Up for Auction is a 1973 Ford Bronco I am selling for my Uncle who now resides in Florida. The Bronco belonged to his brother who sadly passed away last fall. The Bronco was purchased by him in 2008 and restored by him in the winter of 08/09. It shows 73717 on the odometer, which is currently working and I would believe to be accurate original mileage, however I can make no guarantees as we unfortunately don't have that information. I am posting this add with the information that I have found in receipts and by looking the vehicle over in my shop. I have found receipts for oil pump, water pump, cam & lifters, valve job, ect so I believe that the 302ci v8 was rebuilt in the summer of 2009. I have also found receipts for body panels, floor pans, paint and labor in the winter of 08/09. It would appear to me that after purchase in 2008 the Bronco underwent a complete home garage restoration. It has a James Duff multi shock suspension lift with 33X14.50R15LT tires tucked under it. Along with a James Duff steering stabilizer, rebuilt power steering pump and gear box. It appears the axles were rebuilt and that ARB air lockers were installed at that time along with warn locking front hubs. The bronco has a 4spd manual transmission and a 2spd transfer case for 4wd mode. The interior has front bucket leather seats with a locking Tuffy center console and glove box. AM/FM cassette stereo with 6x9 speakers in boxes along with a Clarion Amp and a subwoofer in the rear. The bronco does not have any rear seating at this time. It does have a roll bar with multiple grab handles. The top is removable and it does have a Bestop Bikini Top that comes with it. The bronco has dual fuel tanks and they appear to switch as they should. The truck has numerous add-ons that I can see, too many to list even though I found receipts for most so that I could. I however recommend if you are interested that you come and see it in person as I said I do not know alot about the vehicle and we have no one to inquire with, so I also ask that you inspect it and be sure that you know what is there as I said I am going by receipts and what little knowledge we have of the vehicle. I know that after it was restored it has seen very little mileage and had been sitting in garage for years. The bronco was removed from the garage in the spring and transported to Turner Automotive in Victor, N.Y. where it was gone through in order to sell there on consignment. I picked it up from them recently as it did not sell. I flat hauled it to my residence and then drove it approximately 2 miles to be sure it ran, drove and stopped as it should. Everything appears to work as it should on test drive. I did observe a small coolant leak where water pump mounts and a oil pan gasket leak which I cleaned and tightened, may need new gaskets, I believe the gaskets dried out while sitting for an extended period. The truck is in nice shape and had a good home shop restoration, with that said it is not showroom perfect. I again ask that you inspected it before bidding as I make no guarantees on the vehicle or its condition. I want you the buyer to be happy with it and not to go by my description. I do have a clear New York State Title for the vehicle and can provide a sales tax form or receipt from the estate. Shipping is the responsibilty of the buyer. I will require a non-refundable$500.00 deposit via paypal and require the rest in cash or certified bank check upon pick-up. I also reserve the right to end this auction as I do have the vehicle for sale locally. If you have any further questions or wish to make an appointment to view this vehicle you can reach me at 585-281-5416 by text or call.

2020 Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator reportedly facing numerous QC issues
Mon, Sep 16 2019A lengthy report in the Detroit Free Press delves into a range of quality control issues confronting the 2020 Ford Explorer and its luxury platform sibling, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. Freep says it's been following the issue for two months, tapping various unnamed sources for information on the automaker's unorthodox route to resolution. Seems the problem is Explorers and Aviators leaving the production line at the Chicago Assembly Plant with flaws in areas like the chassis, transmission and suspension, said vehicles trucked to Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant (FRAP) outside of Detroit for repair. The estimates range from 10,000 to 18,000 vehicles affected, numbers so high that Ford has sought help from Roush Engineering in nearby Allen Park, and brought workers and managers from other plants in the Midwest to FRAP to get vehicles repaired and shipped to dealers. Ford hasn't shared the nature of the problems with anyone outside the company, including dealers and customers. Freep's sources are said to include workers who have provided photos of certain vehicles and of tents used to house parts at the FRAP repair site. The Explorer chassis allegedly has an unidentified problem that engineers are using X-rays to diagnose, and the transmission is having problems sensing when it's in park or going into park. Both the Explorer and Aviator have come off the line with HVAC units that only blow hot air. And the Aviator's height-adjustable suspension enters failure mode for unknown reasons. These come on top of quotidian mishaps common to every new vehicle, but that are meant to be sorted in pre-production, like missing emblems and trim pieces. They also come on top of a recall in early August issued for the Explorer and Aviator concerning the instrument cluster and parking brake, and another at the end of August over rear seatbacks that could collapse in a crash. An automaker spokesperson told Freep, "Making updates to preproduction models based on all-new platforms as they roll off the assembly line – is standard industry practice." Except these aren't pre-production, these are early production vehicles that paying customers and dealers are waiting for, and some of the affected vehicles have been pulled off dealer lots. Dealers say they are fine waiting for the trucks to get sorted out, and they'd rather have Ford fix the problems before the SUVs go to customers.
10 most memorable cars and SUVs of 2019
Tue, Dec 24 2019It's no surprise that a car reviewer will drive a large number of cars over the course of a year. Indeed, when the clock strikes midnight on Dec 31, I will have driven 75 new cars, trucks and SUV this year (and one old Peugeot) over the course of weekly evaluation loans and first drive events. That sure seems like a lot. Some definitely got more attention than others, and some came and went without leaving much of an impression – I completely forgot I drove a Kia Forte. Yet in the spirit of this day, I thought I'd pick the 10 that I would love to see under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning. You know, just in case you were looking to get me something. I'll also throw in a couple disappointments that were memorable for the wrong reasons. They'd get sent back to the store on Boxing Day. Lexus LC 500 Pictured below and resplendent in its Flare Yellow metallic paint, the car that would reach highest on my list is the divine Lexus LC 500. As a devout lover of GT cars, the LC ticks all the boxes. Muscular and characterful engine? V8, check. Beautifully made and memorable interior? It's gorgeous, to hell with Remote Touch. Check. Comfortable and reasonably practical? Superb seats and, uh, yeah. Makes me want to stand there and stare at it? You bet. Though I long figured my heart would say LC but my head "Porsche 911," after this go-around, that's no longer the case. LC, pretty please. 2020-lexus-lc500-f34-2 View 19 Photos Polestar 1 I actually feel lucky that I got to drive the Polestar 1. Only 150 will be produced each year, and it's a far more special thing than it would initially appear. And that's despite initially appearing to be a beautiful, classic two-door GT car with a roof so rakish it's only possible because it's made of carbon fiber. That itÂ’s a massively powerful plug-in hybrid with more all-electric range than any other PHEV is a thick dollop of whipped cream on a slice of Toscakaka. You know, Swedish dessert, Swedish car. Fine, I'll stick to Ikea references. Polestar1_Launch_SanFrancisco-0014 View 44 Photos Volvo V60 Cross Country Speaking of Sweden, did I drive this car off the road there? Sure did! And despite this, the V60 Cross Country scratches that certain wagon itch and looks sensational to boot. I wish it were available with the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's best not to get greedy at Christmas.
Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?
Sun, Jul 9 2023The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric. Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands. If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla. Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor. Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have: Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.
