1975 Special Edition Denver Bronco
  • VERY LIMITED PRODUCTION NUMBERS
  • Original Factory Paint
  • Hard to find UNCUT fenders
  • Original Paperwork w/ Marti Report
History:
This particular Bronco was factory prepped by Ford and painted the Stroppe Baja Edition colors with the expectations of being delivered and completed by Bill Stroppe's shop in Long Beach, CA. However, in late '74 Bill Stroppe abruptly ended his contract with Ford Motor Co which left the auto maker with a surplus of Poppy Red, Whimbeldon White, and Metallic Blue painted Broncos. Some were later painted all white with Ranger Edition stripes, some all orange with white Ranger Edition stripes, and some orange and white w/ white tops. As you can see, this one came with the true Baja colors minus the black hood. The remaining Broncos (somewhere between 50-100) were delivered to Golden Motors Ford in Denver, CO and then distributed throughout the state. Once at the dealerships, each Bronco was given custom touches, mostly consisting of rear cut fenders for larger tires or left completely stock in uncut form. This Bronco was initially sold through Arnold Bros Motor Co in Boulder, CO to the original owner as a blank "Stroppe intended" canvas. As eBay does not allow links, please research this particular model online and you'll see just how many are on the road today!

I am the 2nd owner of this vehicle and have had it for just over 8yrs. I bought it off of an older gentleman that lived in Aurora, CO and used the rig throughout the mountain passes of Denver and Boulder. It's seen many miles of back roads and the paint carries the patina and scars to prove it. I've spent the past several years getting it back to proper driving conditions with the following items added. Everything I did to the Bronco was done in a manor that would retain the history and rarity of the Bronco while still giving it a better than stock feel when on and off the road. All items below have roughly 1,200 miles on them since being installed.

Specs:
  • 302 V8: Previous owner had the engine rebuilt and now has 41k miles on it.
  • C-4 Automatic: Rebuilt by Leverrett Transmission in Reno, NV
  • Dana 44 w/ 4.10s: inner and outer bearings & seals
  • Ford 9" w/ 4.11s: inner and outer bearings & seals
  • Dana 20 transfer case w/ poly mounting bushings and all new seals and gaskets-shifts and locks up smoothly
  • 4500# GVW Package
  • PS w/ replacement steering pump (box needs new seals and will be included in the deal)
  • All new drum brakes, hardware, shoes, soft lines and hard lines
  • 2.5" Toms Bronco Parts Stage 4 suspension kit w/ 11pk rear springs, progressive coils, ProComp shocks, and all new poly c-bushings
  • BFG KM2s 31x10.5x15 plus full spare
  • New entire front steering linkage, adjustable track bar, and ball joints
  • Warn locking hubs, new hub assembly and lock rings, wheel studs and nuts
  • Rebuilt drivelines w/ new u-joints
  • Rebuilt Motorcraft 2100 carb performed by Competition Carburetion LLC (might need minor adjustments depending on where you live)
  • 2 1/4" exhaust w/ aftermarket mufflers (sound like MagnaFlows w/ an aggressive rumble)
  • Toms Bronco Parts stock rear gas tank, new sending units and lines (aux tank is clean and empty but not hooked up)
  • All new wires, plugs, belts, hoses, lines, etc.
  • Original parchment vinyl floor mat and headliner
  • New Rosette Parchment Upholstery
  • Original hubcaps included
  • Deluxe Marti Report
  • Original paperwork & receipts of current work
Now, for the part that matters most to those Bronco fanatics out there. This Bronco has rust. It spent all of but 8yrs in the CO environments and needs attention. I had plans to keep the original paint and fix only the immediate spots needing attention (floorpans, inner fenders, rear bed corner, and tailgate) but life has kept me out of the garage. This Bronco is the PERFECT candidate for either a driver, a partial restoration, or full body-off restoration. I want it to go to someone looking to preserve a piece of automotive history and take it back to its former glory. As for the other areas of concern, the power steering box needs new seals as there is some wheel play and slow leak (sale will include a rebuilt seal kit in the sale). The gauge cluster will need rebuilt as temperature and oil work but then drop as you drive. Bronco accelerates, tracks, drives, and brakes straight. I love this rig but just can't give it the time and attention it deserves. As you can see by the photos included, I'm trying to be as honest and forthcoming of the condition. This Bronco is priced at a fair value when compared to what you could make on it after completing the restoration. If you have any questions or would like to see more pictures please do not hesitate to contact me directly at brodymuell@gmail.com. I will try and respond as quickly as possible.

Bidding & Shipping:
PLEASE do not bid if you do not have the funds already secured. Once the price has reached the reserve there's no turning back. Whoever has the highest bid WILL have this Bronco in their garage!! This vehicle is listed locally and the auction reserves the right to end at any time prior to the reserve being met. The winning bidder has 1 day to secure the transaction with a $1,000 deposit and 7 days to complete the deal. This vehicle does not come with a warranty. As for shipping, I can assist with your designated shipper if required. If you're picking up, we'll have to arrange a time that works best for both parties.

If you have 0 feedback, please call me at (775) 742-3669 before bidding otherwise your bid will be removed.

Ford dinged by OSHA for asbestos at Buffalo plant

Sat, 20 Jul 2013

Ford has come under fire from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for violations regarding asbestos exposure in a company metal stamping plant in Buffalo, NY. OSHA has cited Ford for eight violations in total, according to an Automotive News report, and faces fines of up to $41,800. 537 workers are employed at the stamping facility.
The violations include a pipefitter at the facility being exposed to asbestos-containing material while working on a steam line, other workers exposed to the material without respiratory protection and work areas that were not designed to limited the number of workers in contact with asbestos. Further, areas in which asbestos was present were not properly restricted, and levels of asbestos in the air were not monitored.
According to an unnamed Ford spokesperson in the AN report, the company feels that the OSHA citation is erroneous saying, "We have fully cooperated with the local OSHA officials and we don't believe the citations are warranted." Ford also maintains that it will work with the authorities to resolve the issue.

Autoblog's June 2019 Editors' Picks

Wed, Jul 10 2019

Each year we review, test and rate hundreds of brand-new cars, trucks and SUVs. We rate these vehicles using the Autoblog score, giving a select few our Editors’ Pick. Here are the best cars we drove in June 2019. 2019 BMW 8 Series Everyone on the Autoblog staff loves a good grand tourer, so we were excited to get behind the wheel of the revived BMW 8 Series, specifically an M850i Coupe. A good GT needs to be as fast as it is stylish and comfortable, and the new 8 Series delivers. We particularly like the 523-horsepower twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8Â’s copious power and smooth ride quality, even on MichiganÂ’s pockmarked post-winter roads. We dig the interior design, too, though not everyone was in love with the exterior. ItÂ’s not the best-handling car in its class, and doesnÂ’t hide its sizable proportions very well, but itÂ’s still worth a look if youÂ’re looking for a big, fast cruiser.  2019 Ford Expedition Crossovers may be the hottest vehicles on the market, but thereÂ’s still a sizable demand for traditional body-on-frame SUVs like the Ford Expedition. These behemoths offer plenty of space in addition to truck-like capability. We like the Expedition's smooth ride, powerful twin-turbo V6 and sharp exterior design, though the interior can feel a bit cheap, especially on some of the more expensive trims. Adding options quickly puts it into Lincoln Navigator territory, and itÂ’s hard to recommend the Ford over the Lincoln when the latter packs the same capability into a far nicer package. Still, the Expedition is as good or better than the competition in most respects, and thatÂ’s why itÂ’s one of our picks. 2019 Toyota 86 Few cars at any price point are as much fun as the Toyota 86 (and its twin, the Subaru BRZ). We like the 86Â’s balanced chassis and sharp steering, and while itÂ’s not as nimble as its close rival the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the ToyotaÂ’s back seat and trunk make it a more usable vehicle. But while we like the 86Â’s driving position, the rest of the interior feels cheap and dated, especially the infotainment system. We complained about the anemic powertrain back in 2012, and itÂ’s only gotten worse as the years have gone by.

2015 Ford F-150 to get up to 26 miles per gallon

Fri, Nov 21 2014

The 2015 Ford F-150 is one of the most important US vehicle debuts in years, be it in the pickup segment or the entire marketplace. While we've already known about the truck's engine lineup, its payload ratings and we've even learned a bit about how it drives, the truck's EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings have remained a mystery. The wait is finally over. Ford has announced numbers that put the latest F-150 as the mileage leader among gasoline-powered, full-size pickups in the US, with its new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 topping the charts. Starting with the entry-level naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6, the rear-wheel-drive F-150 is rated at 18-miles-per-gallon city, 25-mpg highway and 20-mpg combined. Opting for four-wheel drive drops those numbers slightly to 17/23/19. If fuel economy is your absolute priority, then upgrading to the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 is the hot ticket. It improves things further to 19/26/22 in rear-wheel drive trim or 18/23/20 with four-wheel drive. The carryover naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 is rated at 15/22/18 as a 4X2 or 15/21/17 as a 4X4. Finally, the flagship 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 tops the range in available torque and offers buyers 17/24/20 ratings with rear-wheel drive or 17/23/19 with four-wheel drive. "We are delivering with the toughest, smartest and most capable F-150 ever – and now the highest EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of any full-size gas-powered pickup in America," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development, in the company's announcement. Depending on engine and drivetrain configuration, Ford contends that the 2.7-liter EcoBoost's top rating puts fuel economy up between 5 and 29 percent over the current generation, thanks in large part to the truck's lighter aluminum construction. Obviously, these are EPA estimates, and your mileage may vary – ours has. Recently, Autoblog team members have had real difficulty even approximating government mpg estimates on many EcoBoost models, including the new F-150. Scroll down to read Ford's full announcement, including comparisons to rival models.
