I bought this Bronco from the previous owner because he was being deployed over seas and did not want to pay to store it. I had intended to restore it, but I am moving in a couple months and will not be able to take this with me. The frame was cleaned and painted along with having a 3.5" suspension lift installed about 10 years ago. The suspension lift only has leaf springs and will need shock absorbers. The body does have severe rust and will need new floor pans, fenders, tailgate, and several patch panels, or you could also just order a new fiberglass body to replace the rusted out steel one. The body is currently just placed on the frame and is not bolted down. It has 302 that does turnover freely, but should probably be rebuilt. The transmission is a 4 speed manual NP435 which is linked to the Dana 20 transfer case. The engine, transmission, and transfer case are also just set on the frame and are not attached. The tires are 36X13.50-15LT Super Swampers. It does have a brand new Borgeson Steering shaft installed. When the frame was restored it was built for off roading as you can see in the pictures it has heavy duty steering components, a differential guard, hi-lift jack, and skid plate. Please look at the pictures as they will help show the condition much better.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

I could possibly deliver within 100 miles or so for a small cost.
The buyer is responsible for making shipping arrangements if necessary.
This vehicle does not come with a warranty and is sold as-is.
The vehicle is for sale locally, and I do reserve the right to end the listing early.
Please ask any and all questions you have before purchasing.
A deposit of $500 is required within 48 hours of the auction close.

1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special is a SEMA showstopper

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Rad Rides by Troy has unleashed upon the SEMA crowds this custom 1969 Ford Torino Talladega GT Special, and it's a beauty. The car calls to mind the classic Holman Moody stock cars that circled NASCAR tracks in the late 1960's, driven by the likes of Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and David Pearson, who won the Grand National title in both 1968 and '69 in a Ford Torino.
Even though it has plenty of stock-car influence, there's nothing retro about the car's design or powertrain, other than the fact that the engine is based on a Ford Boss 429 block. Fuel injection, aftermarket aluminum heads and a high-tech custom computer system combine to send 750 reliable ponies to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Brakes measure 14-inches all around, with six-piston Wilwood calipers up front and four-piston units out back.
There's custom bodywork abound, painted in a two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand finish. Check out all the amazing details in the image gallery below, and scroll down to read all about it in designer Troy Trepanier's own words.

Ford spotted testing new Focus RS at the Nurburgring

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

Ford is expected to be launching a revised version of the Focus ST soon, but the latest snapshots from our spy photographers at the Nürburgring suggest that the Blue Oval is already working on an even more potent example: the new Focus RS.
Though the partially disguised test mule is wearing an ST badge (along with a Dewey sticker that makes us wonder what adventures Huey and Louie are up to and what manner of duck-tail rear spoiler they may be wearing), there are several tell-tale signs that something else is afoot here. There's a larger front air dam, bigger brake calipers, dual exhaust tips (instead of the central exhaust on the ST) and a reshaped wing protruding from the trailing edge of the roof.
That may all be well and fine, but what's under the hood? We don't know yet for sure, but word has it that Ford is preparing to port over the 2.3-liter turbo four offered in the new Mustang, where it packs 305 horsepower and almost as much torque - potentially retuned to produce even more for the top-of-the-line Focus, which could channel it all to the front wheels like the last model or pack an all-wheel drive system. The Global C platform on which the Focus is based does, after all, also underpin AWD models like the Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC.

Ford ST Octane Academy [w/video]

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

The ST school is about more than just handbrake turns, hot laps, and sliding into parking spaces.
I felt like such a rock star. On my second pass around the UrbanCross course (read: fancy autocross) at the Ford ST Octane Academy, I absolutely nailed the exit, sliding the bright-yellow Focus ST sideways into a box the size of a parking space, all four wheels in line.
