doors and under battery inner fender area.  The hood has Bondo in the front drivers corner and the nose cap has a small dent under the drivers side from a past bumper impact.  The drivers outer door skin has a drag down mark from something falling in the past owners garage.

The winch and bumper I’m keeping and the roof basket.  The roof luggage rack will stay on the truck and a stock front bumper will be installed before delivery.

This Bronco was originally Hatterasse Green which still is present inside and is a rare color on the Bronco.  It would look amazing shot that color one day.

The Bronco is in San Antonio Texas.  The “Picker” Texas plates stay too.  If you have questions, please contact Houston Wills at 210-548-1310 between 9am-7pm CST with questions before bidding.

Cheers and good luck!

Lincoln Continental production likely to shift to Flat Rock

Fri, Jun 12 2015

Lincoln production may be returning to Michigan, according to a new report from Automotive News. While the brand's current big sedan, the MKS, is built alongside the Ford Taurus, Ford Explorer, and their Police Interceptor counterparts at the Blue Oval's Chicago, IL factory, the production version of the Continental won't be screwed together in the Windy City. According to AN, "industry sources" claim the Continental will join the Ford Mustang and Ford Fusion – on which the big Lincoln is loosely based – at the company's Flat Rock, MI factory. The move isn't just based on convenience, though. Ford is selling a lot of Explorers, and shifting Lincoln production away from Chicago Assembly frees up production capacity for the popular SUV. "Chicago Assembly Plant is vital to our global manufacturing footprint and will continue to manufacture the Ford Taurus, Ford Explorer and Police Interceptor vehicles even after we phase out production of the MKS in 2016," Ford told Automotive News. "We will continue to match production to demand." Looking at the numbers further backs up the argument against Lincoln production in Chicago. Last year alone, Ford built nearly 285,000 Explorers and over 73,000 Taurus sedans, compared to just 8,300 Lincolns. Finally, as AN tells it, Ford is almost telegraphing the Continental's arrival in Flat Rock. The facility has a four-week shut down scheduled from June 15 through July 13, which is twice as long as the typical summer vacation, while there's another two weeks off slated for September. Ford celebrates 1 millionth Mustang built at Flat Rock

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

Yesterday, the Ford Mustang turned 49 years old, and Ford didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the one millionth version of the Mustang rolling off the assembly line at the Flat Rock Assembly plant. Production of the Mustang at Flat Rock coincided with the fifth-generation design launching in 2004, and the one millionth car was the car shown above, a 2014 GT convertible painted in Ruby Red.
In total, Ford has sold more than 8.5 million Mustangs since the original car went on sale, but some of the key milestones over the car's nine years at Flat Rock include the Shelby GT-H, Bullitt, Boss 302 and, of course, the 662-horsepower Shelby GT500. Scroll down for a press release celebrating Flat Rock's milestone Mustang.

J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.
