I have up for bid a rare 1973 Ford Bronco 4x4 with the Ranger trim package.  This was purchased form the original owners, and had been in barn storage for the past 23 years.  This Bronco features the original 302 V8 engine and automatic transmission.  This is going to be sold as a project or parts vehicle due to the amount of rust that the body has in it.  I have taken quite a few photos to try to give a good idea of what you would be getting.  Both front fenders are very rusty, especially inside the door jams.  Both doors are gone, not available.  Even if they were still with the truck, there is nothing left to hold the hinges due to rust out.  The tail gate is rusted out, as well as the inner rear fender wells.  There are two large rust holes in the floor of the cargo area as well.  The top/roof appears to be in very good condition and is not rusted out at all that I have found.  The inner grill is in good condition, as well as the hood. The engine is not locked up, and with a little effort should be able to get it running.  I have all four original hubcaps and also have the spare tire carrier.  The rear bench seat is no longer with the truck.  The front seats are in fair to good condition.  All of the window glass is in tact and usable.  The tires are all dry rotted from having sat for so many years.  Three out of the four tires hold air.  The left front will not take air.  The rear inner side panel have been removed and are no longer available.  The odometer is currently reading 09983, which I believe is going to be 109, 983 actual miles.
The factory color is Wind Blue.  The truck came equipped with the Ranger package, power steering, delete tape treatment, 4450 LB GVW package, Cruise-o-matic, RH chrome mirror, LH Remote control mirror, Body Side Moulding, Extra cooling radiator with a total sticker price of $4951.48 new.  Bought new in Harrisonville, MO at Marvin Burris Ford-Mercury on 05/25/73
I have just about all of the original paperwork that came with this truck, including the window sticker, original owner's manual, and original sales invoice.   I realize that this Bronco has a LOT of rust, but there is still a lot of potential to restore this rare truck.  OR there are a lot of good, usable parts for this to be a donor for another 66-73 Bronco.  These first generation Broncos are becoming more and more difficult to find, and in nice condition are commanding big prices so this is very much a worthwhile project to invest in.

Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding.  ALL SALES FINAL!  Winning bidder is required to make full payment within 3 DAYS of the close of the auction through Paypal. I will only accept cash in hand if the buyer is able to come pick the Bronco up within the allotted time period required for full payment. Again, please contact me prior to the auction ending if you have a question about this or anything else regarding this auction.

I will not make shipping arrangements.  That is the responsibility of the buyer.  This truck is for pickup ONLY, and must be picked up at my location (ZIP 64040) within 20 days of the auction ending unless PRIOR arrangements are made with me before the auction ends.  Please do not send me a message AFTER the auction has ended and tell me that it will be longer than 20 days before you can pick this up.  I will charge a daily storage fee after the 20 days has past.  I hate to be that way, but too many times I have sold items such as this and they have sat at my place for months on end waiting to be picked up.

NOTE REGARDING MY FEEDBACK - Please take a look at the ONE negative feedback that I have.  The buyer attempted to remove the negative feedback, but for some reason was unable to do so.  He stated that it was miscommunication and that he was satisfied with his purchase.  I pride myself in being honorable in my transactions, and try hard to describe items that I am offering to the best of my ability.

Please take a look at the other items that I have up for auction, and thank you for stopping by!

Car technology I'm thankful and unthankful for

Mon, Nov 27 2017

The past few years have seen a surge of tech features in new vehicles — everything from cloud-based content to semi-autonomous driving. While some of it makes the driving experience better, not all tech is useful or well thought out. Automakers who are adept at drivetrains, ride quality and in-cabin comforts often fail at infotainment interfaces and connectivity. From testing dozens of vehicles each year and in the spirit of gratitude, here are three car tech features I'm thankful — and a trio I could live without. Thanks Connected search: This seems like a no-brainer since everyone already has it on their smartphones, but not all automakers include it in the dashboard and as part of their nav systems. The best ones, such as Toyota Entune, leverage a driver's connected device to search for a range of services and don't charge a subscription or require a separate data plan for the car. I also like how systems like Chrysler Uconnect use Yelp or other apps to find everything from coffee to gas stations and allow searching via voice recognition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: It took two of the largest tech companies to get in-dash infotainment right. While they have their disadvantages (you're forced to use Apple Maps with CarPlay, for example), the two smartphone-integration platforms make it easier and safer to use their respective native apps for phoning, messaging, music and more behind the wheel by transferring a familiar UI to the dashboard — with no subscription required. Heated seats and steering wheels: I really appreciate these simple but pleasant features come wintertime. It's easy to get spoiled by bun-warmers on frosty mornings and using a heated steering wheel to warm the cold hands. I recently tested a 2018 Mercedes-Benz E400 Coupe that also had heated armrest that added to a cozy luxury experience. Bonus points for brands like Buick that allow setting seat heaters to turn on when the engine is remotely started. No thanks Automaker infotainment systems: Automakers have probably poured millions into creating their own infotainment systems, with the result largely being frustration on the part of most car owners. And Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming along to make them obsolete. While some automaker systems, such as Toyota Entune and FCA's Uconnect, are easy and intuitive to use, it seems that high-end systems (I'm looking at you BMW iDrive and Mercedes-Benz COMAND) are the most difficult.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.

2015 Ford Mustang invades SEMA, led by King Cobra

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Ford showcased more than a dozen customized 2015 Mustangs at its sprawling 20,000-square foot display this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center as the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary celebration continued at the SEMA Show.
While Mustangs are always a hot commodity at SEMA, the new generation brought increased attention from the aftermarket, as builders like Galpin Auto Sports, Richard Petty's Garage and Vaughn Gittin Jr. offered their takes on the new 'Stang.
The extensive display included a range of Mustangs from mild to wild, with everything from a 600-plus horsepower King Cobra pictured at the top, to paint-and-wheel packages. The new regal Cobra, which we spied early in our SEMA adventure this year, may not be the replacement for the Cobra Jet as we speculated, but it does seem to point the way forward for the next iteration of a supreme Ford dragster. Fat drag slicks out back make it's reason for being abundantly clear, and for tells us that modded car is good for a 10.97-second quarter-mile run.
