90k Original Miles!!!

Original 90k Miles.  All receipts for motor rebuild.  Ground up restoration.  New Paint, new interior, new body moldings, nice radial tires.  FUN, FUN, FUN!!  This Bronco is awesome.  I get so much attention when I drive this.  Even the Sherrif gave me a thumbs up yesterday as I was driving it around.  If you have wanted a Bronco already done this is the one to have.

This also has the convertible removable top.  It also has the fold down front window.  The fenders are uncut and original!!  The floors have no rust and have been redone.  You typically will not find any without rusted out floors...

This hot little Bronco has received a very nice ground up restoration.  The motor has been gone through and I have all of the receipts on the rebuild.  It sports a strong 302 V8 and is a fun shifting 3 Speed Manual Transmission.  The paint is new, new chrome bumpers, new interior, has the spare tire.  No issues, all the glass is good, rear tinted windows, has a center console and wired for stereo.  We just completed all the paint and body work and it rides on top of BF Goodrich radial TA's.  Drives nicely and the 4x4 unit works great.  I have all of the documentation on this car for the rebuild, etc.  Remember this has very low original miles!!!  Only 90k!!!

I also have 2 other 1974 Broncos for sale in restoration phase.  Let me know if you are interested.  They both are automatics.  Red and Brown.  The brown has AC and power steering for both.  I can send pics upon request.

Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises. You can check out the full press release below. You can also read the full study on the Consumer Reports site, or scroll down for a short video recap.

2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost

Fri, 09 May 2014

I'll be honest; when Ford first unveiled its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, I was skeptical. Past attempts at building turbocharged American cars were almost universally awful, I reasoned, so why would Ford's latest effort be any different? This may seem foolish today, considering the success that the growing EcoBoost range has achieved - particularly the 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter mills. Yet I once again found myself questioning Ford.
It's the makeup of the 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder slotted into the compact engine bay of this Fiesta that has a way of breeding doubt. Three-cylinder engines remain an extreme rarity in the US. What's more, they earned a less-than-desirable reputation for applications in the 1980s and 1990s, and my trepidation about this latest three-pot as a result.
As I found out, though, history is a poor informant of modern technology. The thrust available in other cars with the EcoBoost badge on the back has not gone missing here; something the International Engine of the Year committee has lauded. That august body named the 1.0-liter Ecoboost the best engine of 2012 and 2013. After a week of driving, it didn't take long for my fear of threes to get turned into something like that line of thinking.
